Highly recommend buying
I also got one of the first cars available. The power is available at anytime and comes on smooth and consistent. The seats are the best I have ever seen, and the car just begs to be driven and driven hard. I find it hard not to grab the keys and head for the twisties everytime I look at it. The S4 is surprisingly a very comfortable ride without the harsh and punishing rides often associated in this class of car. I feel I could drive this car across the country without a single complaint from me or my passenger. The V-8 rumble is irresistable to the ears!
MY AUDI S4 IS AWESOME
I had been waiting for my lease to end and have been holding out for a car that offered performance, 4 doors, and all- wheel drive. The M3 only has 2 doors and a manual tranny; The AMG lacks some sportiness, body style is ok but unassuming, also costs more too. This car hauls and the all-wheel drive makes the tires power all 4 wheels while gripping the road like glue. The tires are special continental 18 inch high performance tires that came with the car and are specially tested and matched to the audi S4 at the factory.

The 2004 S-4 is a Solid Success
The 2004 S-4 has the best across-the- board torque I have ever experienced. Acceleration is superior even in sixth gear. The shifter is quick and precise, and the exhaust note is thunderous (though not for anyone who thinks a quiet, serene ride is a high priority). Handling is outstanding and ride quality is refined without compromising the tautness and road feel expected from a performance sport sedan.
S4 - Audi's Premier Sports Sedan
This is one super automobile. Car is 4 months old with about 7500 miles. Performance is outstanding even with the 6 speed Tiptronic. Handling is superior with the 18 in tires. Car is a smallish, tight rocket ship with 340 hp and a V8 engine. Recaro seats are superb. Fit and finsih are superb. On- Star Telematics with built in phone is a real plus. S4 is expensive, but on balance, worth it. Unless you can afford the RS6, this is the car to go with. Forget the M3, go for the S4 with awd.
Best in B-segment.
More versatile than an M3 and more sporting character than a C32 AMG and S60R...Car and Driver likes it better than the M3 and C32, and so do I. If you want a smooth rocket-ship with plenty of torque on tap for just about anything you want to do, it's there. Quattro handles like a dream and the car looks awesome.
