Love the truck but hate the costly repairs

My favorite truck I have owned but does have some drawbacks. First, if you can’t jump a curb without popping a tire and bending a rim, then 22” rims don’t belong on a truck. The $2k to replace the magna ride shocks made me a little upset because you have to replace both front at same time and the regular shocks were $70. However, the ride quality is superb and handling when towing is excellent. Second, at 125000 miles I had to replace rods and lifters over $6k. That being said I have enjoyed the powerful 6.2 v8 a lot and getting 22mpg on the highway is nice. The 8 speed transmission has been kinda rough and clanks into gear sometimes even since it was new but it’s still going strong at 135k mi. Wish the gps and apple play would connect without a cord because sometimes it won’t work but cleaning or replacing cord fixes the issue. Lastly, why would they make a crew cab without rear air? I constantly have to direct my vents off of me for rear passengers. Overall, the powerful 6.2, towing, ride comfort, gas mileage, and luxury have made this my favorite truck to ever own.

Great truck as far as features but mechanically, I agree with some of the reviews. Transmissions horrible it shifts hard on 1st to 2nd gear, had to replace the a/c condenser which was not cheap had to pay to refill just to see where the leak is at then once leak was found then had to pay to replace and refill with Freon and now my fuel pump check engine light is on as well which is not cheap at all ….. Gm could’ve done a better job and far as reliability. Wish they would own up to they’re mistakes on these transmissions and trucks

I have a 2017 gmc sierra 6.2l 8 speed auto, bought used with under 8k miles (probably should have been a sign) I have a fully loaded SLT ALL terrain package, the first few weeks the truck was perfect it was a dream truck of mine to own, then it started going down hill from there first thing is the transmission sucks clunks really bad on the 1-2 shift bad enough to shake the truck, took it to GMC several times, after a few times they replaced some oil pump for the tyranny and went to a different fluid, fixed the problem for a few days they now say its normal, then once i got to about 45k miles it through and engine code (cold start/ruff idle) after researching it a bit people are saying the it refers to the injectors and that they are going out. GM found nothing wrong with the truck and won't fix it, soon after the A/C went out on the truck completely wont cool at all just blows hot, I now hate this truck and wish I would have bought a different brand for a 50k truck its just disappointing that GM won't stand behind there product. Family members of mine have worked for GM for over 40 years and have owned nothing but GM, but they have definitely lost us as a customer!

i had leased a 2017 denali truck in 2020, i was happy with the comfort features and the truck for the most part but the transmission had issues from the get go. after several dealer visits and investigations nothing was done, the problem persisted and i returned the truck as soon as the lease was up.
