Used 2003 Honda Accord EX 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5M) Consumer Reviews
Nice ride
Bought my used accord in '07 w/ 58,000. This car looks nice, rides nice, but w a 13.5 gal tank my trip is only reading 320 miles til empty. What's that about 25mpg- (city/highway) I am little disappointed in the gas mileage, I got better in my 97' Saturn (28mpg). but over all I would buy another Honda because it's been two years and no problems, nada!!!
Very pleased after 7 years
Bought this Accord new in 2003. It has met or exceeded all my expectations. We now have 200,000 km on the car and have made 2 unscheduled visits to the dealership. When the car was new, the low-washer-fluid sensor did not work, or was not connected. At 135,000 km the HVAC/Radio display went out and was replaced, no hassles by a good-will warranty. It's hard to find fault with this car. Clutch still works like new, very reasonable gas mileage, reasonable 4- cyl torque and Hp (161 and 160). Maintenance costs have been low. I am a true car enthusiast and while this car is not overly exciting, it does everything it is expected to do and does it well.

My Accord Stinks
Since buying my Accord in Oct 2002 I have had a terrible sulfur odor. It seems to be worse during the winter. The catalytic converter was replaced at just over 3000 miles. The dealership discounts the odor to California emissions since the car was made there. I had always heard how great Hondas were. I doubt that I would ever buy another Honda. I also have complained about my brakes. The car is going back in for the second time to have the brakes repaired.
Great Car!
I have had this car for about 9 months now, and I love it. It is smooth and quiet on the freeway, and has just enough punch to be fun to drive. I wish the suspension was a little tighter in the turns, but hey, this is a family car. The maunal trans and clutch are so smooth and easy to use almost anyone should be able to drive this car.
Good car-minor faults
For the money, this is a great car. It is a huge upgrade from the 2002 model we had. Honda seems to add just the features we thought were lacking, like heated seats and split HVAC controls. We considered both the VW Passat and the small Mercedes sedan- both are great cars and the Accord come pretty close for a lot less money. That said, there are a few issues. One is that there is a severe wheel shake problem during braking. At first I thought the wheels were loose- it's that bad and I haven't gotten used to it; it freaks me out ever time I brake hard. The other is the bland- ugly even- styling.
