My
I bought my Accord with 19,000 miles on it a year and a half old. Since then I've put on 157,000 over nine years of trouble free ownership. Nothing has needed replacement on this vehicle other than normal wear and tear (muffler, brake pads). Biggest tips: Mobile 1 synthetic evern 4k, and cross drilled front rotors. For some reason the rotors extend the life of the pads while giving the predicted benefit of enhanced stopping power.
Can't complain #2
I now have 324,000 miles on my EX Automatic Accord. Since my last review I have put on 100,000 miles. my repairs: new tires, antenna inside replaced, break pads, front window from rock chips, valve cover gasket. I still drive it fast, handles well, and will write again my next 100,000 miles..No car payments for more years to come, YEA!!
A great car
I am now selling my 1993 Honda Accord because, with our kids gone, we have one car too many... but I part with it with great regret. Mileage is good, and it has had no major mechanical problems. Very, very reliable. I have never kept a car with 131,000 miles, but this one drives as good as ever.
Review
I bought this vehicle brand new and I haven't had any major problems. It drive about 85-90% as good as it did when I purchased it. I also give credit to an excellent mechanic who has been very conscientious about the care of my Honda.
awesome little car
I truly enjoy owning my little 93' accord, it's fun to drive and it goes... well lets just say realy fast!
love but it leaks...a lot!
i've spent very little money to maintain this great car and it has been very reliable and fun.
Trust My Car
I bought my car brand new with 7 miles on it in March 1993, now 11 years later and 205,000 miles, it still has as much power as it did the day the day I bought it. I have not had any problem with the engine in any way, except the manufacturer defect of the distributor (which was recalled). We do maintain it, with regular tune-ups and oil changes every 3 thousand miles. The only thing we have done, (aside from interior, mostly cosmetic problems) is regular maintenance with only 1 battery and of course tires.
BEST USED CAR TO BUY
I can't believe how good these cars are. I bought a used one with 190,000 miles on it. Everyone thought I was crazy to pay $3500 for it but let me tell you. Now I have 250K on the car and IT STILL RUNS LIKE NEW. I will never sell this car, Cheap on gas, but you do have to fix few common problems every now and then. CV axes, radiator, speed sensor, and oxygen sensor. THAT's it. And only every 60K or so... not bad. So don't just keep reading this, go and buy one. You will love it.
i love this car
in seven years we did not have a single problem with our accord. nothing broke, just had routine maintenence, oil changes and a tune-up at 120,000. still looks good, feels good, and drives good.
Fast and Fun!
I purchased this vehicle about a year ago, and have driven the car almost 15000 miles. I really like this car, she is really fast! This is my favorite year out of the early 90's accords because of the extra power etc... Some of the mods that I have done are; full intake and exhaust, indiglo guages, supercharger. The thing that I was scared about the most when I did the exhaust kit was that it would sound like a Civic, but that I4 2.2L sounds great and its definitely a head turner! The only thing that I would do to change the car a little bit is to make the engine more accessible and repairs less expensive, other than that I love this car, its gonna be hard to let go.
I expected much better
I bought this car because of its' reputation. I was let down. 75k miles when I got it and the ABS pump was shot. $1300 to replace, no thanks. The counter balance shaft belt broke and now it shakes like crazy at idle. Trans vibrates bad between 35 and 50 mph like it's trying to shift but can't. Oil leaking at every possible place. Both interior door hanldes broke. CV joints on both sides went this year. The factory radio was the worst thing I've ever heard. Now, the engine is very strong and burns no oil. The seats are very comfortable. Everything works inside. The style is the best. Still a great looking car.
Couldn't be happier - 11 years later!
This is a GREAT car. No problems and great performance through its entire life. I'm ready for my next GREAT car - a hybrid.
The '93 Honda Accord is a Great Car!
This vehicle is the Best!
My first car
I bought my accord just a few months ago. It has been great. Its my first car and I love it. I had issues with the alternator and car starting and electrical stuff. We replaced the battery and the alternator to no avail. When we got it looked at, it turns out that the previous owner replaced the alternator belt on incorrectly, and now it is perfect. I love the gas mileage...300 miles per fill-up! A great first car. Its got 92,000 miles and is still going strong!
May 93 Accord
I have owned Honda vehicles for some 20 years. I have had very few issues which would make me consider changing brands. The only issue I consistently had to address is the air conditioner compresor failures which required an approximate $1000 replacement cost. My 1993 Accord LX has had 3 replacements since I purchased the car.
"My Baby"
I am a junior in college and my parents bought this car in 2002 as a high school graduation present. I LUV my car! I will drive this car until it won't move and the way it runs at 123,000 miles, that may be a long time from now. It gets regular services and the only thing extra I've had to do was to replace a CV axle last year. It cost about five hundred dollars and on average, including services, i spend about $600 a year on upkeep. Better than $600/month on a piece of junk. Don't sit there, go buy one now!
Pros
Bought this car new for my wife. (and me too) traded in 1988 century. Bummer. Have had wonderful luck with it. Expensive to recharge A/C but worth. Thinking of trading in for 2005 Odyssey. Seating kinda low making getting out uncomfortable. Engine purrs like a kitten.
11 great years
Bought it new and got 202,000 miles before the tranny blew. Low maintenance costs throughout. Change the oil and it just keeps on going. I drive hard commuter miles and got my money's worth and then some.
Honda is number one
This year Honda was well designed. The interior has held up well for 11 years and 211000 miles. I have never driven a better car than a Honda. I have long legs and yet I do not even have to put the seat all the way back to drive. It has plenty of power for a high mileage, four cylinder. I would suggest everyone get a Honda.
1993 Accord is my Best Friend
This is the most wonderful car ever made. It has been totally reliable, saves you a ton on gas and insurance, and is very zippy and fun to drive- especially in a 5 speed. I have had mine for 11 years, and it has never let me down. When I'm ready to reitre it and get a new car, I plan to put it into storage for the next 40 years untill its considered a classic. That's how much I love this car. No Joke.
Great Car
I just bought this car four months ago and it is simply the best!! I upgraded from a little Honda Civic to a more powerful Accord. I am very happy with the power that is has! I am also VERY happy with the very low maintenence on the engine! I have NO rust and is still going strong. I am very glad I have a Honda as my parents are having with their 96 Windstar that just hit 100k!! (the problems are here!!!) I have and I will always say: Ford should learn from the Japanese to get the product right, THE FIRST TIME!!
My "new" car
I still call my 1993 Honda Accord my new car. I do love it, but I don't like the whistling from the windows if I go more than 30 mph. Otherwise, I love my Honda and I will buy another. I love the style, the large front window and the large back window. No cars compete with that so far. Otherwise, I love my car.
Pretty good car
It drives pretty well, I have the 5 speed manual, and it can go, iv done alot of mods to it, and tons more to come, and very easy to customize. New H22a engine on the way too. WOOHOO!
Cheap & Reliable
Nothing to recommend it except that it is incredibly reliable and costs next to nothing to run. Comfort, handling, features all pretty mundane. Like any good appliance, it does all you want to to do, but is not in any way memorable. Maybe that's what a car should be. I've had this since new (wife's car) and it now has 188,000 miles. Never failed to start. Never quit. Not a dime spent on anything but routine maintenance(and not much of that...tires last 90,000 miles, still have original struts, etc) except for one flat tire and a brakelight bulb.
Still Going Strong
I bought this car used in 1995 to replace my '83 Accord. Take care of these cars and they will last. I have 127k miles on it and it runs as great as the day I bought it. I get 32 MPG on average in the city, about 34 highway.
Serving Me Well
The easiest purchase I ever made was my Honda EX Accord. It's reputation for being long-lasting sold me before I stepped into the showroom ten years ago. My Honda is approaching 80,000 miles without having any major problems. Several people have asked if I'm ready to sell but I just can't part with a valued friend!
140,000 and still going strong!!
This is my second accord. I traded in my 1989 too prematurely (it had no problems what-so ever!) but I have not looked back ever since. The car goes and goes...fast! It is very stable on the highway. The engine is still 'peppy'! The best 'people mover' car. I expect to either give it to my son or continue to ride into the sunset! No major repairs, just normal maintainance. I will by another before I die! Smokey
Honda
very good quality, excellent gas mileage added no oil, then changed oil at 7000 miles.
Great car!
I bought this car just last year and it had 93,000 miles on it. It now has 118,000 miles on it and i have done nothing but the usual maintenance. I am now trying to see it, but only because i am getting a Prelude. These cars are built very well and will last for a long time. I really like the alloy wheels, spoiler, and overall look of the accord. The sound system is actually decent for a 93 car. GREAT CAR!
Good for Teens
I have been driving this car for over 3- 1/2 years. No problem at all except changing the radiator. Very reliable and it's good for high school kids and college students.
Great Car
A great car for daily commuting or a car to modify.
Very nice car
I've only had this car a short time, but it's fun to drive, quiet, clean, and runs great!
Best Car Ever!
I bought this car exactly one year ago today and I haven't been anything but completely happy. The interior quality is absolutely amazing, the carpet is plush and the fabric on the seats is extremely durable and comfy. The dashboard still looks like new, no fading or cracking at all. Even at 80 MPH, there is not a single squeak or rattle from anything. I've had no troubles with the engine at all, it's got plenty of HP and pickup, and cruises at 70 with no problem. I've had to do nothing but regular maintenance. Oil changed every 7500K. I've replaced a thermostat and muffler, all normal-wear things. I look forward to many more years of extreme reliability from my favorite Honda!
pereira
I simply love driving it especially the five speed one, I love the way it shifts. It's a lot of fun. I have one that used to be automatic but I changed the transmission to a five speed one.
soso times
it was certainly pretty white with blue interior. but problems sprang up. the 5 speed stick isnt very forgiving. it started squeaking and some dumb shop in austin got me to replace it just for that to happen again after a few months. long story long it ended up dead after an accident that couldve been avoided if id had better tires. mileage was good, north of 30 lot of the time.

Car shuts off randomly while driving....
I got this Honda from a Honda dealer and friend who sold it to me with no problems, it passed inspection and everything else with flying colors. I should also mention the engine had only 113,000 miles on it when I got it, this is considered "just breaking it in" for a Honda. I had the belts replaced, regular oil changes and tune-ups, this car was looked after, but keep reading...it all started when the car began to have a hard time maintaining a charge after it was started up, so we got it a new Battery, fine for a while...then, it shut off on the highway twice, Im glad I walked away from both. In addition to the stalling, it had problems in the winter too, but it gets worse....
