2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid (Titanium) I am averaging 49+mpg. Active cruise control set to 68mph. 120miles per day for work, mostly highway. This includes some AC. Make stops much longer to recapture energy. I do slower starts than I use to, but they car can get up and go if I want, or need to. Driving to vacation and back at 80+ got me 42mpg. I still fill up the same amount of times, but the tank is much smaller, so instead of a 14Gal fill up I am only doing 7-8gal.

We can't understand what the fuss is about the navigation and touch system. It did take a while to find all the many features, but now it is easy to use and the navigation system is very accurate. The four quadrants make it easy to shift from one screen to another. Just a little time with the manual and you should be all set. This is the first American car we have had and we love it. We are getting excellent mileage...better than the newly corrected MPG. We have about 3300 miles on her.

This is my "work" car, purchased for that purpose. Although I have driven a series of employer-provided vehicles over the years, (Ford and GM sedans), this is the first purchase for my own use. The Fusion is, (I am embarrassed to say), the first American-branded vehicle I have ever owned, and I am 50 years old. I drive a mix of 70-75 mph highway, congested city and rural two lane. By way of background, I am fussy and a bit of a "car guy." (Other vehicles: Miata 6M and Acura TSX 5A.) Also, I have prior experience with Toyota hybrids. I like them, and have driven approximately 10K miles in a Gen 3 Prius and a 2009 Camry hybrid That said, here are my observations at the 12K mark:

I've had this car for 2 months now and I think I'm now a decent hybrid driver. However, I don't think this car can deliver 47 MPG. Theres an instrument on the dashboard called Fuel Economy that shows your average MPG. I ALWAYS reset it when I fill the tank and I ALWAYS get 51/52 MPG when I need to refuel. I was excited I was getting "52 MPG". However, I also ALWAYS reset the dashboard TRIP 1 mileage counter when I fill the tank. I started noticing that I consistently get approx 560 miles per gas tank when I end with 52 MPG. Unless I'm missing something, 560 miles divided by 13.5 gallons is only 41 MPG. I don't understand why the dashboard shows 52 MPG when I only get 560 miles per tank.

I put a lot of miles on it under a wide variety of conditions. I live in Southern California, so the only thing I cannot attest to would be significant changes in weather. I bought this car with a rated MPG of 47/47. Ford sent me a check for $750 when they corrected the ratings. For the amount I drive, this did not cover the amount of savings I had anticipated, but I guess it's better than nothing. It's a beautiful car with a minimal amount of problems. It feels like a boat and takes some getting used to its size. The departure angles on inclines/declines is not good due to the air dam. My front paint has already begun to wear on the front bumper from so much driving. Update 5/2018: Relocated to Texas and still driving. Repair costs have been next to none outside of general maintenance. MyFord Touch w/ Navigation barely gets used thanks to Bluetooth/Cellphone. The vehicle has held up extremely well. Gas mileage is the same if not better than when originally purchased. You have to drive it like your grandma stole it to see MPG benefit. I've had about 4 recalls which were easy to have done and nothing that prevented me from driving the Fusion on a daily basis.
