Recent Purchase, Happy with it
Great car. I get about 21 MPG in the city. Still learning how to use all the technology available, but so far so good. Once you know how to word the commands it the system runs pretty well. A lot of compliments on the cars looks and how smooth the car is when being driven on bumpy roads. I was expecting there to be vision issues, but I haven't had any.

Great Buy
This was a used purchased. 2016 with 22k miles on it. Research price thoroughly. If you know your price range, salesman can't high ball you. Edmunds.com was a big help with their website. Do not deal with corner used car dealerships. By corner, I mean that you will be able to tell once you walk thru the door. The facility will be basic and poorly maintained and salespersons would be obvious. CARMAX is good for no haggling. They are very professional, but prices will be slightly higher than dealerships and will sell you warranties while some of the dealerships will give them to you with the purchase. For instance, I purchased my vehicle for $800 under Carmax price and received the 7yr 100k mile factory train warranty with my price. Carmax and corner dearlerships would sell it to me with purchase.

Owner's manual sucks.
I really like the car. Too bad I can't find out any details about it. Car enthusiasts do like to know what they are buying. The manual and spec sheet are sorely lacking in technical details of the car and Ford's web site isn't any better, and has no search function! The owner's manual devotes half of it's pages to "connectivity". It reads like it was written by a teenager that's nose is stuck in a cell phone all day. The only way to figure out the touch screen instructions are to spend an hour in the driveway playing with it. There are features like "valet mode" which are mentioned twice in other contexts but never explained or listed in the index. Having written many tech manuals, this wouldn't pass muster. The emergency flashers were inadvertently turned on while driving. The owners manual indicated the switch was on the dashboard but the picture of the dashboard pointed out everything except the switch. The red triangles on the switch do not have any contrast with the flat black of the switch body and the sun angle made them invisible. The brakes are way too sensitive. When I let someone drive the car that is their first comment after getting their nose out of the windshield. The heater doesn't put enough air into the foot wells for winter driving. My feet are cold when I get into the car here in Tahoe. When the heater reaches the set temperature the air flow switches to cold air instead of ramping down. Still really like the car. The front end geometry makes the car follow camber in the road surface so it dodges around. Especially where on roads where studded tires have worn two depressions in the road. The dealer service dept. found that the toe-in was at the high end of the tolerance. When corrected the problem was minimized.

NOT PLEASED
Absolutely loved this car in the beginning when it was new. It now has 31,500 miles on it and it can't stay out of the dealership for repairs. Ford is having issues with the 2.0 liter Ecoboost engines- My dealer has seen 5 so far that needed a new engine just like mine. The entire top end of the engine needed replacing in October of 2017- Issues persisted and in April of 2018 the entire engine needed to be replaced. My check engine light keeps coming on over & over showing an overboost code- this has happened since the car was a few months old and now still happens even after a complete brand new engine. I'm getting rid of this car.
