Used 2016 Ford Focus Consumer Reviews
Awesome, versatile car
I am very happy with my 2016 Ford Focus and have been since the day I bought it. As someone who commutes to school, work, and various other places in a given day, this car is perfect for someone who is looking for a great car for them to commute in; easy to get in and out of parking spots, a breeze to parallel park in, decent gas mileage, and all that jazz. My only complaint is that the button on the emergency break gets "weird" and gets stuck on the occasion, but that is it. The radio and bluetooth have cooperated with me and have not caused me any issues, and out of the 5 months I have had it, it has never needed to be taken into the shop (I drive a considerable amount every day). Also, I recommend this car to someone running on the shorter side- I am only about 5'3", so this car is easy to get in and out of from the drivers seat, but other taller family members of mine have required a bit more effort getting swiftly in and out of it despite adjusting the seat.

4th Focus in 16 Years
I have driven nothing but Ford Focus for 16 years now, and the 2016 Titanium is by far the best. Excellent interior/instrument panel, fuel economy, ride, handling, the list goes on. I have read reports regarding issues with the transmissions on the Focus, but I have no complaints at all. The salesman at the dealer told me the car will adjust to my driving style, which I find is true. Yes, it's a little odd when I do not press on the accelerator firmly, but when I do, it performs just fine for my tastes. Love the car!

Ford Focus Hatch
Having rented them in the past, I always liked this last generation Focus. Comfortable seats, nice options, nimble. When it was time for me to purchase a new vehicle, I had Ford Focus on my short list along with Subaru Impreza and VW GTI. I picked the 2016 Focus because of the Sync 3 upgrade. I would not buy anything older for this reason alone. I also went with the Titanium trim to get all the latest bells and whistles such as remote start, Apple Car Play, heated seats, beck-up camera, etc. I've owned the car for a month and it has not disappointed. It is a great cat for running around town which is it's main function. If I had purchased either of the other two models I would have had to buy a 2017 model to be similarly equipped which would have meant several thousand more dollar outlay. What you should be aware of is the automatic transmission issue. It has a dual clutch transmission which means it is not going to be as smooth as a regular automatic transmission. On top of that, there have been reported issues with the shifting which a quick Google search will produce. On the plus side, Ford has extended the warranty on the drivetrain to 7 years or 84,000 miles so you'll want to buy a car that is within that warranty. If buying from a Ford dealer, inquire when the last time the transmission was serviced. You may want to insist that this be done prior to purchase. The other issue is that there is a lag when initially accelerating in first gear. I don't consider this a big deal as many cars have it but it seems more noticeable in a sporty Focus. These are the only 2 reasons I can think to not give this car five stars (but I rarely give anything 5 stars). Great value, fun to drive, nicely optioned in Titanium trim, easy to park. The 2.0 liter engine has been around a while and has a good history. Plenty of power for this little car. I have been satisfied with my purchase.

Ford is CRAZY
So I had my car for almost 3 years brought it new, kept up with the maintenance and now my transmission is shot to hell🤦🏾♀️. I have called ford to get some answers but they were no help. It’s recalls on the transmission but only with vehicles with engine size 1.0, I’m over it. My car is not worth what I still owe on it. To top it off I have to pay 5500 for a new transmission. Ford done lost there mind, I’ll be talking with a lawyer in the morning. So let me know if y’all have the same problem or something close. Cause I’m not having it today.

Never buying ford again
I should of read the reviews before buying the 2016 Ford Focus. The very first thing I noticed upon driving this car is the shutter on acceleration, which I told the people at ford and they said it was normal. Um ok doesnt sound normal to me. Flash forward a year and a half I’m already having mechanical issues with the car saying high heat turn off car. It took them 5 weeks to figure out it was a crack in the coolant resovoire. Customer service is weak as hell. I just traded it in for a 2019 Toyota Tacoma and I can already feel the difference in quality. DO NOT BUY THE FORD FOCUS YOU WILL REGRET IT
