Used 1999 Ford Explorer SUV Consumer Reviews
Ford=Fix Or Repair Daily
We bought the truck new. The check engine light has come on 7 times. Now the engine needs to be replaced. We have put close to a $500 in repairs into this truck every year for the last 7 years. We had to replace tires after the Firestone recall, the truck has had a shake in it ever since. When we go over a bump in the road or our driveway, the truck rocks so bad I feel like I have whiplash. I will NEVER buy another Explorer again. I begged my husband not to buy this one, now look where we are!
Mike's Review
I have like my ford explorer. The only problem I have is that the lack of room when we want to go camping with 3 kids.

Awesome SUV
I used to own a Saturn and I must say, buying my 1999 explorer was the best move I've made. Not only is 4x4 and quicker then my saturn, but I feel safer in it and it drives great.
Reliable Transporation
This has been a reliable family vehicle. The only problems with it were covered under warranty. We are extremely happy with the Battlefield Ford of Manassas, VA for all our service work.
Love It
I love the Explorer. For the most part no major problems, knock on wood, just little things here and there. Nice performance, pretty good handling considering, and great look.
