Well what can I say. I'm 70 years old used to have a 69 corvette conv theres no equal to the 2001. Gobs of power and handling is tops in my opinion. Replaced one headlamp motor and a couple of relays and alls well. I just bought it from original owner with 20k mileage it well stay in my garage until I can't drive any more. And the 6sp is golden compared to the 1969 4sp. UPDATE: Well this is my second corvette. First was a 1969 conv. I've owned it since Dec 2021 bought from original owner 20k mileage.Just finished a 45oo mile road-trip AZ to WA state. It ran great no issues. It does not like rain or snow. The previous milege estimates are correct in 6th gear. Being from AZ it is a great fair weather car and keep it in garage. The only think weak are the electric headlamp motors replace gears with brass and you've solved the problem

Bought my Silver Vette last year and have enjoyed it ever since. This is my everyday driving car. 2001 Corvette Coupe. Picked it up in Dallas and drove it back. Overall the car has Power from First through Fourth gears. I don't need any more speed after that. Fun car to drive and it looks Great. Would love to step up in Corvettes; however, I will never let this one go.

$50,000 lemon

It is the worst car I have ever owned as far as quality. At 3500 miles the oil pump went, and at 7200 miles the car caught fire while I was driving it due to a defective fuel line. After rebuilding the car, several problems with the engine and AC. Lost AC, brakes and developed significant new oil leak all within 48 hours. GM refused to acknolwdege problems, and has invited me to pursue lemon law claim. Out of 12 months I had car, 9 in the shop. Would not recommend car to anyone.(Have had 2 Corvettes in the past) Notiified NHTSA re: fire and sudden brake failure, believed to be related to boost.

Room For Improvement

I was unfortunate to receive a lemon Z06 (1Qt of oil for every 500Miles), but I have isolated my review comments to exclude this problem. Chevy eventually replaced the engine. But even with that, I still think you can buy a better car and therefore will be purchasing a 2003 in a few weeks. I really would like Chevy to take some more pride in building these cars with improvements made to the interior design, paint quality, and small details. I find it appaulling to buy a car that brand new will have rim damage because they are still using tire clamp weights. For detailers the badges are a nightmare (especially that rear Corvette inprint).
