Used 2005 Ford F-150 Consumer Reviews
Brakes
Good power at all speeds, brakes too spongy, interior very roomy, ride comfortable.
dream
I have always wanted such a truck . I was very impressed with the design, comfort and performance . I voided the warranty the first year with 37,000 miles. I was nervous at first but two years later and another 30,000 miles I am still impressed. Even a minor accident was fairly priced to fix.The ultimate family truckster. I use it for everyday, camping trips and small loads so far. I even pulled my friends 30 foot boat out of the lake (mud season) with ease. As it gets older it will be working harder. A must for the famly man with a house.

Have had a lot of problems with the drive train on this vehicle. Rear end problems started at around 13,000 miles. Had 2 rear end rebuilds on this truck. Engine problems began around 60,000 miles. Had cam problems. Cam eventually broke at 85,000 miles. Apparently a problem with this model Ford. Ford has not offerd to help repair.

Rear differential has whined since new. Rear differential had to be replaced. Battery junk making vehicle unreliable. Ford said there was a bad plate. Charged the battery and refused to replace under warranty. Stranded 6 times. Finally, dealership replaced battery. Windshield has stress crack running all the way across. I have owned many new Chevys, Dodges and Fords over the years. I am not impressed with the quality. I don't see where the customer service is anymore.

The truck SEEMS big when cornering or parking. I think the 21 inch wheels make it unnecessarily high off the ground. I had to replace a tire and found most manufacturers don't make the standard tire size (not Goodyear, not Bridgestone, not Goodrich--only Michelin and Cooper).
