I purchased mine in 2019 with 47,000 miles on it. Driven by a little old lady from Florida, it had scrapes on all four corners of the car, Spatial recognition with little old ladies it tough. But, mechanically and rust wise it was in excellent no rust shape. The 1.6 litre engine is peppy and smooth shifting with its automatic transmission, it's comfortable and is happy cruising at 70 mph on the freeway. With good tires and regular maintenance is has proven to give excellent gas mileage and dependability. If you don't beat it and drive it conservatively with proper maintenance you should have it for years. As a side note the younger generation loves these older Civics and thinks they are cool looking and fun to restore and make into little hotrods. So when your done with it, the likelihood of a kid buying it for a good price is high.

We bought it new and drove it for 24 years and 157,000 miles. We replaced the timing belt and water pump at 100,000 miles. Other than oil, battery, and tires, the only thing that ever had to be fixed was a wheel bushing and a window crank handle. When the starter finally failed after 24 years we decided to buy another new Civic instead of repair.
