My Durango
I test drove a Pathfinder, 4Runner, Xterra, Passport and Rodeo before I finally came to the Dodge and I stopped looking after a 10 minute drive. The seats were made for Americans and I am tall (6'4") so I wanted a SUV where my knees didn't hit anything (console, dash, etc.). The seats are comfortable and the dash is stylish yet simple. I am sure there are other good SUV's out there but you can't go wrong with this one. It has a third row seat, great towing power, full size spare tire and a quiet engine with a nice sounding exhaust
Love this Vehicle!
I have really enjoyed this vehicle. It handles great off road, the ride is very luxurious and it tows a 3500 pound tent trailer like it's not there! No more crawling up hill! It has handled the AZ heat beautifully... never once did it overheat. The third seat and second AC were very important to me. Only down side has been the gas mileage.
not exactly perfect
I have owned my Durango for about 2 years now. It is a nice vehicle to drive and travel in. The ride is also pretty smooth. However, there are some small problems. When you get some speed going there is a wind sound comming in the vehicle through the wind shield. I have had a problem with the power windows. Every now and then there is a winding noise comming from the engine compartment. The front passenger seats don't recline to a comfortable position which would be nice on long trips.
Bob's Short
It's a nice vehicle and a tough one to due to the dakota chassis. Milage is good with the small motor but if you have to tow a boat of 4000 lbs your milage goes to 8 to 10 maximum expensive on a long trip. nuff said
60K miles trouble free..awsome
Styling, ride characteristics and superb reliability have been the hallmarks of my Durango. Very very low maintenance / repair. Worst was front driveline (under warranty) due to worn u joint (my fault, BTW!!). Other than that...NOTHING in repairs have been required. 4.7 engine is exquistely simple to maintain (no rotor, distributor, plug wires). And with the HO Cams this truck is QUICK!!
