I leased a 2016 ford fusion se with lots of packages. 1.5L engine, leather seats, sunroof, nav, power seats, heated seats, heated mirrors, backup sensors. It was great. lots of features and i got a great price.. Within a few weeks after i got it, there was a popup on my screen saying the gps sd card is faulty. so had to replace that and havent had a problem since then. other cons: POOR FUEL MILEAGE. Highway i can achieve maximum 32mpg and city (living in long island, ny) achieving 19 mpg on a good day. other sedans are much more productive. DO NOT get the goodyear eagle sport tires. i am not a crazy driver yet i had 2 of them torn up at about 20k miles and another 2 were wearing down low at around 25k miles. another thing - battery died at 34,000 miles. right before my lease ended. acceleration: you definitely feel the turbo lag from 0-30 but in speeds upwards of 60mpg, it does great and especially fun to drive in sport mode. I also feel like it would not be a long term car because by the end of 3 years, i am hearing the speakers crackling, the bluetooth isnt connecting right to my phone. these things should not be happening on a car that is barely 3 years old. also - front seat headroom isnt great with the leather and sunroof. rear seat headroom is ok. but legroom isnt too great in the rear. i'd say below average for a midsize sedan. trunk is larger than expected! probably my favorite quality. plenty of cargo space in all seats to store your stuff. lots of junk spaces. car looks great in and out. driving it is fun. cornering is fun. interior knobs and gauges look luxurious especially at night with the blue lighting. i just dont get the feel like this is the type of car that can last past 100,000 miles. paid 210 with taxes and first month payment upfront. very good deal but i do not like the people at the dealership now.

Too many issues past 100,000 miles

I bought my fusion in 2017 and it had 13,000 miles on it. It is a 1.5 Ecoboost. It now has 115,000. Primarily used for highway commuting. It's a comfortable, sporty car and I enjoy driving it. The 1.5T is a bit under powered - the turbo kicks in more than it should in my opinion, causing jerky-driving and the MPG to be so-so (I average 28.5). Was a great vehicle until 100,000 miles. Then the coolant leak issue happened to me, which is common in fords ecoboost engines. This caused me to replace the water pump, timing belt, and intake manifold. I was very lucky that the coolant didn't reach the engine or I would have needed a full engine replacement. A few months later, replaced the vacuum purge valve (fuel system). A month later, alternator. The past 8 months I've spent $4,000 in repairs. What's next, transmission? Suspension? I just don't trust this car anymore. Love it, but very expensive repairs seem to keep coming my way for no reason. I would stay away from this car, especially past 100,000 miles. Mine will be put for sale shortly.

I have this as a rental, and I am disappointed

As a car guy, I've owned and driven lots of cars. This is one of my most frustrating rentals. I have been more comfortable in a nissan versa note than this. Why? Getting in and out is like sitting on the ground. But also, the legroom, if you cut off the person in the back seat, is horrible. And there is a place to rest your non-pedal foot, but it is sloped sideways. And the brake pedal is too far up in the air from the accelerator. The part of the roofline where you get in and out, I have banged my head many times and the seat is down really low. The roofline is cut so low it doesn't allow you to do a drive through window very well. I'm 5'11'' and about 275lbs, so I'm a bigger guy. But I've gotten into other smaller cars without this much trouble. The car is well equipped for the price point, but that is where the love affair ends. Oh, and the trunk space is very generous, a big bonus. But for comfort, my wife and I cannot wait for this to go back and to get my RAV4 hybrid back on the road - it is having the windshield replaced due to a crack from rock chips. I had much more comfort in a Camry than with this Ford Fusion. The car has a backup camera, but the screen is really small....really, really small. The air seems to struggle to get cool, but it does have little air vents for rear passengers. The car has a nice feel to it, as far as the finishes, but the space/comfort thing is a problem. It handles well, but the ride is rough and bumpy. That is being said by a guy who normally rides in smaller SUV's.....so that should be a warning. If you like a smooth ride, get something else. Over even the smallest of bumps, it feels like there is a guy with a sledgehammer banging on the floor of the car. And it really thrashes you about too. The rear brake lights are LED and bright. The dash area has plenty of info, and follows the current Ford theme. the radio and controls are within easy reach. The visibility isn't too bad. And the equipment on the SE is good compared to others in its class. But when I priced out what they start going up to in price, after the SE, or when you put some features into it, and I cannot believe people are buying these. I would not buy one of these...I'd highly encourage you to look around and rent one before buying.....I'm so glad I never entertained buying one of these. My CMAX I owned, while full of problems and sounding like a hupmobile, still had more comfort than this.

I don't know much about these cars. I just recently purchased a 2016 fusion se. I liked how it handled when I test drove it, the ride is smooth and it's sharp looking. Anyway, I have only had the car for almost 4 weeks and noticed going downhill the rpm's run high and the car slows down a bit. Is this normal? I've already had a couple problems with it and have had to take it back to the dealer which is a 45 min trip one way and I'm just tired of dealing with them

My third Ford Fusion, and I love it!

This is my third Fusion. I had a 2014 Fusion SE. I traded it for a 2016 2.0 turbo with the appearance package. I love this car! The engine is way better, it's more powerful and quiet, it feels like driving a V6. The 18" black alloy wheels, rear spoiler and fog lights do make the car look nicer. I honestly recommend to get the car with the 1.5T or the 2.0T engine, because it's a better ride than the 2.5. Make sure you get all the features you want on the car so you have no regrets. The cash back incentives were unbelievable on this car.
