Worth the wait.
I have 3 BMW X5 and love these SUV's however wanted a change. The new Q5 is very attractive but limited towing capacity and with production just starting in Mexico I was hesitant to purchase. Q7 Pros:-fit & finish, driver comfort, Bose sound system & electronics. Cons:- Exterior is a little boring and boxy, rear seat comfort, 16 week delivery lead time but worth the wait!

The Best I've Ever Owned...but still some issues
Adding a wife and a teenage stepchild, I came to the realization that my Lexus IS was simply too small for my growing family. It was a tough reality as I loved my IS. But now that I have owned my 2017 Q7 for a three years, I have come to see my situation as fortunate. Through a ton of test drives, I came to the decision that I could not settle for anything but this Q7. I test drove larger luxury SUV's (Mercedes, Lexus, Ranger Rover) and there simply was no competition. I'm an "interior guy", meaning it matters about the comfort and the gadgets. And sure enough, this thing comes with EVERYTHING imaginable. Add the connection to my iPhone and you can do about anything short of cooking a meal in the car. Truly, this is luxury. Now, after nearly 7 years driving it, the little hiccups are becoming noticeable. My cruise control will not work off a cold start sometimes. I need to stop the car at a stoplight, restart it, and the glitch will go away. I get a "check engine" light periodically and paid $200 to the service crew to find out it's just a glitch. So now it comes and goes, but what if it's truly a need to check the engine? Ugh. Update: 7 years later, I traded the car in. The lights on the dash ended up being an issue and I was unwilling to spend any more money on it. GREAT car with a few issues.

Nowhere to stow the jack and run flat tires are ne
One expects a $70,000 vehicle to be outstanding and the Q7 deserves that merit except for 3 items. The engine Stop/Start feature cannot be permanently disabled like our 2015 Audi A6. I have to remember to disengage this annoying feature every time I drive this vehicle. It is infuriating. The second item is the runflat tires. Audi chose to save weight and space (like many other companies) by eliminating the spare tire. They commissioned a tire just for just this vehicle resulting in an extreme cost of $528.00 per tire! The last item is the jack. The Audi engineers could not find space for the jack anywhere in the vehicle, so it is unsecured in the rear cargo area making it a missile in the event of an accident. The rear compartment is filled with the Bose stereo system and one would be hard pressed to get a toothbrush in there. I tried under the hood and it is just as crammed.

Love-Hate
I really liked the ride, handling, and driving of the Q7, but I really disliked the electronics and positioning of the controls. The entire interior layout of the dash and console was not intuitive and difficult to use, much more complicated than other vehicles. Disappointed overall.

Sports car in SUV
I have owned BMW sedans, GMC AND Chevrolet large SUV’s including Cadillac ESCALADES and Lexus RX and GX ...the folks who give this vehicle a negative review must be driving a different vehicle....this is without a doubt the most fun motor vehicle I have ever owned .
Breaks squeal
My brakes have been squealing in reverse when it is cold for over a year and I have mentioned it to a couple of different Audi dealerships during normal service and nothing was ever done. A few months ago I started researching this issue and found the TSB‘s. I was due for an oil change and waited till my Car had 46,000 miles on it but still under warranty. I took the TSB’s with me to the dealership and ask them to check the brakes and I also brought in a video of the terrible squealing noise it makes while reversing. I too was told that the TSB only applies when the brakes are at a seven or above and mine were measured at a 6 to 7 level. If they had record of me complaining about the squeal noise previously they say they could cover it. Of, coarse I nor them have anything in writing. Total nonsense, and now they say the only way to get rid of the squeal is to replace the brakes according to the TSB. However, brakes do not need to be replaced according to them until you are at a 4 1/2 to 5 level. They estimated the brake replacement job would cost $1400. I filed a claim with Audi of America and just received word that they agree I need to have my brakes replaced. They did not offer any compensation or discount on the brakes. I would like to know more about the class action lawsuit. Does anyone have any information on how to join that? Over the last 10 years I have owned 4 Audis and was preparing to buy a new 2020 before this warranty wore out. I truly can’t believe that a loyal Audi owner would be treated this way!

SUV shopping fatigue
We looked, drove : Mercedes , Volvo, Infinity, Acura: Test drive of the Q7 SOLD us on the quality, ride, quiet, workmanship of this impressive vehicle. I was worried about being "too big" , but drives & handles super. Would strongly recommend the 6CYL engine upgrade. The ride control/performance choices provide varied and even "fun" options. The graphics option of virtual dash well worth the extra dollars...Navigation visually is outstanding with large picture in front of drivers view & adjustable via steering wheel controls. Unfortunately the ease, ability to use navigation system overly complicated, frustrating and ends up i don't use it ...I use my phone. Such a waste of technology . Did they really have a focus group trying out the system? Not overly impressed with sound system , but BOSE upgrade pricy for sure...if you can afford it ...do it! Really like the panoramic large moon roof. All in all, and because of a "year end special deal" this Q7 was clear choice over the competition.

In the shop 7 times for Sunroof/rattling issues
Poorly made, bad fit and finish in interior. Horrible rattling after only 1500 mi. God knows what this car will sound like a year from now. This car was rushed to market, not ready for primetime. If you do not mind a car that will rattle over every bump, then this is your car, But if that sort of thing bothers you?- RUN dont' buy

Run Flats??? WTF did you ruin a fantastic car??
I was considering it, and it was my top choice until I found out they only come with Run Flats. After my experience with Run Flats on a Toyota, I will NEVER AGAIN own a car on Run Flats. They ride poorly, have no milage warranty, last half as long as other tires, and are EXPENSIVE to replace. Sorry Audi, I LOVE My A5 Cabrio, but will now buy someone else's car just because of the Run Flats.

Two years in...
I have had the 3.0 premium plus for two years now- about 17k miles which have been mostly road trips of 2-8 hrs max. I love driving it on the open roads here in the southeast. Fun to drive: fast, comfortable, quiet and strong acceleration between 60-70 MPH - I call this aggressive defensive driving; like passing a couple of cars quickly to avoid a slow moving truck ahead - and it can be fun! 75-85 is a nice range for it. We travel regionally with three adult sized people and never use the third row, so space for luggage, sports equipment is fine for us. After two years have finally figured out electronics. We have not had the electrical or mechanical problems others have had, save one MMI reboot early on. I like the pre-sense basic and like the warning and lights on the mirror so I don’t know if I want HUD because it’s fun car to be engaged driving in. Cameras are good, but could be brighter. Space is limited with rear seats up, minimal storage space, annoying jack system, which we leave out most of the time - there is Audi care! Have updated maps when i am in my garage - Try going to the menu options and navigate through to the prompts to update. It may be using my phone data, but it does download without the Audi connect active. Minor brake noise and do not like limited tire replacement options. Goodyear RF 20” Tires likely won’t last more than 25k so this will be an expense. Only other issue is that i am larger and side bolsters could be a tiny bit wider. I am not cramped, but at 6-3 200lbs I liked the seats in the older models better. I do wish I ordered it with factory tow package though. Audi wants 2k for a tow package install when factory option was 550. I missed that! Overall because we have not had major issues, i absolutely love to drive this car and will be heartbroken if it starts to let me down with mechanical or electrical issues. Hopefully not, because Dealer is TUL and given past dealings doubt I would get good help.

Long way from a micro-bus
Tons of room inside, nice interior with great design and features. Downside was the ride, and the transmission, which lurched when slowing down to a stop. In comfort mode with the active suspension, I found the car to have a bit of wallow on the highway, in sport mode it was too hard on city street bumps. Did not try the automatic setting, which may have solved the issues. The standard suspension offered a little more livability, though at slow speeds I found it a touch too hard on bumps. Overall, a very nice car if you have the $ for it.

Happy with first Audi
We purchased a 2017 Q7 Premium Plus CPO from our local dealer with 34K miles. We have had it for a year and are very happy with the car. Rides great. Is quiet inside. Drives like a dream. Very agile and quick for a large car. I would buy again. Our brakes do squeak some when backing up and applying the break. Don’t let that stop you from purchasing one. You can get a great deal on a used CPO. Our sticker was $65K and we paid $35K. I e had a lot of cars in my life and this one is the best hands down!

Stylish cruiser with amazing technology
The 2017+ Audi Q7 is a great cruising car. Huge interior and reasonable fuel burn for an SUV with AWD and 300hp. Ours have everything on it including adaptive cruise and the vision dashboard. The car can basically drive itself and is no stress on long trips.

1st German Auto
Learning curve for sure, but I like it so far. Bought on 12/09/2022. All recalls taken care of and I did the usual maintenance when buying used auto. 1 issue so far. Had Radiator shutter actuator, replaced around 12/30/2022. Part's are a little on the costly side, but seem reliable. Nice to drive and very responsive control.

Over rated
To say I am disappointed is an understatement. Car has 91000 miles on it. I have owned it for 3 years. Runs pretty good. But, transmission kicks in and out of gears on the Highway. Uses oil. Have to add a quart every 1000 miles. Have done several major repairs on vehicle. Brakes,AC,radiator fan, heater core. Brakes still squeal And resale is going down the tube.

Great car
Bought a 2017 Q7 in August of 2023 with 44k miles. It now has 56k mls. I'm the second owner and they left a lot receipts in the glove box. I saw one for a thermostat and something about the fuel rail. The rest were just oil changes, etc. I've only had one issue which is once in a while the rear / surround camera doesn't work. Otherwise it's been great. Very quiet and comfortable and decent gas mileage. I replaced the run flat tires with regular ones and put fix a flat in the back. (Fingers crossed). But the car rides even better now. It's our third Audi and they've all been VERY good. March 2025 and now with 64,000 miles and doing awesome. On a long stretch thru Ohio to Vermont we got almost 28 mpg. Still very quiet and no issues. The car just does everything very good. It got VERY cold last month and found the car a little hesitant for the first few miles then did fine. It's do for the 60k mile maintenance so maybe that will help. Otherwise we love it and can recommend one.

not impressed, it looks like a tall station-wagon
Overall it's a nice car, Drivers seat is comfortable, so as second row, however the third row is more like a jump seat for 5-8 year old. AUDI is happy to a nonce about shaving over 350 pounds, well it comes with crappy third row NO leg room, and NO head room !? There's no other option then run flat tires!? which ONLY available with one of THE WORSE in the market GoodYear tires, so you'll be luck to get 18K miles on it! Road noise and handling, again - crappy GoodYear tires, no improvement on gas mileage, DO NOT be fool of that streaker 19/25 mpg, you're still getting about 16/22 mpg, and about 19 mpg in the suburbs, again it could be the GoodYear's run-flat's which are terrible, a specialty in the ice or snow conditions, do your self a favor and stay home.

Thee dollar car rapped with a beautiful red bow
This is the worst car I have driven it sounds like 20 year old car when you step on the break. Pure problem and trust me it’s always above $2000.00 to fix. This will be my first and last Audi very horrible car it should not be this expensive. My $15,000 cheap car was much nicer and gave me better years of service compare to the Q7 or should I say Q0 because that’s how much I give it out of 10. I only gave 1 because zero was not an option.

OIL CONSUMPTION LEMON!!
Bought this car 4 months ago and started noticing oil low lights. Took it in to a dealer paid $562 USD for OIL consumption test. It turns out the car needs new piston/ piston rings. A whopping cost of 18.5K before taxes!!! Feel like driving this car off of a cliff. Thats apart from other things falling apart at 85K like control bushings leak, lower link guide bushings, coolant leak etc…….. Front grill motor died. AUDI nor VW know how to design / manufacture cars. Compete waste of time. Just rent or lease these and throw it away. Not a keeper!

OMG! The 2017 Audi Q7 Is it a dream ?
The safety driving features are the best part of the Audi except the shear joy of driving it! I have over 41,000 miles on my car in less that a year and a half and you need all of the protection you can get on the road these days! Smooth, comfortable, great maneuverability! You might be making a BIG mistake if you don't try this one out yourself!

Exceptional car! LOVE it!
We based our purchase primarily on the Consumer Reports discussion of safety technology (side-view cam, auto stop, etc) . Rated #1 by far. However, the car also looks great and handles exceptionally well. The interior is true luxury with every possible amenity. It will be weeks before we read through the whole manual and get everything set the way we want! It's a little un-nerving when your smartCAR and smartPHONE are both smarter than WE are. It could use a few more "luxury" touches on the exterior - is pretty plain as is.

I would not by the 2.0T it has more interior noise. Car has been great Drove from Northern California to Arizona without any problems. There's no brake noise at all most times you hear nothing but the sound of the stereo playing as you cruise down the road. I've been very happy with my purchase of the Q7.

We love our Audi Q7. Feels very luxurious to drive. Nice pick up on a 3.0 supercharged compared to the 2.0 which has a noticeable turbo lag. Regardless, you can't go wrong on either but for pretty much the same pricing on a used Q7, I would get the 3.0 over the 2.0. The ride is smooth and the bells and whistle that comes with the premium plus and added packages makes driving enjoyable even in traffic, well almost.

Even better Q7!
Liked my 2013 Q so much, bought a 2017 to replace it. Also a Premium Plus, much is the same with the exception that this unit does have the 333 hp. Not sure at this time if the front brakes are going to frustrate me. The dealer wants over $2200 for the fronts alone and parts are hard to find.
