Now, despite the fact that I've worked for Ford for about 5 months now so I had a lot more time to study the car without being pestered by car salesmen. Now having said that, I had plenty of time to study this car and make a well informed decision. I've owned the car for about 2 months now, have put about 1800 miles on it and still catch myself looking back at the car when I get out. It's an extremely impressive, stylish, and agile car. This car never ceases to impress. I've been a Honda car owner all my life but after doing hard research, driving different vehicles for a couple months, and seeing different features, the Fusion rose above the rest.

I bought my Fusion new and have owned it for close to two years (22,000 miles). Love the styling inside and out. My main complaint is activating the navigation system with voice commands. I believe it should work seamlessly like Google Maps - "..directions to 123 S Main St, CityName". Not even close. I have demoed this to friends and it is so awful to engage the navigation - it is comical. It will not accept a generic command and forces you though the questions it needs. Takes way too long and frequently does not even work. The Sync voice command interface is inconsistent as well. I average about 27.3 mpg with mostly highway commuter driving conditions. I am pleased with this given the level of performance this car delivers. The car is a bit jerky at low speeds. Seems like a transmission design issue. This is not a huge distraction, but I hope Ford addresses it in the future. Huge trunk - seats fold down easily for additional storage when needed. Love the Rudy Red paint. Get lots of compliments. Overall, I am very pleased.

To steal a line form Buick, this isn't your grandmother's Ford! Wow, my new Ford Fusion SE with 1.5 L Ecoboost is awesome! My previous car was a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6, so naturally I test drove a new Accord, then tested a Fusion. I was amazed, the Fusion out-classed the Accord in every regard. The Accord's V6 was a bit quicker, but the Ecoboost's tiny 1.5 liter turbo is close, and the 7 to 10 extra mpg at interstate speeds (70+ mph) more than makes up for the small difference. The Fusion is quieter, rides and handles better and is way better looking than an Accord which has changed little since 2008. Ford Sync is easy to learn despite some reviews to the contrary and the stereo rocks!

I have to say I really like this car, it drives great. Recently it was in for a service and some recall items to be taken care of, nothing major, the dealer gave me a 2014 Fusion with the 2.0L ecoboost engine, oh man let me tell you this engine runs strong compared to the 2.5L I have. If I had known it was available in the SE model I would have defiantly bought it. If you are going to get one of these good looking cars, get it with the 2.0L it is so smooth and powerful, you will regret it if you don't. Go drive both and you'll see what I am talking about.

I put about 20,000 miles a year on my cars and I wanted something comfy and big I'm 6'7" so no sunroof but other wise I fit just fine in the car. I had a 2007 Fusion with the 4-cyl and a manual trans and compaired to this car I get 2 MPG better and gained about 70 Hp...I'd say that was a win for Ford. My 07 never broke just kept going and going. Hopefully my 14 will do the same. I almost allways had manual transimissions and this it the first auto that I like. Love the down shift when slowing down and having the paddles to take over when I want to.

I have noticed over the past couple of months that I am having a problem with a waxy material running down over my headlights. I had the service manager from the local Ford dealer take some pictures and send them to Ford Canada. I did not hear of any results until a number of other new Ford owners started coming in with the same problem. It is a problem that is not unique to the Fusion, but is apparently happening to several 2014 models. After a few weeks and several phone calls to the dealer they informed me that Ford is using this waxy material as a form of rustproofing on the inside of the front fenders. When the temperature goes up this stuff is melting and running down over the lights.

Took delivery of a 2014 Black on Black Titanium with the 2.0 in March 2014 and have 65k on it now. I drive a lot and comfort, safety, reliability mean a lot. I have driven well over a million miles on numerous cars I have owned in the last 20 years as a traveling consultant and this is one, great car! Don't bother with any other power plant than the 2.0 IMO. Fit and finish has been perfect and it has not seen a shop other then oil and tire rotations but one time for an electrical glitch. It was a simple fix. My only issue is I could use more trunk space and Ford does not seem to use very good all season tires. I will be putting snow tires on it this winter.

I only have approx. 22000 miles on her. I am getting 19-23 city and approx. 31 hwy. . The car drives as if it was much more expensive, very quiet and smooth. A lot of car for the money. Many compliments from people. Front Passenger seat sits to low, I would order the next one with a pwr. passenger seat. Not a rattle to be found, and all the electronics work as they should. Over all, I am very satisfied. I almost bought a Toyota Camry, until I drove this car. The Fusion is much more car for the money

Fusion into repair problem

Purchased used with 25k miles, still had remaining of 36 k warranty. At 35,700 miles brought in for oil change, ended up needing a water pump and rear brakes. Rear brakes not front brakes? Water pump was covered. 600 miles later lost power steering on the highway, and needed a steering rack, $1,900 not covered as I was 300 miles over the warranty. Ford said too bad. 2 weeks later the same part failed again. Now 8,000 miles later a very loud rattle in the rear is a broken shock. The fusion is unreliable, expensive to own due to repairs. Back to Japanese cars, trying ford again turned out to be a mistake

I bought the 2014 Ford Fusion S (2.5) in ruby red Metallic paint. Although new car search engines don't show the premium red on the S model, indeed it is available. I saved a lot over the SE but lack some of the SE bells and whistles like power front seat, and rear view camera. The only visible difference on the exterior is the rocker panels are black vinyl which works very well with the red. At 1500 miles we took a 2000 mile trip. I kept careful records of the mileage. It seems that the results were 35 mpg highway and 26 city. I was very pleased with the results with the 2.5 liter base engine. It had plenty of power driving over the mountains of West Virginia The ride is incredibly smooth.

I test drove quite a few cars before I bought my 1 owner 2014 Fusion Titanium with 25,000 miles on it (still under Ford's 3/36000 warranty) for a killer price. The car was very comfortable, peppy for a 4 cylinder and has a nice ride. The car performed well on my test drive and when I picked it up to take it home and about 20 miles from the dealer I bought it from it began behaving erratically, losing power and then shifting back into gear before the little wrench lite came on telling me to get to a dealership quickly. (The used car dealer I bought it from has been far more supportive than Ford and even offered to return my money and sell me something else while they deal with Ford, but I really liked the car and foolishly opted to deal with Ford myself) I arrived after the service department had closed so I asked about a loaner to get me home. I was told service has the loaners and they're closed. They helped me find the number to a car rental place, but the only one open was about 15 miles away and didn't deliver. After resigning myself to the fact I was probably just going to sleep in the car in the lot until morning and telling the supervisor the same they freed up someone to drop me off at the rental car place. I wish I had thought to just take a taxi home, but I was pretty stressed and frustrated and wasn't thinking as clearly as normal. The next day the dealership called and said 5th gear is out, but it's covered under the warranty. Great! Then came "It may take up to 30 days to get parts". I specifically asked and was told this car is not one of the ones affected by the transmission recall. They asked me if I wanted it fixed or if I wanted to take my car with no 5th gear. Hmmm, think I'll wait for it to be drive-able again rather than risk getting stuck on the side of the road. I authorized them to start the repair and asked again about covering a rental or loaner and they said they would have to pull the transmission first and break it down to figure out what they needed then Ford would decide whether or not I get a loaner or rental approved. They said it would take two days for the removal and breakdown. When I followed up they asked for two more days. When I followed up again they couldn't even tell me if they had pulled the transmission yet and asked me to keep my rental for 3 more days, probably on my dime, while they worked on it. So after having the car a week they apparently have done an initial diagnostic and nothing more. Wishing I would have just taken my check back at this point and bought something else as I have dwindling faith they will manage to get it fixed correctly any time this month.

I've had quite and experience with buying my first car. Make sure that you check the car inside and out. Test drive it to make sure you feel comfortable driving it. I bought the car not realizing it was bigger than I thought but, over over the car was a beauty. Unfortunately the transmission was bad so I traded it in. But, over all the car was very nice.

My last six cars included four Acuras and one Mercedes. And I am VERY pleased with how the Fusion feels when I drive it. I have the SE with the 1.5 ecoboost engine. Options include black 18" rims, MyFordTouch with GPS, sunroof, luxury package, and remote start. I really wanted a 2015 with the Terracotta package (love the color, and the package throws in the sports seats from the Titanium) but the deals on the 2014s were too good to ignore. Plus I loved the silver SE with black rims on the dealer lot. VERY sporty yet the ride with the 18" rims is fine (don't get the 19's as the ride gets jittery!).
Looks nice but poor execution.

So, I have had my 2014 2.0 AWD Fusion for a little over a year now. I purchased it as a highway crusier for work and because of the advertised fuel economy. I also rent quite a few cars as well for work to balance out the mileage but still managed to put 24k miles on my car in 1 year. What I like: The car is very comfortable and quite to drive over long distances. My favorite part would be the front seats. I like how they are contoured and support my back while driving. The car is also very quiet while driving. The stereo is also sounds quite nice. The trunk in the car is huge and I have been able to haul all kinds of stuff that I have not been able to put in my car before. Also, the backup camera/sensors are quite nice and convienient. What I do not like: MPG: The MPG is no where near what Ford claims. I mentioned earlier that I rent quite a few cars for work and I almost always hit the EPA rated highway mileage or I am close to it. With the Fusion (EPA rated 31 MPG) I am lucky to hit 28 MPG on the highway, 25-26 is typical and I have even seen as low as 22 MPG. Needless to say I am very disappointed. I have even tried overinflating the tires by a few PSI to see if that helps to no avail. Premium gas also does not make a difference. Transmission: The transmission is probably the worst that I have driven. The common hard shift between 2nd and 3rd is almost always present and the dealer said this is all operating within specification according to their computer (I saw this with my own eyes while driving with the technician). Now, if I put the car into sport mode and let the car shift on its own it feels like a rookie manual transmission driver. It constantly jerks while down-shifting and up-shifting. This also raises concerns with long term transmission reliability as the shocks to the transmission cannot be good in the long term. HVAC: The automatic HVAC controls just pain do not work well, especially in the months where heat is required. What happens is that after car warms up and the cabin temperature it starts blowing cold air. Now, why would anyone want that? Also, the fan controls do not go to a low enough setting when controlled manually. Tires: Not a problem with the car but Ford put poor tires on the car for snow traction. Engine: Like other reviews of the 2.0 Fusion, the car seems underpowered for the engine rating. Windows: It is not possible to just put the driver's window down on its own and drive. If this is done there is a horrible buffeting (this might not be the best term to describe this) that happens inside the cabin. The manual even calls this out and the solution is to open another window. This just shows poor engineering on Ford's part. Sync: This is not so much an issue with Sync but more so with any car with touch controls and not real buttons. The controls do not have a place in a car. Tactile buttons will always work better. You can reach over and feel your way around and find the control without hitting 5 other things at the same time. The same goes for touch screens. It forces you to be very precise and that means more time with eyes not on the road. I know there are the steering wheel controls and the arrow buttons are not responsive enough and it still means time with eyes not on the road to follow the screen by the speedometer. I will avoid any vehicle with touch controls in the future. Visibility: The A and C pillars are quite large and do hamper visibility. More than most other cars that I have driven. The rear view mirror also does not adjust enough for my liking. I just cannot tilt it high enough for my liking and I have the driver's seat in its lowest possition. Final thoughts: I would not buy a Fusion again. I am not going to sell it as it does not make financial sense but I am not going to buy another.

I absolutely love my 2014 Ford Fusion SE 1.5L Ecoboost! I just happened to be at a Ford Dealership with a friend picking up her car that was serviced when I first saw the 2014 Ford Fusion. It's sportiness caught my eye amongst all the other cars on the show room floor. I was shocked when I found out it was a Ford Fusion. This dealership also sell Lincoln etc. I test drove the Infiniti G37, Mercedes C300, BMW 328I, Acura TSX and TL and others. The 2014 Ford Fusion was the first car that I immediately fell in love with! I was amazed at all the features I was able to get for my budget of under $35k. leather, sunroof, mytouch with nav,rear camera, heated seats, parking assist, etc.

I LOVE my Fusion S w/ 2.5L 6spd auto. I bought this car as an everyday driver to and from work 75 mi round trip. I drive my 06 Mustang GT convertible for fun but for everything else this car is perfect and a great value, including impressing customers! Smooth, Quiet, Attractive and 175hp when I need it. I'm getting 38-41 MPG on highway, 30 in suburbs, 36 combined.

I bought a 2014 Ford fusion, with 33,000 miles on it. Less then a week owning it & the transmission started slipping while accelerating & slamming into reverse. Took it to a Ford dealer & I was told it needed a new transmission. Instead of replacing it though, they replaced parts in it for 2 months.. Which never solved the problem. Ford kept calling & saying it was fixed, but when we would test drive it, the SAME PROBLEMS existed. Ford direct was of no help. After 2 months of Ford having my car, they finally replaced the transmission, but the slipping between gears STILL exists. The warranty on these cars is a joke.. Ford had replaced numerous parts to no avail, had engineering involved to no avail, and finally had a regional technician drive the car & order a new transmission. Don't buy a Ford. The time, the hassle, the inconvenience was NOT worth it. No one at Ford took responsibility for the delay and even said "we've never seen it take this long for repairs before.." but STILL took even longer. Completely incompetent company. The Ford regional service lady even got involved after 2 weeks, and promised to speed things along & keep me informed but again- she had no information, no solutions & the problem was still prolonged.

Unfortunately someone decided red means go at an intersection and totaled my 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium after I had purchased it about 40 days prior. But here's my take on the car. This is an absolutely fantastic vehicle. The 2013 was a nice redesign but the engine reliability ratings took a hit compared to the 2012, which receives close to perfect scores across the board according to JD Power. I was coming from a 2011 Chevy Malibu V6, which I ditched because of engine problems and poor gas mileage. This, by comparison, is a DREAM to drive. The steering is responsive and the cornering is excellent for a mid-size sedan. There's plenty of power in the 2.0T engine that puts out about 240hp. The fuel efficiency in the 2.0T is still decent as I averaged about 25.3mpg combined hwy/city driving. I put about 2,700 miles on it in the 40 days I owned it because I drive a lot for work and decided to drive from Seattle to Spokane and back, which put on several hundreds of miles in one weekend. But everything about this car was incredible. I hope the Fusion can continue to climb the fuel efficiency charts as Ford is starting to make very good engines and building quality interior/exterior parts to compliment them. In terms of value, it's hard to beat a Fusion in the mid-size category. The crash experience that totaled the car showed me that this car is built very well. I was t-bones at about 35 mph and you had no idea I was hit looking at 3/4 of the car. The doors on the passenger side of the vehicle were toast and it would need extra body work and probably frame work which is why the car was totaled, but should 5 passengers have been in the car there wouldn't have been any injuries other than some whiplash or banging of hands/legs against the door or other parts of the car. The Sony 12-speaker system is fantastic compared to much of what's out there in a 6-speaker configuration. There's plenty of power to satisfy drivers even with windows down. The low-end performance could use a little bit of help as the speakers overdrive a bit on heavy bass tracks that feature sustained low-end tracks that also have some kind of low-end attack/punch (top-40 hip hop artists like Wiz Khalifa would be a good example of what I'm getting at), so you'll have to moderate the bass EQ to prevent the OD, but that's also only at about 75-80% volume. To be honest, you'd be crossing into enthusiast/audiophile territory if you had any more power and any better bass response, so you're getting quite a bit out of this system. The touchscreen interface takes some learning, but it's quite capable and just a little laggy for pressing on-screen buttons - nothing that will frustrate you though. If you're considering buying this car used, it's a good buy, especially once the 2014 has been out for 2-3 years as you'll find the Titanium packages for under $18k - a steal for the options you're getting. The car is also pretty comfortable and will surprise anyone riding along that hasn't been in a newer Fusion yet - I got a lot of "oh wow this is really nice" comments from people because it looks good on the outside and feels great on the inside. I'm 6' 2" and it offered plenty of room for me and usually worked out well for people sitting behind me too.

I like my fusion, it's beautiful. Here are the reasons I'm going back to Honda after this car. 1. My car is one year old. My back up camera has already quit working. Fortunately, it is covered under warranty. However, it still took a half day of vacation to go get it fixed. 2. The transmission is already acting up. 3. I get 16 MPG in the city and 21 on the highway 4. When I start the car, my the air from my vents smells like mildew.

I have brought my brand new vehicle in at least seven times(probably more) in roughly two years. That is absolutely unacceptable for a new car. I have outlined the major issues below that I've brought my vehicle into the dealership for. I can't trust this car to be reliable in the future, would you? At this point, I am fed up and on the verge of trading this car in and I will never recommend Ford to anyone. The regional area managers keep referring me back to their dealerships and they can't seem to correct the numerous issues with their product. All I've gotten from Ford is a Premium Care Extended Service Plan for 5yrs 75k for all of this....thanks for nothing! There's obviously issues with Ford and their designs/quality. The 635f transmission on this especially look it up it shouldn't even be out there but shows how much they care. Here's the list of my troubles with this: On February 5, 2015 - My vehicle was leaking transmission fluid at 6,412 miles. The front axle shaft assembly needed to be replaced. February 21, 2015 - Transmission was making a grinding noise, shifts rough randomly usually 1st to 2nd, flares shifting when cold, slams into gear from park to reverse randomly.(said couldn't reproduce problem) May 16, 2015 - Weather stripping on rear door was loose and the p/s wheel well cover was loose due to missing pins. June 16, 2015 - Light sensor was inoperable at 9,255 miles. (had them check transmission for same above...same answer) July 11, 2015 - Brought vehicle in for power steering recall. Mileage display faded in areas when hot inside (had them check transmission for same above...same answer. Now also can't replicate mileage display problem....) Feb 20th - Rear headliner hanging down.The audio speaker on the passenger side makes a vibrating noise during certain bass frequencies. The dealership disconnected it and then plugged it back in and they were not able to correct the issue. Reset ACM for trans helped for about one week...... May 7th - Passenger side speaker now sounding consistently terrible when wet and cold. Speaker was replaced. (had them check transmission for same above...same answer. Now also can't replicate mileage display problem....) I may have forgotten some of the pointless visits but as you can see 7 here that are legit things that had to be fixed and I'm at around 16,000 miles and I still have issues lingering especially this jerky transmission they say is fine. Says it all....

I have the 1.6 with the manual transmission. I love the Sync, the voice commands work so well, you can say the complete address all at once and it understands 95% of the time. Very comfortable ride and very quite. The only thing I don't like is the MPG, I do a lot of highway driving and I can't average more than 28, and I'm not driving hard. The car only has 3,000 miles, hopefully the MPGs will improve over time. Overall I'm very impressed, it's a lot of car for $30K.

Just replaced our cabin filter in our 2014 fusion. What a terrible design. 14000 miles couldn't take the smell it look like it had been in the dump when we took it out. When we turn the air on it stinks for a minute or two then goes away. Dealer can't fix it. Any suggestions live in montana pretty clean air

Overall nice car, but I've had transmission issues. Brought back to the dealer several times in order to prove that a hard shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gear was truly an issue. Finally had the transmission rebuilt under warrantee, but I still feel the car shift into gears.

Still an excellent choice. Now have 48,000 miles on a car purchased new in early '14. Small eco-boost is plenty powerful.. Averaging about 27MPG overall with mostly local driving. Nears 35 or 36MPG on the interstate. I'm a big guy and have no problems entering or exiting or with interior space. SE model with leather and MyFordTouch system is perfect for me. The large screen for the rear camera and the avoidance tones are really helpful. Have spent up to 5 or 6 hours in the drivers seat and have had no aches or pains. The driver seat is infinitely adjustable and the power passenger seat is also a neat feature for those traveling with me. The instruments are also adjustable to just what I want to see. USBs and a SD port is also a neat feature. This car was bought to replace an '07 Fusion SEL and it hasn't disappointed at all. The local Ford dealer provides very good service (nothing beyond regular oil changes and diagnostics) with reasonable pricing and relatively short wait times. It's near time to replace this - probably with a Ford SUV, but the overall experience with the '14 Fusion was nothing but positive.

I loved this car. It was the first car that I could consider as my own. Overall, it was a great car. Although, I would recommend getting the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. After 65,000 miles, my engine block cracked and was leaking coolant. The engine light came on one day and then went off and I didn’t think anything of it until one day, the temperature gauge said the car had overheated and then soon after, I lost acceleration. Until then, I loved Fords. The first Ford I drove was a 1994 Ford Explorer after I received my first driver’s license in 2000.

Just purchased a 2014 Fusion SE with the 1.5 Ecoboost, 201A PKG, Navigation and Technology PKG. In searching for a sedan for work, to replace an Impala, I was looking for something stylish, good performance, fun & comfortable to drive while maintaining some economy. Sounds like a lot to ask for, and all of that for under $30,000. The Fusion with the all of the options fit the bill. I only have 250 miles, and so I really cant tell you much yet, but the first 250 miles have been awesome. I will follow up at around 15,000 miles, and that should not take long, as I average about 20,000-30,000 per year.

I bought my 2014 Fusion used with almost 40,0000 miles. I now have 74,0000 and the transmission has slipped sick I've had it and it finally seized. The manufacturer warranty is only 64,000 miles so I now have to pay $4,000 and it has been in the shop for more than 2 weeks. Lots of other 2014 Fusions have a transmission recall but mine did not so it's my responsibility. The delearship that sold me the car sold me an extended warranty with everything BUT power train coverage in my contract BUT the pamphlet they provided the sales associate circled transmission rebuild coverage so neither Ford or the delearship will take responsibility.

Bought 2014 fushion se used with 20000 on it. Now 40000 miles and trans went out totally gone no warning nothing just started it and no drive.the sync system sucks. Its always doing its own thing. The air comes on when you want heat. Electronical nightmare. If i could go back in time i would not have bought this car and will never go to kunes ford in wisconsin ever again so rude people they promise you everthing until u sign then its all lies no one cares. They even said to me oh well you bought it its your problem now. Nice huh. Never again ford.

I traded in a base model BMW 328i for this Titanium Fusion because I wanted a longer wheel base and a better ride with more amenities. I have driven the car on one road trip that used to kill my body in the harsh riding BMW. There was no comparing the ride quality. I'm not comparing vehicles here just how my body reacts to the different road feel. All I can say is I have no regrets on the switch despite the odd looks from my neighbors and the dealership staff. This car drives every bit as well as my BMW and my VW CC prior to that. It's a bit more substantial than both of them which is exactly what I was after. The handling is tight but not harsh and I love the increased size of the car.

I love the way this car looks and drives.... but, it's never seen a gas station it doesn't want to stop at. Getting a combined mpg of less than 21 is simply not ok for a modern car with a 4 cylinder engine. I'm sure it's the AWD that's costing me at the pump, but I never expected to take such a huge hit over the EPA estimates. I'm no leadfoot, and I regularly get better than the EPA estimates in most my cars. Finally, I'll never buy another car with a built in navigation system. I've had one previously (in a '99 Volvo), but this one is much worse. First, it can't be used while the car is moving. I know. I know. It's a safety thing. But if my passenger can't use it while I'm driving, then it's simply not going to get used at all because we both have smart phones, and I'm not interested in stopping to fiddle with the nav system. And of course, the navigation system needs map updates. Ford sets the price on these at $149 per annual(ish) update. That's right, for the cost of a Garmin GPS with lifetime map updates, you can buy a one-time map update. Besides, why on earth would I buy another Garmin? I've got a smart phone. It's maps are updated in virtual real time, and the google traffic updates are FAR more accurate. I'm glad I didn't pay extra for the nav system, but it will always be there as a constant reminder of poorly implemented technology. Not sure how long I'll keep this car. I'm just not interested in pouring money into a gas hog. Updated a year later. My commute is much shorter now, so a tank of fuel lasts longer. MPG's still too low to be considered reasonable. Final update. The car has been quite reliable. I still never use the nav system, and I've seen the mpg move up. Took a 5,000 mile road trip and averaged 27 on the highway. Not really good, but not terrible.

First of all, the car looks great. Performance is sweet with the 2.0 Turbo with 240 horsepower. No trouble passing. I love not having to take the key out of my pocket to start the car, open the trunk, or lock the doors. Negatives: I'm 6 ft. tall and bang my head when I get in. Not a good design for any driver over 6 ft. or taller. The glove box is poorly designed. You have to move stuff around just to shut it and it's not very big. The Ford Touch screen sucks. Turns on by itself, and very distracting and frustrating trying to adjust heat and cool up and down by pointing your fingertips on a + or - sign. Give me old school round knobs that I can turn left or right. The trunk is long but not high enough to make loading any amount of luggage or cargo practical. There are no daytime running lights and no rear window wiper which would sure be nice. All in all a decent car but Ford needs to think of driver ease and practicality a lot more.

Bought this car after having a 2007 Fusion that I never had to fix anything on besides normal things like tires and brakes. I have 22k on the new car with only one problem the seatbelt in the back was made wrong. The dealer replaced it and every thing works great. My 2007 Fusion got about 26 MPG (2.3l 4-cyl manual transmision) on my run to work and had about a 160Hp my new Fusion is getting about 27-28 MPG with 240Hp (2.0l turbo)...I'd say that is a win for EcoBoost. My Ford Touch can be slow at times but I love it. Heated and Cooled seats are the best. The heated steering wheel needs work the outer rim heats up but nothing else. This is the first automatic trasmission that I have not hated. I usually drive manuals but my wife talked me into an automatic because she can't/won't drive one. Update... Nothing new to report after almost 40k no problems. Change oil, fill with gas and drive. When the construction on my way to work finishes, my gas milage should get better. Sitting sit idling in traffic jams does not help. Almost to 50k no problems. Everything works like it should. Love the cooled seats, well worth the money. Took it on a long trip and avaraged 32MPG over 2000miles not bad. The rain sensing winshield wipers work very well but have a hard time with fine road spray after a rain has stopped.

I love this car! I had to start with that. This is a really nice car. I had previously rented a Ford Fusion Titanium and I instantly fell in love with the way it drove and the really cool features it had. I was sad to give it back, lol! So I decided to get one myself. This car rocks! The Ford Fusion is a midsize, but it feels bigger on the inside. It handles like a smaller car. It has a very confident feel in the way it goes down the road. On the highway, it's like a luxury car. Very quiet and stable. I have the Titanium trim which has the 2.0 Turbo four. It pulls like a V6. The interior is also very nice. Nice soft touch plastics, an awesome sound system, and a great navigation system, make the interior a very inviting place. You also change the color of the mood lights. I have no worries that it'll be reliable and hold together for a long time. It feels like it'll last for a long time. **Update** It's been a year since I bought my Fusion and I'm still excited about it! I still get gitty walking to the car every time I drive it. It really is an enjoyable car to drive. I do a lot of highway travel and this is the best car I've owned for long distance travel. The seats are very comfortable, the ride is awesome. It is on the firm side of comfortable, but still very compliant. I haven't had any issues over the past year with it. It has been very reliable. I'm not planning on getting a new car for a while, but when time comes to get a new car, I would love to get another Fusion. It really is a great value and fun car to drive.

We traded 2009 Fusion SEL for 2014 SE and love it. It is the Ecoboost model and get great mileage and power plus the great ride!!

Best car I've ever owned. Quiet, responsive, fun to drive, roomy, did I mention quiet. My only complaint with the entire car is the trunk lid can get into the way of my head occassionally. :) I am still amazed at the gas mileage. I average 24-28. Have gotten as high as 41 and my very lowest was 19. This car beats any sedan I've driven.

The shifting is absolutely horrible. You will be coasting down a steep decline \ hill and it just down shifts automatically when your not expecting it and sometimes it doesn't shift at all pushing the RPM's to 4,000. Took it back to the dealer twice and they were not able to reproduce the problem. I emailed Ford and was first told that they were aware of the issue and that they are working on getting it resolved, but later I received another email telling me that the first email was a mistake. It's also really bad in Stop \ Go traffic.... it lurches between 1st and 2nd gears.

Purchased 2014 Fusion February 2014 and we absolutely loved the car. Great looks and loved the blacked out rims. Color is Dark Side. Summer was great. Come heating season the windshield constantly fogs up. Starts at the bottom and works all the way to the top. Ford Says this is normal. I tend to disagree. Completely poor answers from ford service advisors and regional service reps. The truth is I love the car but may have make a move to another competitor.

Just got a brand new 2014 fusion. This weekend we took her on her first trip, 200 miles down to Vriginia Beach. An hour in, the transmission slipped and sent the tachomenter racing. Took my foot off the gas to let it catch again. It kept doing this, especially on inclines. I was very scared. Then a wrench icon popped up. Great, in I95 traffic with a brand new yet screwed up car. Well, didnt do much on my vacation in fear of breaking down. Driving back I only allowed myself to go 60mph, even in a 65mph zone, because I didn't want to break down. It worked. Also when I am at a red light, the car shudders and wants to stall. This started a month ago.

This car has been a headache. 6 recalls. Leather seats prematurely worn. I had 38k miles on it. Warranty is a joke. Multiple trips to dealer for transmission issues. Motor doesn't get mpg. Ford was sued for that. Things don't line up on parts on the interior so garbage build quality. The sync info system is a total glitchy and slow garbage screen to have to use. The auto unlock function with key fob doesn't work consistently or it keeps relocking the door as your open it. Another glitchy garbage feature. My last ford. 2nd fusion I've owned and both had major issues. My wife used to love ford's. Not anymore. Update 8 11 17 All the same issues as above. Except that knocking in reverse coming from the car. Very nice. 51k miles.

Owned the car for almost 2 weeks now, nothing but good to say about it. Has the 2.0 with the Sport Appearance Pkg. While test driving the car, was surprised at the power this engine has. Quiet inside & very comfortable. Excellent visibility all around & controls placed good. Has over 800 miles on it already, mpg via the dashboard around town has been from 26.5 to 28.0, highway from 31 mpg to 33 mpg with a/c on driving easy. I know the dashboard reads higher from what I have read on the Forums, will write an update at a later time as times goes on regarding gas mileage. BTW, using premium fuel. Have owned 2 Fords before this one, have put well over 100K on each one, sure this one will also. At over 50,000 miles car has been excellent. Other than oil changes, have replaced tires and battery. Only replaced battery because having lived in Florida for several decades, I know my batteries on various cars have not lasted much beyond 3 years and did not want to get stuck with a dead battery like has happened in the past. Transmission has a hard shift once in a while. Windshield pillars restrict front visibility somewhat. Paint and interior holding up like new. All recalls handled by Ford in an excellent manner. Having the 2.0 Turbo, kicking the Turbo in really uses a lot more fuel than normal. Gas mileage open road averages 31 - 33 mpg, around town 25mpg - 27 mpg. Car has 68900 miles on it now. Still runs great with the exception of the transmission that still shifts hard at times. Paint and interior holding up good. No major repairs, just normal maintenance. Additional recalls have been handled excellent by Ford. Gas mileage still getting what I posted before. I can see getting an easy 100,000 plus miles on this car. At a little above 80000 miles, car still doing well. Transmission stills has a hard shift from time to time. No repairs done, just regular maintenance items. Gas mileage still the same. Engine seems to be running better with no loss of power.

This is by far the worst car I have ever purchased. It's a beautiful car and the interior is very nice but the performance is junk. Without an extended warranty I would have paid around 5 to $10,000 worth of repairs. The acceleration is very poor and caused me to have 2 near accidents because it would not accelerate. It has a rough idle. I have had the entire gas tank replaced because it rattled and was misfiring. Engine has had work and numerous recalls. Do yourself a favor...don't buy this car. You are guaranteed to throw your money in the trash. My warranty is up in 5000 miles and I'm stuck with a junker that I can't rely on and I will spend tons of money to repair down the road. I still have a note on the his car as well so I am really in a bad position.

My Ford Fusion 2014 • Titanium 4dr Sedan 2.0 turbo Ruby Red Metallic, was purchased in December 2013. Its the best looking car on the road, I get lots of complements from strangers when I am out and about. The Acceleration and handling is amazing. The fuel economy in the city is about 17 miles to the gallon and around 24 miles per gallon on the freeway. I have only taken the car in for factory recalls that never showed up, not for any mechanical or electrical problems. I like almost everything about this car with one exception, the ride is harsh for us older guys. If I was much younger it wouldn't be a problem but I now prefer a nice smooth soft ride due to all of the aches and pains. Overall I am pleased with this car.

This is a very solid, comfortable vehicle. I love the and the driving comfort. For a while I was making several 150 mi. round trips. In my previous economy car, those trips would wear me out- the car was so un-ergonomical. But making the same drive in the Fusion was a very pleasant experience which I could complete and still feel raring to go when I got back. very pleasant. The great sound system also added to my overall enjoyment. Plenty of room in the back seat, even for some of my more long-legged friends. And the trunk space is enormous. And, like another reviewer said, I too found myself often turning back to just take in the lines and lush style and beautiful color of this car. While this review was for my previous Fusion, which I shortly after the review traded for a Fusion hybrid, all of it is true for my new one as well with the changes noted.

The plastic rear end has horrible quality. There are 3 or more defects in the surface around the rear license plate on all of these. The rear doors, the front and rear bumpers and the rear tail lights do not line up well. The front door interior arm rest extends into the A-frame and thus sticks you in the rear end every time you enter the car. Mine has < 1500 miles and has left me stranded TWICE, with a dead battery. When the battery is dead you cannot unlock your car or get into the trunk without breaking the front driver's door handle to expose the keylock. Even then you cannot open any other doors or the trunk. You cannot move it because it will not come out of park....thanks Ford.

I recently purchased a 2014 Ford Fusion SE with the 1.5 L Ecoboost engine mated to a 6 speed auto trans axle. My Fusion has the 202 luxury package and My Ford Touch as the options. This is the best car I owned. It is quiet, confident on the road, comfortable, and returns respectable MPG. On winter blend gas in winter conditions I am averaging 29.5 MPG on the dash, however Fulley says the actual MPG is 32. Not to shabby for the above conditions and less than 1000 miles on the odometer. This car looks, great, drives great, gets great MPG, and was a great deal. You can't go wrong.

We bought this car to replace our 2011 Mercury Milan. That car was too small for me. There was no room in the drivers seat. I was looking to replace it with anything I could find bigger. I stumbled across the Fusion test drove it and was sold. Power was great for the 4 cylinder. Gas mileage is better than the Milan and comfort is much more impressive. Glad I found this car. I have driven Fords or Mercury's for the last 40 years and with the redesigned Fusion, I see no reason to change now.

I really thought I needed an SUV, but this car won me over. I have owned an older Fusion in the past that was ok. It's roomy yet gets great gas mileage. I average 32mpg highway and coming from larger vehicles that is awesome to me.

When writing a review you cannot select the 1.5 or 1.6 engines. Ive got the 1.6 ecoboost that comes with a manual transmission. I really like it, I rented the 2.0L ecoboost a couple of times and really like that engine too, I really wanted the manual transmission and its great. Very nice ride stays on the road and handles well. I got the sport appearance package and the MyFord Touch with SYNC. I had that before and I really like it. I have seen a couple of glitches with it but the PROs outweigh the cons. You can control almost anything with your voice, and once you learn all of the commands and features it works really well. The steering wheel buttons were designed with me in mind. they are perfect. I recently rented a 2015 escape and they messed them up, i hated those compared to my fusion. the volume up down, track forward back, sync command and cruise control are all right where they should be. I am 6'4" tall too and I fit better in the fusion than in the escape. the fusion has plenty of room. The odometer features where you can change how you see the info is awesome too. really cool options of viewing the tachtometer and live fuel economy as you drive. Plenty of leg room in the back. all 4 windows are one press and they fully open or close. keyless open all windows when its really hot you just hold the unlock feature after 5 seconds all the windows open. they just thought of all of these little things and I really appreciate them. Some reviews complain about the SYNC but i really like it, i dont use the touch part of it too often and the only glitches ive had was the temperature setting, neither the touchscreen nor the button below work sometimes. one time it seemed the button got stuck and bumped me down to min temp. Once i stopped and killed the engine and started it up again the glitch went away.
