Thank God is a Lease!!!
I switch from a 2015 Edge that has a recall issue on the oils transmission line the provoke a large leak. That car was a lease so dealers don't want to change the transmission just patch the leak and that is all. The car runs for 1K miles with low oil before start to make loud noises. I notice a clicking noise but as usual dealers cannot replicate "they do not care" so was very hard to prove until dump the oil. Anyway I upgrade for a 2017 Ecoboost explorer thinking that I was unlucky with the Edge but apparently I am not. The Explorer shows traces of transmission oil leaks, ( I do my own engine oil filter change and that is how I notice the problem). It has 25K miles on it and since is also a Lease I will not bother to take it to the dealer because they are not going to do anything and repair that will cause more damage since dealers are not the best repair shops in the country. If you are leasing, fine just change it but be aware if you are buying because by the time you notice issues like this leak probably you are out of warranty (perfectly calculate by FORD). I love the bran but so far only problems. 1st Ford a 1997 DOHC that broke the chain tensioner (recall not repair by dealer - out of warranty), 2015 Edge transmission line breaks - recall - dealer repaired but they do not change transmission), now 2017 Explorer with leaking transmission, I will just change it when lease ends.

Best SUV I’ve owned thus far...
After going through a number of SUV’s the past 6 years including Equinox, Santa Fe Sport, and an Edge I’d have to say this is why happiest I’ve been with my vehicle. Has the size and performance I need to get around these Canadian winters not to mention the luxury feel of all the features.

Great car
Nice car, stylish, comfortable and all around great buy, would recommend
Not worth the hassle
Under 60k miles purchased brand new in 2017 always kept in a garage. First the brakes went bad in 2023 and now in 2024 the transmission has failed. I was incredibly disappointed and most likely will be switching to Honda or Toyota. My wife’s Honda has over 125k miles has never had any problems.
