Used 2001 Ford Explorer Sport SUV Consumer Reviews
2001 Ford Explorer Sport
Fun to drive, find myself filling the gas tank much more often than my Jeep Grand Cherokee.
2001 Ford Explorer /Black
When I bought it it seemed pretty good, but then I started to have some problems with it.First there is some kind of vibration that comes from the trans when I am at a stop. This does'nt always happen but it is very annoying when it does. Then twice when I had to come to a sudden stop the passenger seat came flying forward. It was in a locked position both times. Then the paint started to fade all over the truck.Last thing is now the brakes squeek when I brake at 45mph or more. The dealer could "not find anything wrong with my complaints".Besides the really nice looks of this truck, and the roomy interior I am not happy.

My 2001 explorer sport
Excellent overall vehicle i purchased mine used with about 20k miles Sept 2002 and i have had it serviced regularly by the Ford dealership if you do not take care of your vehicle it will not take of you i have just went over 100k miles other than the cruise control recall (i had to go without it for two days), the battery dying about 6yrs ago, and having to recently replace the original tires, i have had no problems with it at all, my paint job needs a touch-up and two of the original three overhead handles are missing in the interior but has always been dependable i always made it to work and back even in some pretty bad storms that some 18 wheelers could not make, it's a truck and a good one
Awsome Car
Honestly, I am a pretty crazy driver. Being a crazy driver, I would need a reliable vehicle that can handle hard turns, speed, fast breaking, and things like that. My 2001 Ford Explorer Sport has done these things and a whole lot more. That's why I would strongly recomend this vehicle to anyone.
Nice Mode of Transportation
Bought the Ford out of need since my last car was a lemon. So far, the Explorer Sport has been very good to me. Ga mileage is not good but then again, I knew this would be the case because of the type of vehicle. No major repairs only routine maintenance which includes: engine, axle, and transmission oil changes. Radiator flushing, tire rotation, and brake service. All this is done at a Ford dealership as for these types of cars, it's important to follow the manufacturer maintenance which is available from Ford or on your owner's manual. And NEVER take a turn while driving fast. There are several warning decals on the Explorer Sport's.
