Last year I had difficulty in deciding whether to buy a Charger or Challenger. I bought the Charger and liked the Dodge product so much that this year I bought a Challenger. Both are RT's. The Charger was a better value but the Challenger is a great car. A lot of people want to compare the Challenger to the Camaro and Mustang. This is a huge mistake. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. For pure speed and handling the Challenger will never compete with the Camaro or Mustang. For comfort, room and road presence the Camaro and Mustang are not in the same class as the Challenger.I like all three cars and I am not brand loyal at all. I bought an RT Plus in Granite Metallic, just Beautiful. UPDATE 3-31-16. It has been 3 years since I purchased my Challenger RT. I have not had a Single issue with the car. I only drive it in fair weather and there is 4900 miles on the odometer. It has not been back to the dealer since I bought it. I dressed up the interior with some parts from Fast Hemis.com. I put an active 3" exhaust on it and a free flowing air cleaner. Other than that it is stock. I retired in 2014 and sold my Corvette and kept the Challenger. It is far more comfortable and practical.

I've had this car for two years and I regret my purchase. Within the first three months, the electronic system crashed and left me stranded for two hours. The dealership said they couldn't identify the issue and it was in the shop for two days. A year later, my window motor broke. It took a different dealership four days to fix the issue. Four months after they fixed the window motor, it broke again. Leaving me unable to use my car because it was stuck in the up position and it wouldn't allow my door to close. It took the dealership nine days to repair the window because every single part of the window motor system had to be replaced and reprogramming the car took another two days. This car has more down sides than up, I would not recommend to anymore. It's just a money pit.

So far I had a heating problem where the heat system would start with the blowing cold air.Took 4 trips to the service center and it is still not fixed a hundred percent.Next all the bearings fell out of the seat.Had to wait a week for parts. Then I got a recall notice telling me the alternater could stop working with no notice shutting the car down completely.Imagine driving out 65 and all the sudden you have no power steering, power brakes,no ABS system,No windshield wipers and no lights. And Dodge told me this was not putting me in harms way.It took 4 months to get replacement parts. Also the alternater could catch fire at any time.Next the airconditioning system started blowing a water mist into the cab of the car.At first I was told all systems do that,I told them BULL.They came back and told me the drain on the system was clogged. They said because of this the duct system had mildew in it and would have to be disenfected. Charged me over 200 dollars.Three weeks later I have mist again.WOULD NOT BUY ANOTHER DODGE EVER.I am updating my review.Nothing has changed, the heat system is still not fixed.I still would not recommend buying a Dodge. What good is a warranty if they just refuse to fix the problem.I have filled numerous complaints, but they were all ignored.Think twice!!!!! Just took my challenger for an oil change.I was first in line, took me 3 hours to get my car back.they asked me why I had not brought my car in for the air bag recall. They had fixed it that day but I never recieved a recall notice until a week later.I was told the air bag inflater could have exploded causing bodily injury to someone sitting in the passenger seat.Yet Chrysler never put anyone in harms way.Car is now 5 years old and Chrysler still says there is no problem with the heat system.Yet it still does not work. Think twice.Just had the oil cooling unit group.Took two months to get the part.

I have a 2014 Challenger SXT plus I bought used with 3400 miles on it. The owner was facing hip replacement surgery and traded it on a Dodge Durango R/T. The car is snappy for a V-6 with 305 HP. Back in my youth 300 horsepower was a big deal and you generally had to have 300 cubes or more to acheve that. I did not like the stock exhaust, (it sounded like a Stratus) so I replaced it with aftermarket glass packs. Not a V-8 rumble, but a nice throaty growl now. The package included leather and looks great, The plastics are a bit hard and cheaper looking, but this is the base model after all. The package also includes black 5 spoke wheels. I fail to understand the carping about handling, It's not a rocket on rails, but handles quite well, for a large, heavy car.I live in the Allegheny Mountains in South central PA and have lots of opportunities to drive it on the "twistys". I am currently having a worrisome issue with the check engine light coming on in a steady fashion that will need addressed after Labor Day. So I won't be driving it until it is rectified. But make no mistake , I love the Challenger. People still admire the car,I get lots of looks and thumbs up. ( It's the car, not me :-))
