I have always loved the Silverado but I have come to believe that they are getting more and more cheaply built. My last two Silverados have had the same airconditioner problem by the second year. My 2004 with 53000 miles just had the rear differential cover replaced because it rusted right through the middle. (And, this truck is kept garaged and underbody washed in the winter. It is'nt even my primary vehicle.) The metal used for the differential cover might as well have been aluminum foil. Not even a coat of protective paint. As I look at my 2004 compared to my 2002, I see a lot of cheaply done work and parts in the newer model. That's why my next truck will be a Toyota

Best vehicle ever made. It is definately the best vehicle I have ever owned. I look forward to the next opportunity to drive it. I have added dual exhaust with two flow masters on it. It sounds even better and of course the duals coming out the back look even better.

This is a nice truck. Driving, handling, and towing ability is great. The AWD is a nice feature. If you tow a boat, getting out of the water with those steep ramps is easy. The truck has a great look. The gas mileage could be a little better, but compared to the 5.3 gas mileage, that's not bad for 50 more HP. There are not many SS out there, so if you want something that is real and draws attention, this is a great truck in all categories. Just for a few more grand, you will be satisfied. Test drive says it all. I own two SS, 1990 454SS and 2004 SS. Both trucks are excellent.

this truck is great. handling is outstanding. fuel milage is a about 14.5 city 16.5 highway. having a great time driving the truck. im 36 years old and the young guys break their necks look at the outstanding black paint. had alot of great comments on the truck. looking forward to many years of fun

I have always owned 4 wheel drive trucks, never have I driven one with more traction than the All Wheel Drive SS. I tow a large trailer, many times on glare ice, and feel confident and safe!

This is the best truck i ever had. It is fast and useful. Because of the all wheel drive I can use it in the winter. I can also pull my boat with no problems.

I have enjoyed my many trips to the gas stations in my area as this thing is very thirtsy. Its heavy, hard to park due to 4 wheel steering that it dosent have but needs. It is how everever, fun to drive and it tow my trailer with little problems..since adding a blower to the motor adding 150 horse power. Maintence is straight forwrard and the dealer has been excellent on my normal service routien. the soound system is great and its a breese to drive down the highway with not too much cabin noise. I would rate this vehicle as an 8..due to the turning radius. As far as relialble....couldnt be happier!!!

I love to drive this truck! It has a Radix Magna Charger, Volant Cool Air Intake and an aftermarket MAF sensor. Needless to say it is very fast, pushing around 500 hp. Looks much better than the Ford and Dodge. It gets about 19 mpg on the highway and 15 in town, If you take it easy

I have had this truck since 2004. It had a little over 3000 miles when I got it. Other than scheduled maintenance it's not been in the shop. Now with a little over 135,000 mile it's still one of the best-looking Silverado's on the street. True duals running out the back with flow master mufflers, there ain't no better sound, especially when you fire her up in the morning. I've enjoyed this vehicle more than any other I've ever owned except for my 1965 Chevy C-10 fleet side (Black Beauty). The Silverado SS, it's number one with me.

I must admit, I took a look at the Silverado SS and it is a nice looking truck. It looks mean, has 4WD and has a bed you can actually use. After driving it, it just felt like a more powerful Silverado. This is not a sport truck. I was actually considering trading in my Honda Element for this bad boy....not after driving it. It drives OK but it's bouncy and jolting at the same time. If you need something that will haul a lot and has a lot of speed, I guess this is a good choice. But compared to my Honda Element, it feels cheap and doesn't handle nearly as good...even if the Chevy does look and sound meaner.

i bougtht this truck new and i was just so excited buying this and driving it i just didnt like paying for it but after a few months i realized it was well worth it. i was really suprized how much i could tow. i hauled a hummer hi from maine to washinghton state with no problem. i was amazed. and this truck has just about everything in it for options and very comfortable to.

I have alway driven only Ford trucks and still would if Ford had an AWD or 4- wheel drive with this power. The Lightning is reg. cab and 2-wheel drive and the beautiful HD is 2-wheel drive. This Chevy is very quiet and comfortable and handles great with brakes almost as good as my new Corvette. I'm impressed so far.

It's a great vehicle. Lots of fun to drive. It's roomy inside and the stereo system is nice, though I prefer to leave it off lots of the time so I can listen to the V-8. It's a beautiful looking truck too. No real complaints. I knew gas mileage wasn't going to be great before I bought...actually a little better than anticipated.

This truck is the only truck in the top 3 that isn't blown or has a Viper engine, DUH, of course it's not gonna have the HP of the others!! It has AWD though, and no Lim Slip in the back, so if you wanna go toe to toe from the starting line, I'm there. Take your heads out of your a$$es and give credit where credit is due. Oh, I'm sorry, how much did you pay for that Dodge? And did you get an extended cab with that Ford? Oh yeah, did you want 20" rims? Didn't think so, I'll be seeing you in my rear view mirror...

Let me start by saying,"I love my Silverado SS." It has all the power I could want, great style, and has as nice of an interior that I would want in a truck. The milage is kinda poor (12-15mpg range) but the power and stability provided between the 345hp and the All wheel drive more than makeup for it.

excellent truck, overall, really, but GM could've easily done a couple of things to improve it... as a couple of previous reviewers have noted, the ride can be a little choppy, and the handling isn't very good - if I'm not mistaken, my '02 Avalanche handled better. some variable-rate springs might've done the trick. the truck's appearance is fine from a distance, but I think they could've done something better with the lower-body cladding - up close it looks very "after-thought-ish". Acceleration is fine, seats and interior are great. Fuel economy is so-so, but we knew that going in, right?

Lets see, the SILVERADOSS. Is a Great ride, handles like a corvette interior like a caddy, awsome BOSE sound system. I is a quick fullsize pick up truck with awd and great towing cap, ext cab with large rear doors, Also it has some nice options

This is my "fun" Truck. I bought a shell for it so it double as a SUV for my grands. Great for the beach and surf fishing. Needed to transport a stove for the kitchen - no problem. Oh! the color is DUKE BLUE - I am an ACC fan. Got to take the yard wast to the dump tomorrow - no sweat. Going to the mountains to do some fishing next week. This baby is "what I Like". Fun Truck.

I have owned the SS for about 9 months and I love the styling and perfomance. Although I wish it came stock with about 50 more horses and torque.
Expected a whole lot more.

Besides being fun to drive, I can't say many more good things about this truck. The interior is way under done for being chevy's high end truck. The side door panel trim keeps coming undone. The ac fan has become pretty noisy. Smoother acceleration would be nice, it's very choppy. It turns heads, and prepare to dish out all the specs, but you can't hold your head up when Dodge and Ford have your number when it comes to overall performance.

I've been a gm buyer for quite a while,everything from a 70 chevelle ss to corvettes to a denali. I am very happy with my new "SS" I have added a cold air intake reprogramed the computer added headers and exhaust. with these mods it dyno's at 405hp and 440torque. I'm thinking of adding a throttle body next and then working on the suspension a little.

This truck is the best ive ever driven. Gas gussler but who cares. All motar you don't see that from Ford or Dodge. This is the only real sport truck on the road, and mine is supercharged for 465 horse.

Very nice, traded a 2000 Silverado regular cab. Great performance, good looks. Get about 13mpg. Could use a power sliding rear window.

The truck is definitely fun to drive and has lots of power. Drawbacks are terrible gas mileage (and premium) and noises from the AWD caused by bad assembly of the carrier.

The silverado ss is the best lookin truck,on the outside ever made. the handling is great....and it is so fun to drive. It has great get up and go. I love the lowered look with the 22" wheels. This is the best buy for any one who has any sense of style.
