New Pentastar V6 Shines Bright!
The New 2011 Challenger Rallye is now the car to buy. I held off buying one until now because the old V6 engine was a slug. This new Pentastar V6 engine with over 300 HP and over 260 lb-feet of torqe is the smoothest thing since satin coats, which by the way would look great on anybody driving a 70's flashback car like the Challenger. let's also talk power! This engine will throw you back in your seats all the while growling like a angry puppy. This engine is loving this car. Hemi's are great but let's talk insurance premiums and 5 dollar gas plus city traffic. The Challenger Rallye is the complete muscle car of the future because it lives the part and gets 29 mpg on highway.
Rallye with Super Sport - Best Value
I waited 3 years for the Pentastar and it was well-worth the patience. The engine delivers exceptionally smooth performance from idle all the way to redline. Combined with a cabin that is very quiet, you'd almost think that the engine was turned-off while stopped at an intersection or light; I asked the salesman if the car had some sort of "engine shutdown" feature during the initial test-drive. The big letdown is the 5-speed automatic, which lags badly when you need instant throttle response. Excellent engine, not-so-great gearbox. The Rallye Super Sport repsresents a good value with interior, suspension, steering, braking, and axle-ratio upgrades.
Year old and still #1 in my choice
Purchased July 2011, have 17k miles on the hub with NO problems in quality, performance & reliability. Added a CAI and HHO to the V6 and it came alive after 8k miles of break in. For a V6 it turns 0 - 60 in 6sec flat all day long. It will bury the needle with a little effort approaching the 140mph mark. Dodge did it "RIGHT" with this combination. Can honestly admit that the Challenger can hang with the Mustang or Camero of equal equipment any day of the week and in most cases walk away in second gear and never look back.
Very Nice Retro Muscle Car
I own the Toxic Orange v6 Ralley with the track pack and upgraded stereo. The track pack added loads of torque and will throw my head back when pushed. Just a tap on the accelerator at the light is all that is needed to leave most behind. The interior is well layed out with the cabin insulation excellent. The seats are extremely comfortable and the radio will blow ones ears off. While in the car the v6 can not be heard at idle but makes a nice throaty sound at the exhaust and when pushed has a very nice roar. The ride is very smooth and makes a nice freeway cruiser but handles well within traffic and on residential streets. Overall one of the best retro muscle cars if not the best.
Lots of problems
I bought my '11 SE model with less than 7000 miles on it. (It turned out being wrecked). I have had two recalls (which came after the problems started and the dealers didn't know how to fix). Just recently, my alternator died and I couldn't find an aftermarket one, so the mopar alternator cost over $500 (after the fact, the alternator became a recall item). The radio was not at all powerful so I had to put in an aftermarket amp. Lots of frustration and disappointment! The blind spot is huge and is hard to back up to park. On the bright side I love my car when it is running. Haha! I always get compliments on it and I think it rides better than the CTX Caddie. Well, Edmunds wanted me to update my review so here is a 5 year update. The ride is still good and I still get compliments on the looks of the car. The V6 is powerful and I have no problems passing and making left hand turns. After correcting the 3 recalls on the electronics, I haven't had any visits to the repair shop. I still have a pending recall, the Takata (sp?) passenger airbag. The only bad thing currently is that as soon as I made my last payment a mysterious rattling noise is coming from the dashboard and is extremely annoying. I have close to 70k miles on it. I'm on my 3rd set of tires ( I rotate my tires every time I change my oil, every three to five thousand miles). The first set that came with the car lasted about 20k then the Bridgestones lasted 45k. So, in review, it's paid for, it rides and looks good but darn that rattle is driving me crazy!! Edmund's wanted me to update again, year 7. 85k miles and just put on my 4th set of tires. still have a mystery rattle going on. I changed my trans fluid about 75k . Getting ready to put on new brakes. I also put on a cold air intake, it maybe increased performance, it increase gas mileage about 10% and it also made the engine a litter louder, especially when you 'get down on it'. My radio is down to one speaker. I gotta look into that one, lol. Approaching 100k miles. The car is still running well. I’ve switched to synthetic oil and I seem to be getting better gas mileage. Some trouble with the ABS system intermittently cutting on and off. Still haven’t changed the airbag recall. Back speakers not working. A few dents and dings. Other than that no problems. Still would rather be driving this car than some of the junk on the road today

Owned it for 11 years so far
I bought the 2011 Dodge Challenger SE new and have owned it since then. It now has 171k miles on it. I have only needed to replace the tires and brakes. 8 years in I did have to replace the radiator (not unusual) and have some front end work done probably due to the speed bumps in our neighborhood and the rough dirt road we travel to get to our camp. Overall, the car still looks and runs great and despite spending a few grand on some fixes, I’m very happy with the car. It being my only car and in New England, I drive it throughout the winter with snow tires. Just recently there has now been a little rust developing on the bottom of the passenger side door. I’ve been parking my car outside and unsheltered for the entire 11 years. I plan on holding on to it for another few years since it’s running well and still looks great (and because there are no “deals” out there right now in the new car market.

One more thing to go wrong?
I do have to start this out by saying, I LOVE my car!! Pure white V8, super classic looking!! From when I drove from Michigan to Ohio to pick the car up this has been by far the WORST relationship I have ever had with a company. And I mean you Chrysler!! From the dealer I picked the car up at to this very day with customer service on the phone. Listed issues: Electrical: steering, dash, headlights, blower system, windows, locks Body: Doors, hinges, molding, paint, trim, R/T badge, front bumper ass. Mechanical: trans, steering, exhaust
dont waste your money
styling is awsome however the drive train of this vehicle is the worst ive seen since ive started buying cars. fell in love with the styling but that love has turned into regret for speanding so much money on a lemon.
R/T Classic GWE
Love this car. Green with envy color. I live in NYC and get people taking photos all day long. It is just beautiful. And when I am on the highway, the engine just purrrrrs. No problems. Plenty of power, torque, plenty of room inside. My only real complaint is the steerting wheel is not the most comfortable, like they are in most modern cars.
too many recalls
I've had my 2011 Challenger since the end of 2011 and still have less than 15,000 miles. My wife stays at home and this is not a commute vehicle. I had problems with the door handles and wiring harness before the recalls even came out. Now the torque converter gave itself up internally. After taking back twice dealer is replacing the torque converter only and "flushing" the transmission. Antioch Dodge in Northern California is not the right place to get proper service done right the first time.
My first Hemi
Beautiful car, very comfortable for a muscle car, not so great on gas lol...but getting good gas mileage is not the point of buying this car right? I mean, this IS a muscle car, and when driven as such, will return low-moderate numbers at best. You CAN get better mileage if you drive it like a Prius, but why not just buy a Prius then?? Anyways, I LOVE my new ride. Would buy it again in a heartbeat. In fact, I'm already looking for another one to buy haha!

Dodge should pay me back!
You can't change the batteries to the key fobs, if you are brave enough to try they will fall apart when you pry them open. Then you can't lock the doors, unless you do it manually, and you risk locking the fobs inside. If it's a push button starter, once the fobs completely crap out, you can't even start the car. Dodge should be ashamed.

Disappointing quality
I chosen the Challenger because it was roomy, looked good, & JD Powers scored it high for initial quality, but in the 6 months i had the car, interior trim fell off, power window motors screwed up, and the driver's seat motor refused to back up. The midline stereo could not be turned up without causing interior trim buzzing (and we're talking only 21 on the vol dial), and of course, even with the Pentastar V6, I was getting no better than 17 mpg city or highway. the pitch black interior was hard to live with. My first and last Chrysler product.
