DO NOT BUY. DO YOUR RESEARCH
Dealerships shouldn't even be allowed to sell these cars. I got my used 2016 ford focus se and within 2 days it was in the shop. Tcm replacement and clutch. After doing research on these model cars I returned it and got me a jeep renegade.

Don’t buy from FORD!!!
This car has had problems since I first got the car, there is a grinding noise in the engine and Ford won’t fix it, they “replaced the clutch” and yet the problem persists. A FORD employee told me that Ford messed up on the design of this car, that’s not what anyone wants to hear!!! And now a mechanic told me that the vehicle is unsafe to drive because there is a grinding vibration underneath my feet, yeah I’ve know this vehicle is unsafe to drive and Ford corporate basically told me that they don’t care!!! Never buying FORD EVER AGAIN

Just a car, does the job (most of the time)
I bought this car new in June 2016. I bought it for the gas mileage and I wanted a new car because I had a long history of old cars breaking down on me. So, I was pretty bummed when only 11 months of owning it (16K miles), it was in the shop for repair work. The car shuddered from 0 to 1st gear and from 1st to 2nd. I did a lot of research and learned about the typical problems with the Focus and the dual clutch transmission. November 2017 it was in the shop again because a rattling noise from the engine at low speeds. I paid a lot of money for this car and I just want it to work properly. I now regret my decision to buy this new. For the money, I could have gotten much more reliable car with better gas mileage and a bigger back seat. PROS: good handling, quick acceleration, back up cam is nice CONS: tiny back seat, gas mileage, not reliable

The Focus has good potential
Good looks, decent power, an above average interior and great handling are pros of this car and show that the car has potential but the transmission really holds this car back. The transmission has its moments where it’s acting normal and you really wish it was like that all the time because Ford has the right idea but it just is far too unrefined. It’s jerky in higher gears and shutters insanely bad in lower gears, especially after it’s warmed up and has been driving for awhile. Driving in the city is a nightmare with this transmission. The gas mileage is good, but at last 3-5 mpg below what a comparable civic would get. Overall, Ford has the right idea with this car but honestly for how much this car costs, you’d be better off with a similarly priced Civic, Elantra or Mazda3
Ford person
Check the docking fee, which is a joke for consumers, that't a mark-up for dealers. Also the taxes and everything else before buying.
