Transmission Problems
The Hybrid is a terrific car. It's quiet, rides well and handles nimbly. I traded a Volvo 960 for this car and am very satisfied with its power and comfort under all road conditions. It is extremely well designed and engineered. Take it for a test drive and see for yourself.(The Prius is crude and clunky compared to the Civic.)I can cruise all day at highway speeds in comfort.
Best car we've ever owned...
We brought this car for a number of reasons, all of which are on the Lefty side of the political spectrum. We are not disappointed. I drive this car 56 miles every day to and from work, most of it is highway with a ten mile jaunt through a small semi-rural town. In the summer I was getting 42 mpg while in the winter it fell all the way down 31 mpg. You will find that the car's engine will not shutdown at stops when it is cold out which can be a bit of a problem up here in Minneasota. Further, when you have the defrost on the econ system, which makes the car shutdown at stops, deactivates. All in all I'm overjoyed with this cars performance on the winter roads, it handled like a dream!

A car for peace of mind
First I'm cost concience and I don't like supplying the middle east oil with my hard earned money. I appreciate my 2005 Honda Civic hybrid for room, comfort, handling, a good safety rating, and especially excellent fuel economy. I bought this vehicle, not only for the above reasons but also to help out our environment being a clean car. I wish everyone was concerned as much as I am on this matter. The price of this vehicle is a little more than I really wanted to pay for a vehicle but if you want something that really contains all the reasons for buying then It's worth it.
Civic Hybrid ROCKS!
I just got really tired of filling up my Silverado at $50-$55 a fillup and only about 350 miles for that much cash, so I traded for the Civic Hybrid. Now I get over 600 miles for around $25 a fillup. The Civic even has more front seat legroom, and since I am over 6 ft tall, this is big. It's only an inch, but it does make a difference. Seats are as comfortable as the truck, visibility is great also.
05 Civic Hybrid CVT
I drive a Civic out of choice, not necessity, I am disappointed that leather was not offered as an option. I had to order it as a custom item. Also, I would like to see automatic turn off of lights in the future. You wouldn't believe how many times I've run my battery down. Wish I'd opted for MP3 compatibility--was it an option? The mileage has not yet reached the advertised levels, but perhaps it's not yet fully broken in. During the recent high fuel price crunch, I was not complaining about my 38-41 mpg performance, but to date I have not reached the optimum 47/49 mpg. Overall, I have been very pleased with this car.
