Used 2017 GMC Acadia Consumer Reviews
Super frustrated with my GMC Denali!!!
When I park my car and hit the button to turn car off, put in “park” my dash registers that my car is still in gear. It alerts a “Shift To Park” sometimes it takes me 10 minutes of starting and putting my car in and out of gear. It’s frustrating, and could be dangerous. Something needs fixing!

GMC Acadia
Vehicle rides good but our Acadia frequently needs some type of major repair and repairs are very expensive. We won't be buying this vehicle and probably not from GMC again

Shift to park issues!!!
Beware as this vehicle has a major problem that the dealerships cannot yet fix. When trying to turn the car off you get an error message that says the vehicle needs to be in park but it is already in park. Each time this occurs you must spend approximately 30 seconds to 5 minutes fiddling around trying to get the car to recognize the car is in park. Very annoying. Not crazy about the start stop feature and the keyless entry system is always honking the horn at you. Lots of inconvenient features on this car.

Great Automobile! Car is so responsive.
This is my third new GMC Acadia - the reliability is exceptional, extremely comfortable ride, abundant amenities and great storage space for travel.
Live with your mistakes
PRO’s; “New, October 1 st, 2018 Acadia Denali,” Love the looks, performance ok, (V6), fuel economy, ok, (19 mpg city & 26 mph hwy avg), all of the bells & whistles, 2 free oil changes. The CON’s; it rides like a truck, a rough riding one. I have a 2010 Sportstrac Limited that rides and drives much better that my Acadia. Dealer has said there isn’t any way to fix the ride, they even lowered the tire pressure down to 30 psi & it didn’t help, just made it handle worse, vehicle continues to creep towards the left lane, (dealer said the fixed the issue, not so, outside fumes enter into the cabin, especially diesel & exhaust from vehicles in traffic, that’s even with the controls set on circulation. For the $49,980 I spent on it I could have bought 2 Foreign cars. At least I wouldn’t expect them to have the aledged quality that GMC advertises. I made a big(expensive), mistake but I garrentee it won’t happen again !. PS:It is a 2018 not 2017, had front end alignment, tire pressures from 30# to 35#, rebalanced all tires, no help. UPDATE: At 20,000 miles there are a couple of thing that has changed. #1 the latch for the rear sun roof shade has been broken for 3 months. Dealer continues to tell me it’s on back order. #2 the blower fan motor makes a low squealing sound, ever since it was brand new. #3 there is a noise the sounds like it’s coming from the drive train, like a bearing is slowly grinding itself up. #4 the automatic adjusting rear view mirrors will not return to the original setting after backing up, you have to manually reset them to see out of them correctly. Dealer says they can’t duplicate any of the sounds & they can’t duplicate the mirror issues. Dropped 1 star on the overall rating. Like my previous statement, biggest mistake I’ve made in purchasing a GMC product, won’t happen again. “ UPDATE”, The driver side rear view mirror is suppose to reset To your pre set position every time you back up. It will not return to the original setting. I’ve had it in the shop numerous times. There was a clicking sound coming from the left front when turning to the left, thought it might be a CV joint. Dealer said that the left front lug nuts has a recall on them, just the left front wheel, really. Still have grinding noise coming from trans / motor. Dealer said it sounds like the new ones or they can’t duplicate the issue. It’s about time they come up with a new saying, I’ve heard this one on every issue since 2018, boy want a piece of junk, a $48,987.00 piece if junk. This is the 2 nd GM vehicle that I have owned since 2013 and I have bought my LADT GM vehicle. The first was a 2013 Terrain Denali. After 4 air conditioning replacements and a rebuilt engine because of bad rings I traded for another piece of junk, the 2018 Acadia Denali. Rest assured there WONT be another GM mistake ! ! !. Now there is some type of electrical issue with it because the battery has been replaced 2 times already. The alternator gauge will show approx. 12-13 volts for a extended period of time, the radio will automatically change stations and will put a bunch of strange numbers on the touch screen. I took a picture of the screen and showed it to the service Mgr. He says they don’t have a clue how to fix it. They keep telling me that my battery is under warranty and to just have it replace when it goes dead again. This has happened 2 times and has left my wife stranded. Car has to be jumped started to get it back to the shop. “UPDATE”: the radio makes a clicking sound and then changes the entire screen on the dash. I have to reprogram the stations every time. Dealer says they can’t find anything wrong with it. I had to turn the automatic rear view mirrors off because they wound NEVER stay where they were set but the drivers rear view mirror still has a mind of its own. Every time I get in it the mirror changes position. I was rear ended 6 months ago, got it repaired, tried to trade it only to find out that there is a carfax report on my vehicle and the trade value was reduced by 6-7 thousands dollars. Looks like I will keep my suv until the wheels fall off of it. All of this has been a very valuable learning lesson for me. I have tried to trade my Acadia for anything that is comparable in size & accessories but NO dealer would offer more than rough trade, (NADA), so it looks like I will be driving it until the wheels fall off. I did buy an extended warranty on it and I have had to use it numerous times in the past year. At least the extended warranty fixed the issues each time. With the prices for a different vehicle I have reached a decision and that is I have learned to be comfortable being uncomfortable. I’ve had my Acadia in the shop to fix the drivers rear view mirror fixed for the last 4 years. It never goes to its previous setting. They work on it and say it’s fixed and within 2 weeks it’s right back like it was before. This is very dangerous unless you reset the mirror before you drive it. I paid 45 + thousands dollars for this ? Bottom line is I will not ever buy another GMC from this dealer in Dickinson Texas.
