All Bark & No Bite

I love old and new cars alike and heard a lot of things about this car. I decided to see what all the hype was about and asked for a relative to lend me his top model car for the weekend. It had 76k miles on it and very well maintained. I took it for a ride for a few days and tried to bond with the car. The interior & exterior design was great compared to other cars in the late 80's and early 90's; but If you wanted convenience then it was going to cost more seeing how even the highest trim fails to please potential buyers. However nothing is wrong with customizing your interior and exterior making it more modern and functional. The performance was where I was severely disappointed, on the highest trim there was 110HP. Base models are around 50HP to 60HP. From a sports company to not back this car with an amazing engine is very disappointing. The sad truth is no amount of tuning will ever make this car run like a sports car. The small hatchback cars of today that people laugh at such as the Chevrolet Spark EV and Sonic has 140HP and has 400lb of torque! all on a silent engine. It looks nice from the outside but that's about it. There is a lot of road noise when driving on the highway but even that's fixable with Dynamat for a nice price. The roaring riding lawnmower sounding muffler when people are driving this car will only be a reminder of how this car is all bark and no bite. On the upside if you like collecting vintage cars then this is an amazing car to add to your collection. Fix it up and renew the appreciation of cars from 30+ years ago. Comfort was good for small commutes but If you were going on a 2 to 3 hour drive you will feel the need to get out and stretch your legs guaranteed. Overall I was left expecting more from this car because it had so much potential. My rating is based on the standard features of the CRX Si car without anything upgraded or fixed.
