Used 2004 Chevrolet Impala Consumer Reviews
Impala = SOLID FAMILY CAR
I am a 33 yr old woman with a husband and 2 children ages 7yrs and 3yrs old. The Impala by far has been the best family car I have ever owned. The child safty features are top of the line. The space inside the car is very large. Boys will be boys and mine tend to disagree often and this car provides the space they need to be in there own space and not invade the others personal zone. :) Did I mention the trunk is huge! My last car was a Mazda 626 and I felt I never had enough interior room or trunk space, well I have been spoiled by my Impala..plain and simple!
'04 IMPALA SS
Last three cars were Saabs.when Saab changed design to look like everything else, i decided to try something different. looked at acura tsx, altima, crown vic and gran prix and decided to go with the impala ss for it's combination of roominess (my spreading rear end fits in the front seat and backseat large enough for grandsons' carseats) performance (great low end torque w/o noticeable torque steer) and lots of standard features at a reasonable price ($3500 rebate). nice solid ride, not floaty like the base impalas.

My First Brand New Car
So for the first time in my life, I actually went out looking for a car, a brand new car. I wanted decent space, comfortable yet competent handling, etc. and I ultimately ended spend 2 months going through all of the local delearships in my area test driving every car in the "Large Sedan" Class. Ultimately it came down to a 2004 Accord V-6, or the 2004 Impala SS. The accord takes forever to downshift (when I press the gas down, I expect the machine to down shift) and the Transmission of the accord was a little less smooth in comparison to the ultra silky performance of the Impala's transmission. In a word overall this vehicle is amazing.
Horrible
I bought this car in 2004 new with maybe 500-1000 miles on it. They had to replace the dashboard, carpet, starter and thermostat while it was still under warranty. Now that it is not and I own it, it is falling apart. I have just replaced the thermostat and now they are saying it may need a new radiator.
