Lucky buy Cali mountain car

I bought this car after it had been sitting in the mountains of California nearly a year or two second hand because the purchaser bought a bigger car. This car was at about 120,000 it’s now at 180,000 as a daily driver we have gone camping, to the rivers, BLM in Nevada and California swim/fishing spots, Tahoe and through the mountains and god knows how many snow storms. After purchasing I immediately had it serviced since I knew nothing of the car buying it from someone else who bought it from the owner made me nervous, surprisingly I only spent $340 for everything to be checked out, inc, breaks, and oil and fluids replaced for it to be high desert ready. I had no issues transferring the title from California to Nevada. A few weeks ago I noticed the coolant was low and I filled that up, it started rattling a bit when I turned it on so put in fuel cleaner and read that the rattling I hear can be from the gas I put in. So crossing my fingers at over 180,000 miles we can keep this amazing little family car going for a few more years. At least we have all our camping trips already planned out so I figure we put in the little bit of money to keep it running with how many miles we have already put on it since March, I definitely think we’re way over the oil change tag so I’m not worried about the sound I know the mechanic we go to will be able to take it into his shop and get it changed and looked over and hopefully make it past 200,000 miles I’m thinking we will be looking at having this car and seeing if we can break 280,000 before we retire her because god know only my B2 lasted over 289,000 from 2007-2010 before the drive line broke and was worked on and used only for long distances and was still running strong when I sold it in 2015! I’m trying to be team Chevy and hope we can truly break the 350,000 but with less daily driver Miles and more vacation miles. I drive 90 miles a day part freeway part back roads and town lights plus 10-15 to and from the store running errands etc. I often catching myself going 80 in the 70mph zones because it’s so easy to drive and comfortable you don’t even notice you’re speeding. The car has some get up and go even with four bodies in the car, and a back full of camping supplies, but I don’t like to push it if I don’t have to. And when napping before going into work the seat rest isn’t too comfortable but laying it all the way back and curling up on my side isn’t too bad. Falling asleep while driving the passenger head rest is not comfortable at all, I always find my kids sleeping when we drive, the car seat fits just fine on either side with plenty of leg room for all. The only electrical issue we seem to have is with the passenger door I’ve had to take it to get unjammed and he said If you lean on the door sometimes they get stuck, but it was a easy fix and they didn’t even charge me at the auto body shop to do it just warned me it could happen if the car door gets leaned on too much or someone tries rolling the window up when your arms out the window resting on the open window etc. so not sure if that counts as user error or electrical but now and then the window doesn’t want to go up the buttons a little sticky and finicky but I do have a six year old who likes to climb all over my seats when getting out so I like to think she’s just rough on my car...

What a mistake

We used the NHTSA and FuelEconomy.gov websites to narrow our search. We chose this based on their ratings and boy, were they way off. My son tapped a deer one night, didn't even break the headlight lens. $5500. At 75k miles we're putting on the third set of high quality tires. It is the noisiest vehicle I've ridden in since leaving the Army, the mileage is about 14mpg, my 2007 3/4 ton 4WD Diesel has a tighter turn radius and these seats are absolutely terrible. Spilled water on the seats and they look terrible and stains won't come out. Can't sit in them more than an hour. There is nothing redeeming about this vehicle.

Don't buy this car!

I wanted a all wheel drive vehicle that was not a gas guzzler and decided to buy an American made car. First mistake was buying on emotion. Second mistake was keeping this vehicle to the point where it is not worth trading in. Poor quality with multiple issues. Motor that pushes washer fluid malfunction in year one, power moon roof in year two, rubber that holds windshield started flapping around ans was loose in year three, steering ends are now giving problems, and sensor costing $600 needs to be changed in year 6. This car has 70,000 miles and was well cared for. Yet my wife with her car that is 5 years older and has 50,000 more mile has to drive me to work in her HONDA as my car is in the shop.

GM Produces fine Lemons

This vehicle is a lemon. It has been in the shop four times for the gas gauge. It does not mark right and has left me stranded a few times, and the air light has come on and was in the shop for two weeks. And the check engine light has come on twice. The car is full of rattles. I should have looked around a little more and bought a Japanese car. GM should not be allowed to build cars anymore. All it does is make US look bad with the junk that they make.
