Super reliable with a manual transmission
I’ve had my 2015 S Sedan for over 3 years and it’s been near flawless. It now has over 100k miles and the only issue has been a cracked coolant reservoir. Cost me 20 bucks to replace. Everything about this car has held up extremely well including the attractive interior. My favorite part about the car is fuel economy. Even with a 5 speed transmission I average 42mpg on the highway which is more than this car is rated for. The best part is it doesn’t sacrifice power for mpg. It has plenty of power once you get the revs up and this motor loves to rev! For an economy car it’s actually really fun to drive. The 2.0 Duratec engine is tried and true. I believe it is the best economy engine ever made. Efficient, powerful and reliable. You can’t go wrong with this car. ***Update 3/13/24, 150xxx miles*** Entire cooling system had to be replaced. Water pump, radiator, coolant lines failed.. CEL has never come on. I still consider this to be a reliable car.

DEATH TRAP
I purchased my vehicle very beginning of 2016 with 18k miles on it. It has always shifted funny around 40k it was shifting horrible. Took to the shop warranty covered the clutch in the transmission (I did not even realize my transmission had a clutch as it is and automatic). Which caused me to do research to find that this vehicle has horrible reviews. Not even a month after I got the car back it starts shaking and rattling every time it shifted. Another clutch covered under warranty. Between the 2 clutches I have taken the car to the shop because while pulling out on to the highway the car stopped and acted like it was going to die almost resulting in me getting T-Boned by a semi with my baby in the vehicle. This has happened now twice. I spoke to the dealership that we have bought 3 vehicles from, and the results they had for me was eating what I have in my car and buying new, or downgrading and taking a higher payment. So next step is to contact corporate, then the next step will be contacting a lawyer. The inside is nice, and I love my backup camera which is why it has 2 stars. I will not even let my teenage daughter drive this vehicle

Transmission shudders
Going uphill is the worse, after a few thousand miles it will shudder and accelerate very poorly no matter how many times I took it to "fix the issue"...Avoid purchasing..

expect no support from Ford
transmission barely makes it possible to get through an intersection. ford claims it isn't a safety risk so they do nothing....get an attorney!
