I love this SUV
Update after a year: I lowered the Interior rating to 3 stars. I'm very conscious of unwanted cabin sounds, especially rattling noises. They ruin the driving experience for me. Around the 8 month mark, I had to take it to the dealer for a door rattle that turned out to be related to a defect in the window rail. I also hear some soft fluttering sounds from the roof area (with the curtain/shade open or closed) ... but it's intermittent and the dealer apparently won't even look at it if I can't reproduce it with one of their mechanics on a drive-along. The door pockets are hard molded plastic and makes some water bottles rattle. -------------------------- First, the negatives: There are a few things that are a little irritating. I sometimes bump my knee against the dash when getting in. The seat can be adjusted, of course, but when you are in hurry (like when it's raining), I suspect you'd bump your knee. The dash and headlight controls could be pushed a little further in. Also, I sometimes hear some low level vibration in the rear door panels. I think it is more noticeable when my daughter puts her water bottle in the door pocket, but sturdier materials would probably help with the noise. Also the dash panel switches are brushed plastic type things. BMW uses more glossy materials which just look better. But the thing handles like a boss. The acceleration is pretty impressive, even for the 2.0 T. I switch between the Dynamic and Sport mode mostly and performance level change is incredible. Only had this for a month, so reliability questions are not applicable. The seats are spacious and comfortable. The 3rd row can seat average sized adults if needed. The trunk has plenty of space. The panorama roof if beautiful. The cabin lights, exterior lights, and assist lights are thoughtfully designed and soberly placed (not a glaring bright wash of harsh lights when you open the door). The cameras and console display are great. The LCD display on the dash is very useful and adjustable. And the handling! Yes, the handling! All in all, a winner. I'd buy it again!

Unexpected performance, but very costly to repair
My last four new cars had been Lexus LS and GX series. I was used to the luxury of the Lexus brand, but now that I purchased my Audi Q7, I have come to appreciate both the luxury AND performance of this Audi. It handles like a sports car (due to the optional adaptive chassis package updgrade) and still privides total luxury. I now feel that I am in control of the road. 9/24 Update: 40,000 mile (6th year of ownership) dealer service was over $3,000. I still love the car, but you should be prepared for spending a lot of money to maintain it.

Brilliant SUV for the money.
I just bought a 2018 Ink blue Q7 Prestige a couple weeks ago. The interior is well executed and made up of high quality materials. The technology is impressive, with the Virtual Cockpit being the best tech feature in the car. The 558 watt Bose 3D surround sound system delivers clear crisp sound. Performance is very impressive. The power is always there, and the fuel economy is okay. The only shortcoming is cargo volume, the low roofline doesn't help. I Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a luxury SUV.

Overrated Audi Quality and Customer Satisfaction
I purchased 2018 Audi Q7 (Sep 2017). I confirmed the purchase trusting the dealership to do the right thing. The car I purchased was just unloaded off from delivery the day that I inquired. The unit was still wrapped. I did not able to test drive the car. I was assured that the new Q7 will be inspected and will be thoroughly cleaned. . . However, the car was delivered with serious paint defect - heavy pitting on rear quarter panel and tail gate (It looked like chemical that ate the paint. Deep pitted surfaces). And, driver side doors are not aligned. I requested Keyes Audi to replace it with non-defective one or cancel the sale. The arrogant GM said "Sorry, it's not going to happen". Long story short I was forced to bring in the car (never used). It took 2 weeks for the brand new 2018 Audi Q7 in the dealership. Later I found out that it was sent to a auto body shop 3 miles away. I was able to get in touch with the manager of the body shop. Job order: remove paint from tail gate and rear quarter panel, feather fill and repaint. It looked OK - but it is not factory process. . . Door alignment never got fixed. Gen Manager of Keyes Audi said that there is no more adjustment possible. Front and Rear door off by 3mm. That's the Audi quality? And the defect is not even repairable. Audi of America is not even doing anything to make up for the defects. All they do is check the dealership on what they have to say. And they talk like parrots, kept saying "Audi will continue work within the terms of any applicable manufacturer's warranty" when I spoke with them. Adding more insult, I checked in the car with 53 miles then checked out with almost 30 miles added - GM will not even investigate. Also, the tire jack was not in the car (I checked that FREE option when I build up the unit I prefer). Keyes Audi GM said the jack is available for $270 (scissor jack). . . In short, I was forced to accept the car. In November 2017, I drove the car to Las Vegas on a 4-hour trip. Halfway my trip, the alarm sounded off. I immediately made an emergency call to Audi Support Center. But all they can say is to bring it back to dealership. Having no other option. We proceeded to our destination. The car kept beeping every couple of minutes for 2 hours! On our way home, it still kept beeping the whole duration of the trip (4 hours!). But the worse part was when we took a detour to Barstow, CA for a short rest, the car just slammed the break by itself and made a hard stop at the freeway off-ramp, then a louder beep sounded off with indicator lights flashing. It was a very dangerous occurrence. It is fortunate that it was in an isolated road at that time. Otherwise, it could have been a serious accident. I filed another complaint and still no commitment from dealership on my request to replace it. The car was picked up by dealer for series of checks and repairs (3 week duration). I finally decided to start a legal remedy and this time Audi USA took me seriously. I was offered to have a brand new replacement but I changed my mind already and demanded for full refund. Took couple of months of negotiation. I got my full refund + customer loyalty $2,500 if I buy another car in the VW group. The dealership Keyes Audi is the worst I ever dealt with. . . I decided to lease a 2018 Camry SE Hybrid - driver assistance package (TSS) is a lot better than Audi. With actual MPG of 44+... I am waiting for the new Lexus 350 Hybrid with Apple Car play. Owning that 2018 Q7 dream car was a nightmare..

No spare tire???
I was going to place an order for a fully equipped Prestige Q7 but the night before, while going over the list of features, I discovered the Q7 is not equipped with a spare tire nor is there space to carry one . The next morning I called the tire dealer I generally use, Les Schwab Tires, and was told the 20” tires I was going to have the Q7 equipped would be a special order. The can of fix a flat and compressor, that is included in lieu of a spare, is only good for 1/4”, or smaller, puncture in the tread of the tire. The fix a flat goop is of no use on a side wall cut which is not an uncommon occurrence on an SUV especially one as capable off road as the Q7. The run flat tires have a recommended driving range of 50 miles. As I frequently travel in Central Nevada, Idaho and Wyoming, often outside of phone coverage, anyone familiar with these areas is aware that 50 miles is an inconsequential distance in many parts of the West. However if I were to be fortunate enough to be within miles of say Beatty Nevada what are the chances of finding a tire there that I could not find in Denver? The Q7 I was about to order was 93K which is too much to spend for a vehicle that could leave me stranded for something as simple as a flat tire.

never deal with Audi
Last October, my husband bought me a brand-new 2018 Q7 car, as a gift, from Audi Silver Spring, Maryland. Surprisingly, in less than a month, a sudden annoying beep, repeatedly announcing an Emergency Call Malfunction, terrified us. After contacting Audi Service, they took the car on November 24th, 2017, and promised to fix it in a day or two, saying they know about 2018 Q7 car defect. This comment rang a bell in our mind. If they already know about it, why Audi sell it without fixing it?! Is this a fair trade?! After more than 20 days later, Audi did not fix the car. Going back and forth, finally Audi’s Service Department told us that they could not fix the car, because a part was not received from Germany! This was not just an irrational excuse; but, also, a gross insult to us for spending over sixty-seven thousand dollars on an Audi car, and receive such poor service! Is this a fair trade?! Anyhow, to solve this problem amicably, I told Audi’s Manager either to give us a full refund, or a new similar car. The latter agreed to provide us a new similar car in a few days. Alas, Audi did not fulfill its promise, again. For the benefit of doubt, we gave Audi’s Manager a longer delay; saying we are travelling and will be back around mid- January. By then, we expect you to give us a similar car, or a full refund. Sadly, Audi did not fulfill its promise, for the third time. By definition, a brand-new car means a defect-free car. Hiding the 2018 Q7 car defect is an act of misleading and dishonesty. This defect is known by Audi and its dealership since some time. Yet, Audi did not tell us about it. Thus, Audi deceived us in selling this car. Plus, our 2018 Q7 car is considered a lemon car by Federal and State Law. Audi’s Dealership knows that I am a science major and must concentrate on my studies. Audi wasted our time for three months for no legitimate reason; during which we were – and still are – paying installments, interest, and insurance on a car, which we are not using since last November; because it is in Audi’s possession. Audi’s dealership has frustrated us, disappointed us, caused us to suffer, and denied us the enjoyment of using our own brand-new car. By any standard, Audi’s transaction is – unethical and unfair. Audi’s Director of Variable Operations offered us his apology for causing us this ordeal. Does he really think that his apology shall alleviate our suffering?! Based upon the aforesaid trouble, we find it very difficult for us to trust Audi anymore! We honestly believe that if Audi and its dealership care about their name, business and reputation, they must cancel this deal as well as its loan, immediately; pay us a full refund of our money, including all interest, insurance, and installments we made.

Great car - Noisy breaks!
Love the car but breaks make loud noise when backing up and applying break. Brought it in for repair at Warrington Audi in Pa and they couldn't fix it. They said it was normal. Yeah right . What bull.

New 2018 Audi Q7 breaks in 100 miles !!!!!
I leased a new 2018 Audi Q7 from Audi Manhattan and it broke down on the first trip within a 100 miles. We were told that the computer hard drive had a problem. We asked for a replacement of the vehicle and we were passed onto Audi Corporate who promised a response in a week. I called today after a week and was passed onto Audi leasing. I am still waiting on a resolution. !!!!

Least reliable vehicle I’ve owned
I have had this car for less than a year, and on two separate occasions it has completely shut down while I was driving. Both times the car was towed to the dealership where they could not duplicate the problem. Therefore no repairs were made. Audi will not buy the car back, and I am left wondering when and where I will be stranded with my young children. Hopefully somewhere safe and not far from home. Not cool. I will never buy another Audi.

NO SPARE TIRE -- NO SALE
I test drove 2 loaded Q7'so and was really thrilled about the car and willing to fork over 72K until I found out about it having only run-flat tires and no possibility of a spare of any sort. And the Q7 specific tire is apparently unique to the Q7, so getting a replacement in rural areas would involve spending a day or three in Bates Motel accommodations waiting for the new tire. Also, since the tires are more performance rather than high mileage rated, you'll likely buy a pair if the tires are over 15k miles. And the tires are pricey too at $300 to 400. So $800 for 2 tires, at least one overnight stay somewhere you didn't want, and Bubba doing the work. Since I do like driving cross country, no thanks.

Glitchy and unsafe
1. A small rock apparently had come through and damaged my auxiliary radiator which is not covered under warranty. In retrospect I discovered that the lower bumper air vent is without any protection and Audi had similar problem with other models. 2. The infotainment system is hard to use. Moreover to benefit from some advertised options you have to buy ATT data connection even when you have your own Verizon phone with unlimited data. 3. There is no tint on the windshield from the top and if you are under 6 feet it could be a problem with the orientation of the windshield. 4. The panoramic sunroof is covered by a flimsy cloth which is inadequate and hot under the sun. 5. Lane recognition is very unreliable. 6. The sound system even in my prestige leaves much to be desired. 7. It doesn’t have a simple break hold that Honda’s have nowadays. 8. Good luck and happy dancing while trying to open the trunk by inserting your foot under the bumper. 9. Electric issues with cameras suddenly deciding to turn off while backing.

Running Flats/ Cost of Repairs BIG NEGATIVE
We purchased our Third Q7 in 2018 We loved the car until this model, We travel to Vermont most weekends in the winter. We purchased wheels and snow tires to change over each winter and the car handled great in the snow.( Better then our Lexus 470 with 4 wheel drive) The car now has Running Flats which don't come in snow tires. The 2018 with the running flats is a" no go in the snow" . With no spare or jack changing to snow tires is not an option. The wear on them was also poor. We also lost the storage compartments under the front seats and rear area above where the spare was housed Audi has also designed the car to tie you to the dealer for repairs. The battery is under the front seat which must be removed to change the battery and electronics reprogrammed. It cost $850 to change the battery. Want to change the headlight be prepared to remove the front bumper! Go to a quick lube for an oil change can't get wiper blades gotta go to the Audi dealer for them Too bad they screwed up a really good car
Update @80K - Still Love the car. Maint $$$ high
Update as of 5/16/22. The Q7 is still a great car and it drives like new at 80K miles. My only issue remains the brake squeal. I do not think this is an issue with other model years. I would buy another Q7 but for the 2018 model, I would test the brakes in reverse to make sure there was no squeal. The dealer did replace the brakes at a discounted rate after I got Audi NA involved. This worked for about 15K miles. After three years and almost 50K+ miles, I still love the car. However, the maintenance is very expensive (almost $2K for OEM tires) and was just quoted $3K for a complete brake job. The brake squeal, which seems to be a known issue, is frustrating but the dealer finally fixed it at 40K+ miles. Everyone that rides in the car still says wow but they also say $70K is a lot to pay for a car and had such a brake squeal. Update 3/18. Just passed 35,000 miles and no changes to my impression as I think it remains best in class. I would purchase again without reservation. The only negatives I have encountered is that service, any service, at the dealership is expensive. Great service and they take care of Audi owners but it is expensive. The only mechanical issue is that the brakes squeal for the first few seconds in reverse after becoming wet and then drying. This is a common thread on owner forums.

Q7 initial observations after 4K
Mostly pleased with vehicle and can recommend. 2.0 engine is all the power the average driver needs. A few negative surprises and one real complaint: if you are roughly 6'2" or over, definitely more challenging to get in/out (than my MDX). Perhaps it is a function of having the drivers seat back, but the rearview mirror gets in the field of vision when making a rt. sharp turn; doorpost semi-blocks line of sight when looking back over left shoulder. Make sure you measure width of your garage door opening and garage space--Q7 definitely a large vehicle! Low beams are not the best when on a curvy country road. Most serious complaint is the dashboard reflection on to windshield---varies depending of amount of sun and direction of travel.
Rise of the Machines!
The premium plus version of this car is packed with technology. However, Audi has taken the technology to another level. It is clear that autonomous driving technology is making it's way in to today's models. There are many features that are prefixed with "assist", "adaptive", "pre-sense". They are not just marketing buzzwords but rather features that try and influence the way you drive with the goal of safety and fuel economy in mind. If you do not like this idea then this is not the car for you. Some features cannot be permanently turned off such as auto start/stop which cuts the engine under certain conditions (like at a red light) to save fuel. It is very disconcerting at first especially if you are waiting to make a turn but the engine does start in the time between you lift your foot off the brake and step on the gas. It can be temporarily disabled by pushing a button but it is re-enabled after the car is turned off and on again. You need to use OBD II to permanently circumvent this behavior but may void your warranty. In terms of comfort, riding in this car is like flying business class on a 787. It's pure luxury!

The automatic engine stop/ start function is pain
The changes since my initial review involve the automatic engine stop/start function. It now takes a couple of seconds for the system to recognize that you have taken your foot off of the brake and have placed it on the gas. The car just sits there unresponsive. The problem with this is that if you are attempting to pull into traffic you cannot rely upon the car to actually start moving. The second issue I have encountered is the “drive system failure alert. When this comes on, the car shakes and is not drivable. This is resolved by turning the car off and back on. The biggest issue is that in doing thi, it clears all the error codes and the dealership has nothing to examine. The advice is to not turn the vehicle off and bring it in… the car is not drivable in that state. A better solution would be to equip the care with some nonvolatile memory that they could review. A cheap solution that has apparently eluded Audi.

Love it so much we ordered another one!!
We ordered our 2017 Audi Q7 January 2016 and received it in April of 2016. We took it on an 8000 mile trip. The massaging, heated and cooled seats were amazing. I dont travel well due to physical issues. We added every option and package except rear side air bags and set up for rear seat entertainment. We love ours so much we ordered a new one. Fully loaded this time. We did Prestige Package. We have been very happy with the gas mileage. On our trip we had the car loaded as we spent 6 weeks on the road, we averaged 26 mpg. To me for a full size SUV it was great. I cannot find words to express how happy we are with our car.

Engine Blew at 14k Miles leaving us stranded
The car is beautiful inside and out, Car and Driver and all the other consumer reviews gave great reviews, but our prestige 3.0T engine blew at 14k miles. To add insult to injury, Audi Care refused to reimburse our $525 after hour tow bill since we didn’t use Audi Care to schedule the tow (we didn’t even know the service existed!). I mean, their customer service is the worst I’ve seen ever. I've been on the phone with Audi Care for 6+ hours, talked to numerous representatives who've all said I need to talk w/ this enigma of a supervisor named Mark (who I’ve never been able to contact in the month plus I’ve been trying to get this settled) just trying to get them to reimburse the bill when their engine left us stranded in the middle of a country road at 12:45 in the morning and my family were fearing we’d get hit by another driver. Anyway, long story short, do yourself a favor and avoid the Q7 and Audi Customer Service. In this day and age there's plenty of reliable alternatives with quality customer service.

New change of car
I have been driving the BMW 750LI, for many years, and had a Range Rover in between them. The Audi Q7 is a beautiful, well appointed, technology savvy ( smarter than the operator at time) and handles like a dream. The vehicle I used to drive was an incredible heavy, effortless drive and other than the weight of the vehicle, the drive is amazing. It’s a little different just getting used to sitting a little higher up, but I am thrilled beyond on words at my new 2108 Q7 and would highly recommend this vehicle to all my family and friends!!!!

Stunning car for a 5000lb beastie
This is a wonderful car and excellent in so many ways, family loves it. Some negatives...Drivers middle column storage area is smallish in the way of compartments for your phones and small objects, mildly irritating. The cars auto cruise control and related Audi pre sense sensors failed to detect a red pickup truck in front of me stopped at a red light and did not decelerate the SUV and I had to quickly apply the brakes scaring my wife. Sometimes the auto steering will just shut off in the middle of turn??? Trust issues at this point so I just don’t use the autopilot except for long drives. Rear hatch will not open by waving foot under sensor 8 out of 10 times. Possibly related to towing package interfering with sensor. Had this car a month. Update: At the 12 month mark...This car was damaged just at the rear right bumper and quarter panel after a driver was traveling too fast from behind and hit the car. The repairs from Audi Certified auto Center in Tysons Va were assessed at $37,700 with about $12,000 in parts. They only have 2 certified techs from Germany. The aluminum on this car can be quite expensive and requires higher labor rates to repair. Expected repair time 2 months!!!! Total loss then declared by insurance. For a minor accident? That being said...Car is so nice I bought another 2019 Q7 with luxury package. No longer own the the 2018

Love it & Hate it at same time!
2018 Q7 3.0T Premium Plus Quatro. The car is luxurious, holds the road great, and even has a nice smooth ride, SOMETIMES. If your freeways are often like the freeways in Los Angeles, be prepared to bounce like you're in a U-HAUL, and it's miserable! It's amazing that such an expensive, high-end SUV, has such a disparity with the drive. At times, it's so smooth and comfortable, and other times, it's bouncy and horrible. The head Audi technician brought me a new, identical car to the one we leased, to test drive exactly where I frequent, and it was the same! Even he was baffled and disappointed as to the "bounciness" of the drive. Just a side note, it's difficult to get into the car without your knee smashing into the dashboard if you're short. I am 5' 1" and it took me a few bruises on the knee until I got used to carefully & slowly getting into the car as to not bash myself on the lower portion of the dashboard. The cup holders are quite small and you'll need to purchase coffee mugs with a narrow bottom diameter.

So close!
This Audi 2018 Q7 SUV drives really well, much more of a driver’s car than the 17 Lexus RX350h I drive.Very quiet and the tech is really well done. I had one for a half day test drive. Front area storage is very limited. Tiny cup holders and very shallow bins. Like a lot of new cars, they use that high gloss piano black trim which shows smudges like crazy. This was the prestige trim. The ride was very good, solid as a vault, I imagine the air suspension would be awesome. Ultimately, however, the quoted lease price was about 50 % higher than a comparable 18 Lexus GX. The GX is waaay behind the Audi in tech and style but my wife feels safer being up high in the Lexus. Both stickered at about 72k and I find it hard to justify 1300 a month vs 800 for 36 months with nothing down.

I bought a new Audi 2018 -
Car rides very good and I am happy in owning the car . There are few things that stops me in giving. 5 star are some strange problems I am facing in the car like 1. The driver side door does not close properly every time I need to do a second or thrird slam to close it . 2 the lane assist works when ever it wants it most of the time off not sure if it has to do anything with temperature as I live in Minnesota it acts very strange . 3 the Audi stop and go does the stop but never starts back on it’s own ve lot of embarrassing moments in traffic . 4. No proper manual or troubleshooting steps available online . 5. My friend need a jumpstart could locate the battery terminal under the hood it’s all covered .

Clearly different than most SUVs
Great vehicle. Driving it, you won’t think it a an suv. Amazing handling, especially with four wheel steering option. Interior comfort is great. Only concerns are ventilated seats really don’t cool well, especially compared to the ones in our F150. And no auto start in an $80k vehicle. Come on!

Air ride and all wheel steering... Unbelievable!
As a 2013 A8L 4.0 owner and 2015 Q7 TDI... I didn’t expect to change to our 2018 Q7 3.0 Prestige, Bang & O, Black out Optics package, Night vision, run flat all season tires. Cold weather. We live in Idaho and drive weekly up a 90 mile canyon. Long grades and many tight turns. NOTHING COMPARES to how well this 2018 performed! I changed from comfort to dynamic and although there was a noticeable difference in hugging the turns, comfort handled amazingly well! We ended up running comfort the rest of the trip. Unbelievably quiet. Far more than my 2015 Q7. My last comment to my wife- “You are driving an A8 SUV!”

Right choice for 3rd row SUV
I've been a reliability & total cost of ownership shopper for the last 20 years gravitating toward Japanese semi-luxury brands (i.e. Lexus, Infiniti, Acura) because I believed I would get a more reliable vehicle with more included features at a lower price. After 3 different experiences where issues started to crop up at 110k miles, I decided to deviate from that belief and take a bet on the Audi Q7 as my first foray into German luxury. So far, I'm really happy I did. I referred to the Japanese equivalents as semi-luxury because there is a noticeable difference. The fit and finish of the Audi is much nicer than our MDX. The Audi was slightly more expensive and came with less safety features/technology but the driving experience and feel outweighs the additional check boxes of features that I rarely use anyway.

Eyes Wide Open
If you primarily use the Q7 for around town driving and the occasional road trip, be warned that the mileage figures on the sticker are wishful thinking at best. With roughly a 2/3 city, 1/3 highway split, our overall mileage is 14.7 mpg. We haven't even used the Sport mode yet.. If we actually drove the car like the performance vehicle Audi claims it to be, I can't imagine how low our mileage would be. We have been trying to get as much mileage as possible - we coast and glide on downhills, we accelerate slowly, we let off the gas well in advance of a stop sign or stop light, etc., etc. And the result of all that careful driving is 14.7 mpg. Our last tank of gas, mostly city driving, was 11.2 mpg. We weren't expecting to win any awards for being good environmentalists; but we thought we might get 20 to 21 mpg combined based on the sticker of 19 / 25. But we're not even in that universe and it's getting worse, not better. If we were doing it again, we'd wait on the electric Audi SUV or go with the I PACE or the Tesla X. The other matter that has us concerned is that the car is already showing performance declines in just the few months we've owned it. More lean in the corners; less responsive braking; less absorption of bumps and such in the road. The braking has always been a bit odd. Takes a while to really grab hold. And even then, if you have any significant speed or momentum, it's going to take you some serious time and distance to bring this beast to a halt.

2.0T
tl;dr crap car with crap service. The Q7 is a horrible car to own. The 2.0 feels a bit under powered in hilly areas. You can "punch it" and it's fine, but starting from a stop going up hill it's definitely not as quick as we'd like. Our issues have been with service and poor quality/reliability. A few examples from our first 12k miles: -Brakes squeaked from about 6 months / 3k miles in. Dealer said "not an issue" -At 10k, the same squeak was now a serious issue caused by a known problem with a technical bulletin, but since we "didn't ask for it within the first year" (see above), the dealer wanted $1,600 to replace pads and rotors... but cut us a "courtesy" they "only" charged $800. I'd say this was a dealer-related scam, but same issue across multiple dealers. -At 11k, we had to replace all four tires due to extreme feathering on the outside edge - despite alignment that checked out perfectly. Again, this turns out to be a known issue with the OEM Goodyear run flats but since we didn't complain in the first year, this was on us. Audi USA told us to pound sand when we raised these issues. -At 15k, failed state inspection due to gas cap seals. A small part and ultimately a minor inconvenience, but not something that should occur on a 3 year old car. All in all, Audi is an arrogant company with poor dealers and a low quality product. We'll be getting rid of this car shortly even though we've got low miles. It's not worth a company treating you like a piggy bank. Spend your money elsewhere.

Luxury SUV with great technology
Have been very happy with the car. Very quiet ride, compared to previous MDX. Google maps doesn’t have street view, but very nice to have in cockpit. It would be nice it center display could have split screen, a lot of wasted space when viewing radio.

Q7
Always drove body on frame suvs in past, but so far love the Q7. Excellent comfort and performance. Lack of storage in console and wind buffeting with windows down are two minor complaints. Updated after 3 years and 35k miles - no complaints. Performed very well in snow last winter even in 10” snow storm where I took it to the local high school parking lot and tried my best to get it stuck with no luck. It handled that amount like a champ. Took on several ski trips and it handled snow covered interstate highways equally well as it did with snow covered roads close to the resort. Overall, extremely pleased!!

I wish I could drive it more.
A truly wonderful driving environment inside and a very safe, well made vehicle. Our first Audi and we are very pleased. (Initial review) Life and pandemic restrictions have greatly reduced our opportunities to drive our Q7 as much as we would like to have driven. It still pleases me every time I get behind the wheel, even for a short trip to the grocery store! The Q7 is the finest vehicle I have ever owned. I feel fortunate to have been able to buy and drive it. (July 2021) In the past 2 weeks we've driven PHX to Las Vegas and PHX to Aspen/Snowmass and the trips have reminded my how much I enjoy driving our Q7. Four-lane, two-lane, desert or mountains we feel safer then we've ever felt in a vehicle.

A very roomy, great handling, quiet SUV.
This is a very roomy, quiet, nice handling SUV. Well built, with all the margins lining up, interior is top notch, everything you expect. My 'complaint' is that it is pretty complicated to set up. From sound, to tire pressure warnings, GPS, bluetooth, etc. There is so much and the systems/menus are not intuitive. One must study the user manual like a final exam and at 70 yrs old, that is more than I wanted. But we are working our way through it. The vehicle is a joy to drive, a different ride than our old Cayenne (which we loved) but a bit more power. A quieter ride and you don't feel the road like the Cayenne but two different philosophies are at work here. I will have a better review after a 2 month trial. UPDATE: We had to get the front brakes replaced due to a terrible brake noise, dealer covered it. Now months later it seems this was a manufacturers issue and a Class Action resulted in Audi covering the cost of replacement. It did not affect the braking, just obnoxious noise. But they also didn't explain which part caused it. After owning this a year it is still a really nice car. Fun to drive and great on 500 mile road trips. after I detailed it (clay&wax) I still endorse the fit and finish of the car. Paint and body is excellent. Interior is quality and everything still works. Very roomy, including the back. I have not towed anything with it since COVID restricted our river trips this year, still want to try it out, just because. Very good acceleration, great handling at speed. Handles the desert wind very nicely. I increased the rating to 5-Stars. I like the car.

Best of Its Class
The best driving car I have ever owned. Sleek exterior with a thoughtfully lush interior. The third row accessibility is the best on the market with no impediments to climbing in or out of the vehicle. It also affords very good headroom from front to back. It is the quietest vehicle I have ever driven. What a solid luxury SUV.

2018 Audi Q7 3.0 Premium is Junk
I have had this car for 18 months and put about 26K miles. The car drives lives a mini van and has terrible seats that are very uncomfortabtle. There is no spare tire and the tires wear very fast on this car. Expect to spend $1600+ for new tires every 20-25k miles. There is a clicking sound when pressing the accelerator that I was told was normal and it is very annoying. The MMI is not great and the shifter is very dangerous; sometimes you press the "p" park button and the car doesn't go into park. I would not recommend this car and it has terrible resale value. I went to trade in and was offered almost $30k less than what I paid for it. Piece of junk.

Cool Q7, but at a price
get a second mortgage of your house. this thing is way cool, with lots of gadgets and driver's assist...but all that comfort comes at a price. if one starts downgrading this thing to get something affordable, then you're left with just another chevy or ford with rings on the front and back.

New 2018 AUDI Q7 Computer breaks down in 100 miles
I leased a new Audi 2018 Q7 from Audi Manhattan and the computer conked off after the first 100 miles drive. We were told that there was a hardware problem. I asked for a replacement of the vehicle and they passed me on to Audi corporate. Audi Corporate said that they would resolve and call me back in a week. I had to call them today and they now passed me onto Audi Leasing company. I am still waiting for a resolution from them.

Our decision to buy the Q7 was based on multiple reviews all of which gushed over the Q7. Turns out they were all true:-)

Brakes Squeal - Don't do it
The Audi Q7 2018 or the 2017 are horribly known to have brakes squeal while in reverse. Look it up, do your research and read the forums. Audi is ignoring the issue. Too much money for this car to have insanely loud brake squeal.

Console, what console?
The Q7 had an amazing, quiet ride and great handling. I chose not to purchase the vehicle simply because of the interior design. The console and cup holders are extremely small and the dash interface is not touchscreen, which seemed to take too much attention away from the road. The large center hump in the 2nd seat row floor space was also a deterrent - making it feel like an SUV fit for 4. (The 3rd row seat would be good for a couple small children - not different from the other 3 row mid-size SUV’s we looked at.)

Good Ride with major flaws
For 80k this car has major flaws. No remote start! I get a lame excuse from the dealer that in Germany it's illegal, well I don't care, you are selling millions of Audis in US, MAKE A COMPATIBLE ONE! I feel alot of bumps in this car (the dealer lied and said it was air suspension but it was steel spring). The $5600 premium leather seats are terrible, the ventilation barely works and there are hard peices throughout the seat for the mechanical features that make it so uncomfortable! A Honda pilot is more comfortable! Or any decent car. The fuel efficiency is leaving a bigger dent in my pocket than the car itself. Twice already I had to give it into service because of a broken seat. The Bluetooth sometimes decides not to play my media and I have to disconnect and reconnect the phone. The Bose speakers are unimpressive. Bose just underwhelms. This is a car that could have been great but came with so many flaws especially with the price I paid. What would I advise? Maybe get it without the premium seats, prob more comfy. And try to get the bowers and Wilkins speaker upgrade for a better audio experience.

Good as a rental not a buy!
I waited a year into the remodel of the Q7 and was excited to own my first Audi. The excitement is over and I am ready to turn in my Q7 for something else. The space was good for a 7 seater not having the large footprint of an Escalade or Mercedes G series. The turbo 6 performs well with multiple occupants and cargo. The technology takes some getting used to, as it constantly changes bluetooth connections between phones even though the main paired phone is actively playing music. The biggest gripe has to be the amount of oil I have had to add to this car over the 2+ years of driving it. The system seems to ask for a quart of oil every 3 months or so. I am a low volume equal city/highway driver with less than 25k miles on the vehicle. The seats are extremely comfy and the ride is smooth even on rough surfaces. Coming from a BMW X6 I appreciated the additional space, but the German cars all seem to have technical issues that take away from the overall cars looks and aesthetics.

Certainly not what it is cracked up to be.
Had issues with 1) squeaky steering. Took it into Audi 7 times and NOT fixed. 2) computer system had to be changed 2 times 3) Audi extended warranty is difficult to work with. Will not cover anything w/o a legal fight. 4) tire wear is horrible. I am told that 20K miles is normal for such a heavy car in FL. 5) Audi WPB is useless. They are not a good service Dept.
I'm a happy camper.
We have owned our 2018 Audi Q7 Prestige for 9 months and nearly 12,000 miles. My wife and I could not be happier with the vehicle. We have taken two cross country trips (2000 miles; 1200 miles) and several shorter (200 - 400 miles) journeys. The car is quiet and comfortable. Reasonable visibility for a car its size. Good storage capacity with third row seats folded. No mechanical issues at all to report. We live out West and the car cruises comfortably at 75 - 85 mph with good milage for the vehicle's size making our longer trips a dream. Our only quibbles are the infant only sized third row seats and the lack of a spare tire. My wife has hit 100 mph while passing other vehicles but wasn't aware of her actual speed until I pointed it out to her! Overall, the vehicle is pricey but worth it. No regrets. Cross shopped the usual suspects (Acura MDX, BMW X5, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Lexus RX 350, and Mercedes); the new generation BMW X5 is probably an equal or better car but at a higher price for a comparably equipped vehicle.

euphoria
Takes some getting used to after using a big comfortable SUV with minimal gadgets. Computerization is fascinating. I cannot wait to get back on the road! Now 60,000miles on car and first breakshoes front and disc replacement at $2,5000 and motor mount rubber cushions replacement at about $1,500. Still runs like brand new car. I use Google AirPlay as preferred GPS. Great car!
