great truck
drove ford dodge . chevy has them then beat by miles . looks /ride/perf. i will never look at another maker.
Very Dependable
I bought this truck new in May of 01. I currently have 276,000 miles on it and it runs like a top. I get 17+ MPG. I regularly change oil/filter and fuel filter and keep tires rotated. I've only had to replace the fuel pump once (although the fuel gauge was bad for the last two years). I've put two sets of brakes, two alternators, two ujoints, one catalytic converter, two window motors. Overall, this truck has been great. Keep in mind: 276,000 miles and still counting. Recently gota a speeding ticket and officer wrote "08 Silverado" (That's how good it looks)

4x4 Silverado 1500 LS
Everything replaced. From all pumps, belt, hoses, all fluids, brakes shocks air on rear, tune up, top end rebuilt at 220.000. Has cap and fifth wheel for towing RV. Truck has been professionally maintained. Mechanically very sound. Couple of cosmetic issues.

Big Blue
I have a blue 2000 Chevy Silveraldo. I have had the truck for about 3 years now. It look as if it may breakdown at any moment but it is very reliable. I love him. We own a football team, we own a foundation company to level homes and we own a space jump company. All of these companies have been established in the last three years thanks to Big Blue. He hauls the kids to and from games and practice, the equipment we need to complete our foundation jobs, and haul the jumping tents for delivery. It has minor issues from the truck being 20 years old but is a true definition of a truck being build for tough and it is highly recommended.
One of the Best and Reliable Trucks i have owned
One of the Best and Hardest Working trucks i ever owned. I Have owned several Different Types Ford, Toyota ,and Dodge I was Very sad to get rid of her but we needed a newer vehicle at the time. I owned her for 10 Awesome Years .Its actually the 2nd Chevy i have ever owned. The Truck ran awesome like an Old Cadillac. I took her over after My Brother who bought it 2005 didn't want it anymore gave it to my Father My father didn't need it not his style so he sold it to me. I didn't have issues and parts to replace till it reached 13 Years Plus. It was a 2000 Millennium edition . The truck Survived 3 years at Fort Drum, NY in the harshest of weather in the US and drove it back to Texas afterwards. A Damn Good Truck and I would definitely Buy another Chevy if it was built to last like this one i owned was. I Highly Recommend it. Chevy ,Like a Rock!

360,000 miles on my 2000 z71 Silverado
2000 z71 Silverado with 5.3 vortec has 360,000 miles on it and runs great. only changed fuel injectors and new fuel lines. a couple coil packs, plugs etc. no major service. 4x4 with G80 eaton electric diff locker is excellent in Florida sand and mud. parts are easy to find at LKQ and online for dirt cheap. these trucks are finally starting to become popular snag one before it becomes the next 1980s "square body" and shoots up in price. dont be afraid of mileage on the 5.3 LM7. just buy one.

Best truck ever
I got mine 8 years ago with 129000 and some change. Just rolled over 271000 last week with 4.3 an 5 speed.
Lots of small problems
In about 18000 miles, this truck has been back to the dealers about 9 times for small things that should never have happened, in my opinion. Air leaks, rough idle, pulling to the right, surge, stumbling, fuel pump replacement, 2 computer reprogrammings, window replacement, spare tire lock improperly installed at build, DRL lamps burn out, steering box replacement, cold knock if use 10W30 oil, tappet noise if using 5W30 oil, etc. Worst part is dealers seem fairly incompetent. The customer has to do the troubleshooting for them and look up the tech bulletins too - they are too lazy or ignorant to do it.
Disapointed
This truck has been to the shop more times in 1 1/2 years than my 89 was in 11 years with 220,000 miles. So far these items have been replaced; yoke, ignition switch, auto 4wd switch, rear door latches, front seat belts, radio, 2 tires (Firestone) and tail gate handle housing. Body is solid and looks and drives great. Lots of power to 97 mph then falls on it's face. Sun visors are usless on the side. Coolant temperature guage starts too high (160).
great
love the trcuk, roomy, and great features and the truck could fit at family of 6, which we usally couldnt find one to fit our family,,just sorry the deal didnt go thru
Great Horsepower lousy gas mileage
I have owned my Silverado for about 3 years, it is an extended cab. I absolutley love everything about it except the gas mileage. It is horrible. As a person who works in the construction field I have to drive it all over California. But all in all it is a really great truck. Reliable
Chevy is King
I have owned my Silverado for two years now and have 28,000 miles on it. I continue to be amazed by this truck. It is the most powerful vehicle I have ever owned (285 hp), the passing gear will give you whiplash, and at 70 mph this thing isn't even turning 2000 rpm. The ride and handling are oustanding. Fuel economy still averaging 20 mpg. What's not to like?
Chevy's Are Great
I love my Silverdo! The very powerful 5.3 is great to drive. I know when I'm pulling my boat or towing my camper, the power is always sufficient. I also took on a F-150 and smoked him. It is the greatest truck Chevy ever built.
Silverado troubles
Love the style and comfort of the truck but have had several problems. Some minor, some not. All problems out of warranty. One of the dual horns went out, still not fixed. Parking brake would not engage,$65 repair. Air conditioning "Freon" tube rubbed on interior part casuing leak,$350 repair. Air conditioning vent's not blowing out properly. Some vents barely blowing. Not repaired and afair to see how much to repair. Always down talked Fords but now have second thought about any america built vehicle.
Good Strong Truck
Overall I am happy with my purchase. I bought the truck with 40K miles on it and it runs like a champ. however before i purchased this truck I test drove the same exact year and model from another dealership and it died on the test drive. Something was wrong with the fuel system and it only had 38K miles on it. Good strong truck though and it tows my trailer with ease.
Nice pickup
Bought used and love the truck, only maintenance issue was fuel injector pressure regulator $90 @ 49k. Truck hauls boat like a dream ( 4000 lbs) and gets 15-16 while towing on open road. In town mileage 14-15 and 16-17 on highway. Great looks and peppy even with small V-8.
Milwaukee Silverado
The truck has been great. No major problems, great engine, very comfortable to ride in. A few squeeks and rattles after 72k, but nothing too bad. I bought an extended warranty and have yet to use it since the factory 3/36 ran out!
Really Happy
The only complaint I have is the sun visor. It's too short to block sun when you need to block the sun coming in the side windows in the front seat. Handles well in snow with snow tires and sand in the bed.
