I am a Torontonian, own BMW 2018 X3 series, redesigned, Factory Delivered on lease for 4 years, I love my vehicle with all the features. After 2 yrs of Driving 40K, I was told by the service department that both front tires outside thread were worn out and needs to be replaced. Since each tire individually functions, the tire rotation is not a choice. I was suggested to replace both the front tires and get the wheel alignment done. No past accidents, No rough driving, no rim damage with curb hit. Surprisingly, new car, one owner, low tire thread??, I suspect, lane assist system retracts vehicle between lane marking, especially on curved highway.Cannot Prove, I was told once the lease period ends after 4 yrs, at 80K I will have to replace the tire as per lease agreement. I am very much disappointed that with no fault of mine I have to replace the tire twice during the 4 years lease period. The manufacturer experiment on customers expense. Other X3 owner feedback is welcome.

Bmw has added plastic inside the doors instead of metal and changed the windows making the cabin noise LOUD. Like you have a window open!!

Bluetooth audio has major delays, car play is a joke since it shows significant delay. handling is good, acceleration is good, i find the leather seats a bit too hard to sit for long time (hr + ) drive. best Heads up display on the market, wish they had a custom button on the steering that allows me to select next rack instead of reaching all the way to the passenger side. Main grip is bluetooth, my 2014 cayenne never had the sync delay, nor is the cheaper jap rentals on road trips. suspect BMW is using inferior BT module to save money, but for a 2018 car this is a real sore spot.

What a change from a CRV

My BMW X3 is rock solid in feel and perceived quality. Everything is very logically laid out. The new iDrive takes a bit getting used to (many changes from my 2014 428). I have now driven it a bit about 700 miles so things could change, but so far so good. Mileage for over 500 highway miles came to 29.2 mpg. Some 25000 miles later - in just 18 months. My lifetime average for the X3 stands at 30.7. Most of my driving has been highway - Ohio to CT and back usually. The vehicle is very comfortable to drive and ride in. Luggage space somewhat reduced by the non run flat tires and hence a spare tire is reduced appreciably and is much less than my CRV - removing the soft cover gives some relief, but space is still at a premium. I have had two visits to the dealer - both for regular specified oil changes. I wish I had opted for the adaptive cruise control and NOT opted for the towing hook (in the off chance I want to haul some bikes) and Apple Play. Apple play implementation is horrible and I have it turned off. The "BMW Connected" is wonderful, I can look around the vehicle, lower windows, sound an alarm etc, also send destination information directly to the system so when I start up it knows where to go. UPDATE: I had numerous problems with the 360 camera and other electronics. Two dealer visits, it had been 'fixed'. But not really, sometimes it still acted up. In some 38000 miles (mainly highway) the vehicle was a delight to drive, 500+ range and a lifetime average of 30.5 mpg! Nothing to complain. We decided to cut down our vehicles to just 2 and the X3 did not make the cut.
