Best Ford ever built!
Purchased the car my senior year of high school! From the moment I set eyes on it I was hooked! Upon driving it I fell deeper in love as the 4.6lt engine blasted me past every car in sight! Ran flawlessly until I wrapped it around a tree, car held up incredibly, came out of accident without a scratch and it still ran! Would def recommend to anyone looking for a nice reliable car that's fun to drive. But be careful when driving because the car is a lot faster than it looks. Not recommended for new teen drivers!
Be Warned!!!
I bought my car because it looked awesome, the price was low, and it had low mileage (54,000 when I got it in 2001). Ford had a customer care on the head gaskets for the 3.8L. Mine blew with 80,000 miles. Ford wouldn't do anything to help me out with it, even though it was well under the 100,000 mile extended warranty. Mechanic at dealership told me that a majority of those that blow head gaskets that he's fixed end up locking up about a month later because of the damage already done from the head gaskets. Not going to buy anything Ford ever again. Terrible gas mileage too. I had to fill up about 1.5 times a week. Expensive when gas shoots up.
94 T-Bird 4.6 liter
Great fun, acceleration, handling and more. Not enough cup holders is only gripe. 16 to 20 mpg overall, mostly city.
Best car ever owned
Purchased at 58,000 miles, replaced tranny at 62ooo and now at 185,000. 1 water pump. Nothing else except door jamb hinges, gears in electric windows, O D button on gear shifter. Only 3rd set of brakes, tires. Great performance, steering. Fast, reliable, 19-20 in town, 28 on road. Do Not run OD under 55, do not hit pass gear on wet streets, no heavy gas on wet corners and it will last a life time. Front end wears out around 170,000. (Costly) Best car ever owned. Ford needs to bring it back, drop some others.
94 tbird has been good to me
Bought my V8 tbird new in 94. After 135,000 miles only things ever to go wrong were water pump and alternator. Some little pieces of interior trim broke but nothing major. Transmission used to make the typical annoying shutter from the torque converter but was a simple fix 3 years ago with synthetic trans fluid. Only major complaint is faiding of paint on roof. It should last longer than 8 years.
