Used 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Consumer Reviews
Still Having Fun
I resisted the 2008 and newer, being enamored with the older Sebring convertible body styles (1999 being my favorite). I settled on the 2008 after some online research, and with absolutely no regrets. It rides like a coupe, not a convertible, feels very solid. I love that the top lowers or raises in under 30 seconds with a single push of a button (latching or unlatching automatically) and that I can lower the top from 50 feet away using the key fob (I never have to get into a hot car on a hot day). These are luxuries that would not have come with the 1999 Sebring. This car is my daily driver to the office, a 40 mile round trip over Tennessee backroads, so I really appreciate that I can go top down every day with so little effort. For my purposes the 4 cylinder engine performs admirably. After 5 months of owning this eleven year old Sebring convertible, I am quite pleased. -- update -- Since early 2020 working at home for good, no more commute. Still enjoying and seeing this car not as a collectible or an investment, but as something to drive and enjoy. Not putting many miles on it, but I will sometimes make a 50 mile round trip to Smithville, just to top off the gas tank. Had I known that owning this car could be so inexpensive, I would have purchased it years earlier. Fun and easy to own. --- 2022 update: I can hardly believe I am in my 4th summer with this fun convertible. Bought for just $3800.00 in February 2019, this car keeps paying me back with good times! - update: After four full years, still having a million dollars worth of fun in a four-thousand-dollar car!

Still going topless!
I've had my Sebring convertible a year now, and my wife's had hers eleven months. I've done about 10,000 miles and my wife has done about 6,000 miles on hers. We love the way they drive, their fuel economy, their styling and their huge trunk capacity. On a recent long trip, my car with four people in it, plus luggage, with the top down averaged over 31 mpg doing parkway speeds! My wife's car with the six, regularly does 25+ mpg. These cars are sure footed performers both in nice and in nasty weather. They are GREAT cars and we believe they've not received the good credit that they deserve from the professional reviewers and others. I've driven 44+ yrs. and should know!

2008 Sebring Touring Hardtop Convertible
I bought my Sebring in new condition with only 60 miles on her so I am her one and only original owner. It was during the 2008 recession and got a fantastic deal only paying about $18k for a $27k sticker price because another dealer had gone out of business and she was transferred to a dealer in my area so she was priced to sell quickly. It is now July 2021, and being 13 years old she still runs like the day I got her, strong and reliable with no problems. I will honestly say that the hardtop and mechanism for retracting it puts extra weight on the car so having the 2.7L engine, she is a little underpowered, but after pressing the accelerator and giving her a few seconds to process that you want to pick up the pace quickly, she steadily kicks it up and gives you what you're asking for. She's not a high performance sports car so you can't expect her to reach 60 in 2.8 seconds... maybe 6-8 seconds which is perfectly fine for a daily driver. One of the coolest things about her is the massive trunk room with the top up. When I was car hunting, I looked at the Mustang convertible and the trunk room is pathetic in comparison. (To be fair though, Mustang IS a sports car.) With her top down, she still has trunk room for several full bags of groceries. So in my opinion, this 2008 Sebring is a decent compromise between the sporty look of a convertible and fair enough room & comfort of a family car which is exactly what I was looking for in a modern convertible. I average about 20 MPG in combined city/hwy driving and have topped out at 28 MPG on long trips with freeway driving (between Southern California and Northern California) and average around 18 MPG with mostly in-town driving, both with the top up and with the top down. If I had to gripe about anything, I would like her to have a bit more horsepower, but I'm not willing to sacrifice MPG for it. As long as you accept the reality of what it is and what it's got to offer, it's is a total package. Sometimes I compare current model convertibles and ask myself if I'd trade her for one, and even though they may have a few more bells and whistles as technology progresses, so far I've always answered no. I love my car. My girl (I named her Marie) has been well maintained, not abused, and has been a great companion for my needs and adventures all these years and I look forward to as many years together as she'll give me in the future.

Stylish and fun but not a touring car!
If you a looking for a stylish convertble town car, look no further. But with hard seats, loud road noise and an extremely firm ride, long trips are not advisable. If it is still available, a lifetime everthing, unlimited milage maintenance warranty is advisable given the complexity of the top mechanisms.
Great car
I have the car for 2.5 years now and so far it does what it supposed to be , a fun car with more interior room then almost any convertible on the road. i dont understand why the car have bad reviews, you cant compare it to Mercedes or BMW but i can buy two of them compare with their price. currently 43,00O miles and done only regular service.
