Found the perfect fit !
We test drive the Lincoln Aviator and found the engine auto off/ on very jerky and the shift controls in a very odd position. It steered bulky compared to the Cadillac xt5. The aviator did have a little more room in the cargo area , but the rear passenger space looks and felt like and after thought . The XT5 feels and handles like what you expect from Cadillac. The interior just blew us away with its high end design. Controls are super friendly and the wireless connect from phone to car is fantastic! We love our XT5 luxury premium. And it comes at a a much less premium price than the aviator . When I factor in design, cost, city and highway handling as well as the high tech safety features such as blind spot , lane check and anti collision braking and warning . Lastly let’s not forget the “ teenage driver speed control” I personally rate the XT5 a very strong 9 out of 10 !
XT5 sport
This is my second XT5 from 2017 . The adaptive suspension is great and the 20 inch tires make handling very easy beautiful vehicle fully loaded. I own this 2020 six months now with no issues.

XT5CadExperience
Be sure you know all the options you want before going to a dealer. I knew I wanted all safety options I desired and did an on-line search for the Cadillac filling that requirement. I found the model, the top of the line Xt5 that filled those requirements. It had lane alert, lane change warning, lane hold when in cruise, and both front and rear blind side alerts. I have already experienced a warning of a vehicle approaching me from the front who had crossed the lane line. The heads-up display really amplified this warning. I am pleased with the electronic steering and braking, which is faster response than hydraulics.

Over-all enjoyable vehicle
This is my daily driver and it is a comfortable ride while having some sport like lateral firmness when taking turns. I have historically been a foreign car fan (my other vehicle is a 911) and this is the perfect reliable daily driver with room for the family and 22 mpg all around...

Excellent so far
Traded in my basic 2019 XTS for the 2021 Premium Luxury model 6 cyl awd. Much easier getting in and out of the vehicle than the XTS. I really like sitting up higher and since I’m getting older, with the 360 camera i don’t have to strain my neck to be sure there’s no obstacles around. It drives and rides just as nice as the car. I’m well pleased with it and look forward to driving it for many years. I would recommend this vehicle. The models below don’t show the 6 cyl and which is what I bought.

Second Cadillac SUV
This is the second Caddy SUV I have owned. I traded my 2015 SRX Performance in on an XT5 Premium Luxury. This is a totally different car for sure. I have a couple nits to pick on this. My SRX had adjustable pedals which was nice for both my wife and I when we drove it. Some of the storage nooks are not as handy. Having said that, I appreciate the expanded safety equipment and the more sophisticated ride and handling. I have had the car a month but not put many miles on it because of the COVID 19 situation. I am still figuring out some of the new electronic features but I am sure I will get it all sorted out once I can get on the road and do some real driving. I will provide further updates as the opportunity allows. The boxes below do not provide the option of specifying that I have a FWD 6 Cyl

Great SUV
Traded in my 2014 XTS luxury and couldn’t be more happy with this SUV. Got the Garnet metallic and I just love the color. Got the 3.6L AWD and it runs like a champ.

The Caddy XT5 ROCKS!
The moment we stepped into this XT5, we were wowed. Then driving it (with the V6 engine) sealed the deal. We had planned on buying the Lexus RX350, which is very nice but felt like driving a Japanese sedan, but once we checked out the Caddy - that was it for us!

Love it!
Very comfortable ride. Lots of leg room. Pleasant smooth ride experience. Good visibility of the road. Love the blind spot tech & park assist. Well equipped tech package with the prem luxury, mid level model. Touchscreen is easy to use & you can navigate it with some console buttons /knobs too. Impressive cargo space. It has exceeded my expectations.

2020 Cadillac XT 5
Great SUV. Not the largest or the smallest but midsize SUV with lots of power and plenty of room. Vehicle operates and handles beautifully. I don’t know how I got along without the front and rear view cameras.Only drawback: The backup camera is phenomenal but if you are not using the camera, the back up lights leaves something to be desired.

Xt5
Great car. Don't like stop & start
My butt hurts within two hours on a trip
After owning a 2003 Escalade for 9 years, a 2012 Acadia Denali for 7 and the 2020 XT5 for 18mos., I feel qualified to compare them. We miss the Escalade for it's roomy interior with third seat; and enjoyed it's comfortable seats and ride. But, the Acadia was a better car for comfort and while not as quiet as the Escalade; it handled as well and outperformed with the same power plant. Transmission did not shift as smoothly as the Escalade but we enjoyed it. Now, the XT5 hs a smoother, quieter ride( very quiet), and with the 9 speed tranny really excelerates better than the other two. Once you shift into 4th or higher it is very smooth. But, the low speed, in town driving is very jerky, like the electronic shifting can't decide what gear to stay in or when to shift. I hate it! Plan to take it to the dealer soon. I can't drive the XT5 more than 2 hours before my butt hurts for lack of cushioning and support. Very uncomfortable on any trip. I have to have a cushion to provide the padding I need. We like the car for the quietness and ride but will have to have the driver seat rebuilt if we keep it much longer. The improved 3.8 V6 is the engine I have driven for past 30years.

My 2nd Cadillac XT5
Unless you are tall, consider adding running boards at the start. This car has get up and go that you wouldn't expect from an inline 4 cylinder. Handles easily and is fun to drive--amazing for a SUV.

Smooth ride
Everything very nice, however there is no headroom in the back seat, if you're taller than 5'8. Forget it.
Test Ride and leased the 2020 Cadillac XT5 AWD
I test rode the Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury, and it ran beautifully--responsive due to the 9 speed transmission, quiet and the appointments are first class luxury. I order/leased the vehicle beat the Lincoln Nautilus hands down. I had to factory order the car because of all of the safety features and additional options as well as the color. Expect to have the vehicle sometime in mid-April. Got a great deal and the monthly lease was much less than the Audi and the Lincoln.

Cadillac XT5
Dry good suv. Lots of pick up and go. If you want to add a trailer hitch, it’s all basically plug and play including the wiring
The Cadillac rides great!
The new Cadillac XT5 rides and handles great. It has gotten better than expected MPG. It is a little short on special features that I had in a Nissan Rogue, however.

Road noise roars like a wild cat!
Too much road noise. Makes traveling by car uncomfortable on long road trips.
Drove one for an extended rental
The auto stop/start cannot be disabled. Very annoying.

Overall great ride
The wife and I bought a certified used XT5 premium luxury and this review is being posted after less than a week. It is a great looking vehicle, conservatively styled compared to some of its competition some of which I think are over styled and gimmicky. Having not had a lot of luxury type vehicles I think the interior is beautiful in the Sedona color with real wood accents. It is 3-1/2 years old with 24,000 miles but it looks and drives like a new car.. Ride quality is very good and it is quiet except over rough concrete roads but I think that is the case with almost all vehicles. While the seats cushions are not as soft as our previous Buick they are supportive and comfortable and I think they should be ok on a longer trip but have yet to find out. The Premium Luxury has many features standard which is one of reasons for choosing it over used non-luxury brands with similar options. There are simply many more of these vehicles available especially as they come off lease. Features include: Pano sunroof, great sounding 14 speaker Bose sound system, built in Nav, power folding mirrors and tailgate, all modern safety features, night time ambient lighting, memory seating, rain sensing wipers, cornering lamps and more. The infotainment system takes a while to figure out but we are getting there. It does not have 3D camera, HUD, or adaptive cruise control. Second row room is more than adequate and with them folded down it has 63 cubic feet of space. The V-6 has plenty of power and the 9 speed transmission is smooth once it adapts to your style of driving. The gas mileage around town so far is only abut 17 MPG. The best 25 mile average showing on the computer is 35 MPG. I will see if I can match that on a road trip when we take one. At least it takes regular gas and not premium like most of the 4 cyl turbos. A car getting 20 MPG using regular gas has around the same fuel cost as one getting 25 MPG using premium, at least comparing the price differential of the 2 grades around here. Buying certified from Cadillac means they add a year to the bumper to bumper warranty which goes to 5 years and the powertrain which goes to 7 years. JD Power also rates the XT5 as the most reliable mid size luxury SUV. In conclusion for around half the cost of a new one we are very happy with our purchase.

Prefer my SRX
I just recently bought a 2020 Cadillac xt5 premium luxury. Say the least I am very disappointed when I compare it to my 2010 SRX. To me they put unnecessary add-ons in the car and took away luxury. I don't think many young people by Cadillacs. I prefer more simplistic over too much technology. I find the car to be more sporty than I do luxury...very disappointed!!! I wished I had test driven some other models before choosing this Cadillac.

Two test rides, too much road noise.
I have to say that I really liked the styling both inside and out. The comfort and convenience were acceptable. I still find it hard to get used to not having a multi-disk CD player to enjoy when on the road. I cant believe that they use the "new tech" excuse for no longer offering a CD player as an option, But not offer a "Dash Camera" as standard which would be considered "New Tech". The road noise was the primary reason I did not buy a new XT-5. I tried all verities of pavement but still the noise was there. I thought that a door, window, or tailgate was opened or ajar; Very disappointed! Its not a mystery why customers are moving to foreign vehicle brands. The prices keep going up, but the quality seems to be going down of late. I was told that a "trailer towing package" is no longer an option as well. If the Cadillac brand is the best that GM can offer then I'm looking elsewhere.
better than expected
I've owned many premium cars and suv's...mostly foreign, but this Caddy over time has really grown on me. I thought of trading it last year...but now I don't think so because I look forward to driving it. Comfort, V6power, Reliability, Style, and Value. Thinking of trading a new Volvo in for another Caddy.

None to be had
Beautiful car, beautiful ride. Unfortunately unless you can afford a loaded one there were none available within 1,000 miles.
Nice interior and exterior, but that is all !
I bought a Cadillac XT5 PLATINUM. I expected luxury and convenience. I got the luxury, but the comfort is zero! Seats like a stone. Soft is terribly stupid. I can't see the average fuel consumption just instantaneous or 39l to 100miles. And "Magnetic Ride" my 2011 VW TOUAREG driving much better. So if you want comfort buy Mercedes-Benz or Volvo, but not a Cadillac. Because the Cadillac has got luxury, zero comfort.

I am happy w it
I have been a lexus guy my whole life, truth is still have 5 in the family. I never owned a caddy hence drove from Indy to Appleton WI ( wanted the sport V6 with the brown interior-did I mention the 14 Bose speakers in it)? I will agree the seats are a bit firm, but love how it handles! We are gonna drive out West this fall and put it the tour mode vs the sport to see if i softens up the 2500 mile ride.

Stylish Caddy
Great vehicle that I purchased 2 weeks ago.
A catchy title
Not a bad vehicle but a drop down from my CT6. More buttons and doo-dads on this one and the ride is entirely different than my other car and a bit less luxurious. But it's a nice car and suitable. Oh, and it's NOT an SUV but a Crossover.
Love my 2020 XT5
I have the luxury model and just love it. I've had it for 2 years and have always owned GM vehicles mostly Buicks though. This is smooth and comfy on long road trips and has everything I need within reach while driving. The only complaint is the Onstar. Had to replace it because it went out right when the warranty expired. This is a common issue and needs to be resolved.

What should be covered on a lease
We previously leased a 2014 ATS Cadillac. We had free oil changes and tire rotations on vehicle for entire lease. Now we're leasing a 2020 Cadillac XT5, but only received one free oil change and tire rotation. Why isn't these items free on the 2020 XT5? I feel if it was free on ATS it should be the same on the XT5, because you already pay a large payment. We only purchased tire warranty on both vehicles. Preferred dealership don't send out any discount coupons. So with this being said, we will probably not go with a Cadillac after this lease is up. I feel that Cadillac should offer more incentives to new and returning customers. If not we'll take our business somewhere we are appreciated as a customer.
