What a great car!
Maybe I am still in the honeymoon phase, but I love this car! I can't say enough good things about my civic hybrid. The styling is very attractive, it is loaded with many standard features that would have been options in other cars, ie. all power windows, locks, cruise, power steering and brakes, a cd player, even floor mats! The MPG is phenominal. I average 47 MPG on my daily 90 mile commute to San Francisco (over the Altimont Pass!) Had my first oil change and found out that it costs more for hybrids--even at the dealership--because of "special oil" and a little extra labor time. It was only a few bucks more, which I save on gas anyway.
Outstanding car
I have only had this vehicle for two weeks but I love it! It is so smooth driving it and you will not believe how quiet it is. I don't know about gas milage yet because it still has a half a tank of fuel. it is showing 270 miles. The auto transmission is great. You never feel any shifting like in a regular auto. great car

simply amazing
What a great car, you don't sacrafice anything only gain. I get 49.5 miles to the gallon highway and 42.3 city.
ReadyToMoveUp
There is no true power in this car unless you add your own, and thus void the warranty. I have had this car for over a year, with no technical problems. The panels are thin and you can expect many dings and paint scratches. There are many little irritants i have with this car, such as the ugliest interior fabric, the air conditioner stinks and blows warm air when on medium-high, the seats will easily "click" out of place. I am rumbling about the little things but swear by the Honda name. I want to move up to a Honda Accord EX in the very near future, Im just plain bored with the Civic. I just hope i dont put the money into something just like the Civic.
Very Satisfied with Honda
I purchased a 2003 Civic EX 4 door automatic at the Honda Clearance sale. Was able to get a great price just slightly above invoice and a wonderful finance rate on a car with all the options. I was NOT pressured at all by the salesman or finance manager. So far, I am very satisfied with my purchase. The car runs great; the extras like the moon roof and the keyless remote are fun to use; the anti- lock brakes make me feel safer; and there's just enough back seat space to fit 2 children's booster seats and one infant car seat.
New Hybrid Owner
I just bought my Hybrid this weekend but so far I think it's fantastic compared to the Kia Sportage that I did have. I bought it for $19,200 but I had to add a little on since I was upside down on my Kia (a $10,000 depreciation in a little over a year!) I was scared it wouldn't have much power but it has more get-up-and-go than my Kia did, plus it's so quiet and smooth. I drive 35 miles one way to work and averaged 45.6mpg (17mpg with my Kia).
Transmission/Clutch Recall Info
There was a recall on the transmission (Judder Slippage - the car rumbles when accelerating, esp noticeable going uphill). According to protocol, they have to do this "burnishing procedure" 3 times, at which point they will replace the entire clutch on your transmission (for free, under the recall). You also need to be under 100K mi to be eligible. My car is at 98K....they're just about to replace my clutch, so I'm very excited about that. Other than this one issue, my car has been running perfectly. I've been keeping track of MPG for over 10K, and I'm averaging 46.5 MPG. I'm absolutely thrilled (and confused that some people claim to get only 35 MPG).
more fun than a gas pump
great mmileage, all instruments are in the right place cept for one. the gear shift can go into a low gear when you don't want it to and the site of the reading on shift lever is the only hard thing to find in the car. having no sound at stop lights is great. my oil plug came out while doing 55 mph and all went well.it shut down and wouldn't restart. i luv it.
My best car yet...
Having put 12,000 miles on my Honda Civic Hybrid CVT over the last 15 months, I can say I like it better than the 3 Audis and 4 Mercedes-Benz, bought new, that I had previously owned. (I traded in a late model M-B on the Civic.) Unfortunately, the Hybrid did not come with a moonroof, so I had a top-of-the-line ASC moonroof installed as part of the purchase order. (ASC is the supplier for the moonroofs that are installed at the Honda factories in Ohio.) This is one great car, as near to being environmentally sound as one could hope for at this stage of our technology.
Grt Imprvmnts but still not quite there
My parents recently bought a new '03 Silver Civic and the improvements over the '01 EX Civic that I drive are great! The car is so quite compared to the '01. It feels and more like an older Accord. The chrome accents were neatly placed and add a touch of upscale. The drinkholder looks better with the cover. The dash with the 3 blue gauges is great but the speedo is harder to read at 30, 50, 70, etc... The yellow on the dash is odd. The newer armrest works better because passengers get a small piece too. The rear headrests are great for taller passengers and the fabric is pretty cool.. It should also come standard with alloys, floor mats & side airbags.
