Fun and sleek
For the first time in my life I am having fun driving in a car. The kid's friends think they are so cool for being dropped off in a Magnum. The ride is smooth.
I Can Drive 55
After trading in my 1993 SHO for this I am jumping for joy. I have two 6ft 4 son's who fit in the back seat with room to spare. The trunk to the wagon has more then enough space, I call this my truck. Handling a load of one adult size wheelchair and four suit cases. The get up and go with my SXT 3.5 ltr high out put engine is enough for me, think of the ticket's I would have with the R/T. Handles well in all weather, only problem I have is it sit's very low to the road watch out for plastic bag they will get hung up on exhaust and start melting. Over all, I know I will have this wagon for atleast ten more years. And yes I can drive 55 but it does want to use it's power which is there
Suckered by great styling
I loved the styling of this car and had to purchase it shortly after it was released. I have had buyers remorse ever since. The reliability of this car has been atrocious and has been in the shop over 10 times within 15 months. #1- the car has pulled to the right since day 1 and they can't fix it. #2- periodic fuel injection issues that took 15 months to diagnose. #3- loud rear wheel noise that they can't repair. I also have to say that dealing with the 3 Dodge service centers and corporate has been a horrible experience. Lease is up in 7 months. I pity whoever gets it after me. I will never buy a Chrysler product again!
German Influence
You can tell that Mercedes has been involved in the quality of this car. Good tight feeling when you are driving. Handles well in any weather-I live in Northeast Ohio. I bought the car used and have 38,000 miles on it at present. The only problem I had was the tie rod ends needed replaced at 35,000 miles. Started to hear tire noise in the front end and realized the tread was beginning to wear uneven. Not happy with having to spend money on this at 38,000 miles. Mileage good be better. Drove to Wilmington NC and averaged 21 mpg. Love the engine and transmission though-good reponse.
Reliability Issues
Although I've had many inquiries form people about asking about this vehicle, I hav not been able to recommend it due to reliability issues. This car has been in the shop for numerous, I would characterize as nuisance problems. The AM portion of the radio has gone out on the car twice. The left rear window has gone out twice. The rear hatch has stopped working. The transmission jerks. Even though this car is a great looker, and is very useful, I don't think I will own it very long.
