Used 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS 2WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A) Consumer Reviews
Okay for the Money
This was the first Chevy I have owned and for the first few months it was great. I had to take it in for several recalls (3x) and about 6 times for rear brake lights. I have spent about $2000 in repairs for misc items. The CD player is now having problems switching between radio and cd player on its own. Now the computer is going out. I guess for the money it is okay, but would suggest only keeping it for a few years and then trading it in for something else.
Where's The Road?
This is the question you will be asking yourself after driving this vehicle. The steering is so bad that you cannot feel the rood. The steering has NO center point at all. Too bad for the people at Chevy. A better steering set up and this thing could have given Exploer a run for the money. For now just another GM miss. Back to the drawing board for the company that just won't listen!

WHERE'S MY TRANSMISSION ?
At 35,000 miles I lost reverse, second and my overdrive gears. The GM technician commented that there were problems like mine in the GM trucks that have identical transmissions. At 74,000 miles it fails again. Now here I sit, thinking GM will stand behind their product. WRONG!!! I asked GM if they are able to build a transmission that could last more than 35,000 miles...they laughed at me. I work for Goodyear/Gemini and you only have one shot with your customer. GM blew it!!! I would never treat my customers this way if I knew they felt uncomfortable with any product or service that I sold. BUY TOYOTA!!! Your best deal is great service, not a great price.
Coulda been better
Several problems damper this otherwise fine vehicle. Lots of wind noise is the most apparent at speeds above 50 MPH. Front passenger seat belt locks up continuously. Fuel range...listed as 400 miles per tank...yeah...maybe if you drive the highway at 55 mph...otherwise expect mid to low 300 miles from full tank. Back seat uncomfortable...especially around foot area....other than I like it.
2002 Trailblazer
Purchased 10/2004 - GM certified - vehicle has been to the garage at least 5 times since then - 2 or three times because it seems to lose power when coming to a stop - transmission coolant lines have had to be replaced - over 2 days worth of labor - vehicle in garage for over a week - when going up a hill, I wonder if I am going to have to get out and push - seems to be geared too high - power substantially reduced if air conditioner is on - gas mileage leaves something to be desired - transmission shifts roughly sometimes - however, I really have enjoyed the room and the actual driving - drives really well - quite a bit like a car
