Nice car considering I drove a rental
This car is very well designed as far as its interior and exterior looks. The seats really hold you in place which is another huge plus. I would never buy a car with the lowest available engine or technology options so this review is for the low end car. The acceleration seemed sufficient even with 4 adults in the car. I love the convenient of the controls and the leg room. I am 5'11" and not fat so most cars have decent room for me. The car handled well and the steering was really stiff which took a few hours to get used to but once I did the car was very easy to drive. I would buy one of these cars and thought it was much nicer than the Camry I rented the previous year. All in all I loved the car's style, performance, interior space.

Get the 2.0!
I have the 1.5 EcoBoost. The only selections in the drop down menu were 2.5 or 2.0. I have the Sport Appearance Package with the spoiler, rims, etc. For a "generic" mid sized sedan this car looks good! However, my main gripes are: Poor acceleration and bad gas mileage. I commute 100 miles a day all freeway. I an getting 29 MPG. In my 2016 Dodge Challenger with a 300 hp V6 that weighs more I get 27 MPG. If the Fusion got 33-35 MPG on the highway the power would be fine. This tells me that the engine is working too hard. My other big gripe is about the Infotainment system. The screen is small especially in a vehicle equipped with a back up camera. Ford has made it nearly impossible to replace the stereo unit. The stereo does not sound very good also. At least I can change the speakers. There is an annoying squeak in the back seat that started at 40K miles. I love the looks and ride of the car.

2016 Ford Fusion Titanium AWD w/EcoBoost
Picked up this car @ the end of May & have to say, so far, it has lived up to past reviews; it is a TERRIFIC car in all categories. The ride, build quality, comfort, tech features, etc. - it's all on point! The interior is VERY quiet & the sound system is like having the Boston Symphony Orchestra riding along with you. I have owned MANY cars thru the years & have to say that by far, this is the best sounding system I have EVER heard; figures, with 12 speakers! The features are all customizable & you can turn on / off, the things you don't need / use. The owner's manual is quite extensive, I use it as a reference, rather than read it in its entirety! Don't walk, RUN to your dealer & get one!
fusion
The 2016 seems better to me than the 2017; the shifter on the 2017 reminds me of the disasterous early 1970" chrysler push button one; I personally prefer to have a shift handle that is easy to feel the gear the car is in.

2nd Fusion
This is my second fusion. I bought my last in 2014 as a 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid, with a little over 50k miles. Got amazing fuel economy until about 135k miles when the hybrid battery needed to be replaced. Never had a problem with it other than that. I researched all my car options again when I decided to replace it and purchased a 2016 SE with the 2.5 with 30k miles. I liked my old fusion, but this one is a whole different level. Much more space inside, despite not being noticeably larger outside. Much more comfortable, quieter at all speeds and nicer to drive. The trunks huge- trips to Home Depot and IKEA are no big deal at all. I am 6’4 and if the drivers seat is in my normal position, I can get out and sit directly behind it without my knees touching the back of the seat. I definitely recommend the car to anyone looking, I got the base engine due to concerns about actual fuel economy of the ecoboost engines. I’m a father of 3 and having a sporty or spirited driving experience on a daily basis jut doesn’t appeal to me. Safety and comfort are my top concerns!
