Review of 2006 F-350

I feel it is a great truck for towing and hauling, However it need some more pickup in traffic. It is getting around 9 miles to the gallon, which is not bad for a 10,000 GVW truck. Overall I am impressed with this truck. I have always owned Chevy trucks and this is my first Ford. I do however miss the Chevy's power out of the hole.

STRONG TRUCK

Due to the extra purchase cost I got the gas v8. The diesel is needed for heavy pulling, but the gas V8 will do, just slower. Very happy with the truck overall though it did stall out completely one time for no reason and no code was recorded. The built in trailer brake system is a must for towing, but it does hold up the RPM's at times a bit too long and when coasting it will kick up and you have to tap the gas to get it to shift. But great overall. I can't even feel our 4 horse trailer behind it. The interior is very comfortable and large. The engine is thirsty. 12 MPG normally and 9 MPG towing. Fit and finish all are very good.

no need for diesel

Definitely the biggest on my block, and the new 3V 5.4L V8 is all I really need. If you're not regularly towing 10K+ lbs on long trips, don't waste the $5K on the diesel, and stop waking up the neighbors. :) This new 5.4 makes more HP than the old 460, and almost as much torque but is 2 litres smaller. I get 14MPG around town despite the 315/70/17 (35") BFG all terrains I added. The 2.5" RevTek level kit ($215) gives it a perfect stance, and the tough exterior design is the best of the Big 3. I bought the XL because real trucks were meant to have rubber floors and basic options. Ford's chrome, carpet and leather don't really hold up over time especially if you use your truck like a truck.

Far better than the Dodge 3500 in mileage, comfort and towing. Not only used as business vehicle but as family automobile. The room it has is excellent, and the rear seating holds 3 adults well over 6" in height. The turbo allows for passing in small areas. I will never own another truck that is not a Ford!

Bad safety features

This truck has no turning radius at all. It bounces so much when speeds exceed 50 mph that your teeth rattle. In addition, Ford chose to remove some essential safety features, like LATCH anchor for children. I hate this truck. I will never buy a Ford again, or from the dealership
