Never buy a Ford
Bought the 2010 Fusion new, pile of junk, 3 door switches replaced along with Chinese lug nuts and emblem that was delaminating. Rear brake caliper locked up, covered under warranty, it's locked up again but not covered under the 60,000 drive train warranty. I would think that brakes are an important part of the drivetrain. After owning and driving this for 7 years now and working out some bugs, it's been a decent car. Rear brakes are still poor, especially on cars not driven a lot, which is this one. When a typical repair shop does the rear brakes they last about 15,000. When I do them I do all of the little things that they don't and they last about 40,000. Ride has always been horrible, going from 17to 16" wheels with high quality touring tires helped but knocked the milage down about 1 mpg Not real happy about the throttle body deal, they fail, instead of recalling and fixing the government let them off with change of software so the car will go 30 mph and extended warranty. In the end, I'll probably look at Ford for our next car but I certainly won't blindly buy one

Dangerous stalls
My son was driving this car at night and started stalling until he pulled over. Gave me a call and went over to switch car. Drove it for about 10 minute when it started stalling. Turned it off and back on and still continue to stall. Waited a minute then turn it back on and continue to stall-turned it off and waited another minute and finally it ran fine. Had heavy rain during the prior weeks and there is no gas cover for this car to stop water from entering. Nice car when running and not stalling.
Throttle body warranty extension program
We had a 2010 Fusion (37K miles) serviced for this throttle bottle issue last week. Our mechanic friend, who works for a Lexus dealer, was not able to diagnose or replicate the issue. We finally took it to a Ford dealer and were pleased to learn that there is a brand new warranty extension program that covers this repair. We were told it would have been a $700 repair. Hope this helps someone!
Transmission problems
We are having transmission problems as well with our brand new 2010 Fusion. The car has been at the dealer for over a week. Not the quality I expected from Ford. Be wary of Ford's faulty transmissions.
Throttle Body
so after owning my 2010 fusion for 3 years the throttle body goes out. I call ford and they dont seem to care. I had my 15 month old in the back seat during rush hour traffic (going uphill) and it goes from 60 to nothing without a warning. luckily I had a slow driver behind me. So as of 9/7/13 I am no longer a ford owner and never will be again. I have owned 3 different fords in 12 years and this one was the worst. Could have hurt or killed my son badly..
