Used 1995 Cadillac Seville Consumer Reviews
1994 cadillac sts
purchased car with 94,000 miles, now have 116,000 did normal services, tires, brakes, cooling system, repaired wires that shorted out going to fuel injectors. Car runs well gets 17 to 26 miles a gallon. Bose stereo is great, handles well, ac compressor went out have to be replaced. car is driven to work 25 miles a day but performs well on the road at 70 to 75 mph
Nothing Compares..not even new!
This car was purchased when 2 yrs old. It is the most awesome vehicle in so many ways. When you compare the features it came with in 1995 to the features offered today, it was way ahead of its time. The body style is head turning and it is difficult to tell what year it is from the body style as the cts today looks very similar. Maintenance has been minimal to non existent. I only have 80,000 miles on her but I too, will never own any other make of car other than Cadillac. This vehicle is a blast to drive on the interstate, it is a cruising machine, quiet, smooth and gets up the asphalt when necessary! It has all you could ever want, looks, dependability and power. I would highly recommend!

Very Fast / Sips Fuel
My 1995 Cadillac Seville does 0-60 in 6.6 sec., which is quick by any standard. There are lots of embarrassed hotshots driving Infiniti G35s, Infiniti FX35s, some elderly Camaros & Mustangs wondering what happened. Also, noted a number of complaints regarding fuel mileage - my experience is just the opposite- I can't believe a vehicle with this kind of performance gets 19.8 mpg in mixed city driving and 26 to 28 mpg at 70 to 80 mph on the highway. Amazing- or maybe I have a light foot. My 2005 Honda CRV gets 21 mpg in the city and 26 to 28 mpg on the highway and it sure doesn't crank like the Caddy.
Driving with my SLS
My 1994 Cadillac Seville is wonderfully powerful and gets me down the road in fine style. It has quick acceleration with it's V8 Northstar engine. I have 135,000 miles on the car now and the interior is still in showroom condition. I recently replaced the shaft on the torque converter (cracked), installed a new water pump and new battery. She still runs strong and steady at this mileage and I hope to have her for years to come.
Love this car
I'm not rich so I have to wait years before I can get the car I want. I found this car with 80,000 miles on it a one owner and looks bring new. Still has the sicker price from 1995, $46,720 that was a lot of money for a car. But now that I got one it's worth every penny of that. The Bose system is great. The gas mileage is OK 20.4 in town. I would buy a new one today if I could afford it.
I'll Never Drive Anything Else
I bought my 1995 Cadillac Seville in 1999 when it had 72,000 miles on it. It now has 157,000 miles and is going strong. It looks great and drives wonderfully. I have had one small repair done on it. I replaced tires with Michelins, and that improved the handling greatly. I recently bought a 2001 Cadillac STS and passed this car on to my son. I only hope the newer one is half the car this one has been. It is worth every penny, new or used!
Power , Luxury and Reliability
I bought this car used when it had only 44,000 miles on it. It now has about 81,000 miles and the only expenses I have incurred are a battery, tires and a driver's side window motor. All electronics work well. Wow!! the Bose system is fantastic and the gas mileage is incredible 18 around town and 28 on the highway. I would definitely own another.
Whatever happened to American muscle?
I purchased this from a man who took great care of it. I was quite surprised with the power put in such a heavy car. I love driving it on this extremely hot Georgia days. Plus the engine is over 10 years old and still smooth as a brand new engine, not to mention virtualy impossible to destroy.
A great car
This has been my second Seville. The first was a 1976 classic that I had for fourteen years and 165,000 miles. Loved it. This one -- in the white diamond with tan interior -- has been a flawless car and I like it as much today as I did then. It has been completely reliable, very stylish, nothing but ordinary maintenance. A gem.
best decision. ever.
i bought this car 6 years ago with almost 100,000 miles on it. it now has almost 150k and it is still awesome. super fast! and so advanced technically for a 95! considering the 300hp v8 engine it has surprisingly good fuel economy. the only thing ive replaced is the LED third brake light which is a common problem and the fuel line which is actually a recalled gm problem that gm paid for. i love this car and will miss it when im gone. it is the best purchase of my life! im a cadillac man forever now.
15 years of a GREAT CAR
I ordered her new in '95/have LOVED her ever since. She is still one of THE hottest driving & looking cars around (shale w/custom navy coach top & RR grille). I STILL constantly get compliments on her- even from the younger generation. Loaned her to my son/thought I'd never get her back. Essentially routine maintenace with a few expected things now that she just turned over 100Kmiles & is just NOW after 15 YEARS due for her first tune up. In ALL OF 15 yrs, have replaced a/c compressor,1 set of brakes EVER,radiator core, water pump @ 70K miles& just recently, the transmission at99Kmiles/a brand new one cost 1700. - figure that's pretty cheap after 15 years of essentially trouble free driving! -
Just bought my SECOND SLS!
I fell in love with the Seville the first time I saw on in the mid 1990s. I bought my first, a 1994 SLS in 2002, Blue/Blue, 24k miles, yes 8 years old and 24k miles. Loved the car for 6 years and over 100k miles until it developed a bad engine knock in NWT, Canada. Did not have the funds or service option so I sold it cheap. The only major problem I had with the car was oil leaks, which I have heard is common w/Northstar. Wasted 2-4 grand trying to fix it. Last month I bought my second SLS, a 1995 Green/beige w/carriage top. This one had only 21.4k miles anc cost $5,000. A new Civic at the dealership was $20 grand. No brainer!!
Nice Car
I bought the car used about one and half years ago with 82000 miles now the car has 94000 miles. Use the mostly for long trip since it is more comfortable than my newer cars. It is a used car and I will be getting new brake pads and tires this year.
Seville SLS (get an extended warranty)
Would highly recommend extended warranty if you buy. Purchased with 62,000 Replaced, alternator, transmission, struts, within three years. Also had major oil leak a 3K repair. Thanks to extended warranty I paid 800.00 out of pocket on 7k worth of repairs. All repairs are expensive expecially at the Cadillac dealer.
Great used luxury ride
Bought my SLS at 33,000 miles, now at 91,000 miles -- very reliable, but repairs can be expensive -- the extended warranty saved me, but has now expired. I could buy another car, but this one still looks new and drives great. Dreading future repairs.
It is a Great Car!
The Seville has been preety good to me over the last eleven years. I have had to replace a couple of things on it in the last year that have gotten a little out of wack, but this is to be expected with any car over ten years old. The car otherwise is great and I see it still being around for a long time. It is still holding up pretty well. It still has a great ride and it works really well as long as it's maintenance is up to date. I would never trade this car, not even for a new CTS. I recommend a Cadillac to anyone and I know. They just make them even better with time.
94 STS Review
Overall the quality of the vehicle is top notch, but I have had the transmission and A/C Compressor replaced in the last year. Both were very expensive repairs, but worth it considering the overall value of the car. All repairs are expensive. I would own another STS, but not without a warranty.
Once You Own A Cadillac...
Once I changed the tires over to the Bridgestone Potanza 950s I was very happy with the handling and ride of the 95 Seville. Still rather see all that horsepower driven by the rear wheels.
Great Car
I just bought a 95 STS. This car is amazingly comfortable and great ride. It is powerful engine rolls this huge car well. I am very impressed with it and working on getting the stereo and other parts upgraded to my specifications. Looking to get white rim wheels for it at some point if I find ones that fit the bill.
Overall a great car- want a newer model
I bought this car two years ago and love it - the only things I have replaced are the brakes and a couple of hundred dollar items, but I have had to have the car towed twice for those silly inexpensive items. The engine is super poweful and fast, but has started to idle a little off. overall a great performance vehicle
great used car purchase
needed a new fuel pressure regulator and some TLC, but with a set of Michelins added,, it has been a great car. Will buy another. At 140,000 miles , it is going strong.
My Cadi SLS
I have had the car since almost new. It has needed a few repairs fuel pump after 10 years, HVAC blower/fan blower motor after 10 years, engine fan after 13 years. I don't regard these as major items. The vehicle rides great (after replacing sway bar bushings $10) these make the car sound so much better after going over bumps. Should be replaced every few years as they get hard and allow the noise to get in. Car is excellent! I would purchase another when I think there is no more life in this one.
Served me well....until warranty ran out
Was treated royally by dealership until warranty ran out. Air conditioner problems were "treated" with the most expensive options and finally solved with an $89.00 outside temperature sensor. Now the temperature adjusts to the setting rather than blowing out hot air at a 65 degree setting. Have had blower motor replaced twice and compressor twice, both not the solution at my expense of over $3,000, as I was told this would "fix the problem". Not so...the $89 part fixed it. Don't go to dealers with your problems.
Modern Day Classic Car!
After only 6 weeks I'm not able to rate reliability, but based on performance, ride, style, and comfort this car is hard to beat for the money. I would say a clean, well-maintained, and low mileage Cadillac Seville STS is a "Best Buy." It has a 300 hp engine, averages 19.5 mpg in city with 25+ on highway, goes 0-60mph in 6.4-7.0 sec, has heated seats, power sunroof, and leather for $4,788! Unbelievable! This is one of the better handling front wheel drive cars I've driven. For 300 hp, the torque steer isn't that bad.
sts
great sercice vehicle. Repairs have been at minimum other thab tires and computer replacement which was under warranty in first 5 years.
'94 Seville STS
This isn't my daddy's caddie!! What a difference a few years make. The car is a lot of fun to drive and I never get tired of it. Who would know that the car can do 0-60 in 7 by just looking at it. I have never timed it myself, but I'm sure it's up there. But with the Northstar, altough performance & design are wonderful, be prepared to spend some money when things do go wrong.
STS review
best front wheel drive sedan I have owned.
Seville Quality
After 140,000 miles this is a solid performer with no major problems. We have newer cars but this is the vehicle of choice, especially for long trips.
It opened the FAST Sedan Market
The 1994 Cadillac Seville is really a wonderful car especially when you consider their now low market value. This car was a real plus for me especially when street racing. This grandma car can sock it to a lot of unsuspecting sports cars, and it is all packaged within a four- door sedan, ultimately meaning lower insurance. If you want a car that is fast enough to smoke the V-8 sports cars but still rides like a dream this is the car for you. The one downside can be suspected, the V8 engine drinks the fuel down in town, but out on the open road cruising at 80 mph you can expect anywhere from 20-28 mpg. Overall this is a comfortable, fast luxury sedan that doesn't like to putts around in town.
what-a-car!
The Northstar motor in my 1994 Cadillac Seville STS is terrific! Smooth and powerful. I have 145,000 miles and between changes it uses only the oil to lower the level on the dipstick to "add". But why add when it is time to change anyway. The oil life remaining in percentage is a neat feature. Much highway driving will yield as much as 7,000 miles between changes. Gas mileage is between 18 and 22 m.p.g. (city or highway). The cruise control feature I use extensively and is slick. Set it for 8 m.p.h over the speed limit and I am in no danger of getting a ticket. The leather is nice, trunk space is abundant, and the dashboard display is good.
Great Car, Love It
This is my second Cadillac. I have loved the body style of the '94 Seville STS for years and finally bought one. My car is white diamond and man does it look good in that color. The car has great performance and is fun to drive. The only drawback is the cup holders stink, they are too small and too short.
Seville Woes
I've owned 2 Cadillacs so far, and they were absolutely wonderful Automobiles until they hit 70,000 miles, both vehicles disintegrated before my eyes. I have paid more in repairs for the Seville than I paid for it in the first place. In the last year I have had to replace the transmission, water pump, shocks and struts, power window motor, front brake calipers and rotors.
94 STS
i am a proud owner of a 1994 Seville sts. this car drives and rides like a dream i purchased this car for a very good price the only problem is , i spent more on repairs than i paid for the car. don't get me wrong i love this car but the very sensitive Northstar engine demands maintenance. failure to do so will result in very expensive repairs
Sold on Seville
Excellent car overall. Had a little trouble with computers at first, but the dealer backed it 100%. It really turns heads going down the street! Lots of power but could have higher fuel economy.
GREAT CAR NEW OR USED
MY CAR HS OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT LOOKING TO GET A NEW ONE.BECAUSE WE TRAVEL ALOT IN THIS CAR.GRAET CAR TO DRIVE IT HAS ALOT OF PROWER.
My favorite cadillac
Very good car. I bought it for my teenage son. He loves it.
Northstar=exciting
i was skeptical of a car this heavy, but the STS can certainly move. dont let the big caddy image fool you, it will tear up backroads with ease
my car
i have had this car for more than a year and nothing has had to be replaced other than things under scheduled maintenance
Love my STS
Love to step on it. Great, reliable, punchy and looks great as a 4 door
Muscle car in an Armani Suit!
When I bought this car it still looked brand new. I love to look at it in the reflection of other cars on the highway. I am now a caddy man for life. The only problem I have is that it burns a lot of gas, but I guess thats the cost of looking good!
Hot Rod with Comfort
I bought this car used with 102,000 miles and it runs great has good power and great comfort. The only bad think is the fwd make torque steer a little annoying when you punch the trottle and there isn't hardly any aftermarket performance parts for the Northstar motor. The STS is a great highway cruiser though and you gotta love the exterior look it does not have the grandmother look that some other cars in its class.
I love my Cadillac
My car looks like a later model than 1995 because I take excellent care of it. I have it serviced every three months. Practically new Michelin tires. Driven my a "little old lady." I would just like a little newer model. I've had many compliments on my car. Love the color (shale).
Sevill Review
This car has been the best thing i have ever owned. Its very advanced for a 95, it really, still feels like a brand new car. Its also VERY fast. Again you think...this car is a 95...8 years old. It pumps out about 300 horse power, with the northstar V8. I would recomend this car to anybody.
NO MORE GM
POOR QUALITY FOR THE PRICE. HAVE REPLACED FUEL PUMP, ENGINE MOUNTS AND THE BODY MOLDING IS FALLING OFF.
Lemonade
After 1 year of ownership, the transmission went twice, the air compressor went, the paint is faded on the roof, hood, and trunk lid,the engine leaks oil and ruined my driveway. The interior is coming apart. The seat has split,I had the console recovered, the headliner wrinkled and I had that repaired, now th door panels are coming apart and they need to be repaired. When I contacted the Cadillac factory rep. he told me to bad it's a used car. I will never purchase a General Motors product ever again.
Buy a STS
I enjoy my Cadillac, and looking for a new car for my wife the new car salespeople are always quiet when I say I drive a STS. They have a lot to say about my wife and her car which is a Mercury Sable (which has been a wonderful car).
