Been in the market for a car since my lease on the 2003 BMW 530i was coming up. With the gas prices where it was heading, didn't really want to drop a bundle on a car nor pay for the premium gas at the pump. I've been very happy with the car for 3 years but felt it was time to be more practical. Looked at a Maxima, Avalon, Camry, and Accord. Finally decided on the Accord based on price, quality, reliability and practicality. I am so glad I went with the Accord. Saved about 3k with the comparably equipped 2007 Camry. I was concerned about going from a torquey German I6 to a Japanese four banger, but so far, I have been very happy with the car. I recommend this car to all in this segment. Nice

Pleasantly surprised with gas mileage

2006 Honda Accord Hybrid 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl gas/electric hybrid 5A)

This car replaced a '96 Sable LS and is an upgrade in every way. The car has about 1000 miles on it of which 600 are from one long trip which averaged 35.4 mpg. I love the acceleration and handling of the car and the seamlessness with which the various fuel saving features work. Auto-Stop and restart is flawless, VCM kicking the car into 3-cylinder mode is more obvious. Fuel economy is good although it is highly dependent on how the car is driven. I can easily get 36-37 mpg in moderate highway traffic and averaged 40 mpg on a 100 mile leg of a long trip. MPG on the short trip (5 mi) my wife takes to work is in the low 20's, which is to be expected since the engine barely has time to warm up.

Impressive Coupe

2006 Honda Accord LX 2dr Coupe (2.4L 4cyl 5A)

What a bargain for such a nice coupe with impressive list of safety features. 166 hp is plenty enough to tackle urban jungle with great ride, handling and comfort. A peace of mind for years to come considering great fuel economy, safety and reliability. Less trip for repair or to the gas pump - ah! heaven.

Best Sedan value

This is my 2nd Accord and my 4th Honda. I absolutely think they make the best cars you can buy. Fun to drive, most reliable, and low maintenance costs. If you are looking for a worry free fun car to drive that will last 10 or more years and hold its value the whole time, look no further than the Accord. I think this Accord is the best looking. They ruined the looks in 08.
