2019 A5 Coupe Premium
I bought the car CPO in October of last year. I can’t say enough about how impressed I am with the overall performance. It’s peppy, quiet and very comfortable. After owning a BMW 440, a Infiniti Q50, and a Mercedes E350 I am sold on the Audi brand.

2nd Time A5 Owner, 5 Times Audi Owner
This car is a great followup to the prior generation A5. I bought the Sportback after owning the prior generation Coupe. Feels like the same car. The fit, finish and performance are excellent. The dealership Sewell in Houston is phenomenal. I love the MMI navigation and controls. My only complaint is the subscription based services for the Infotainment system should be monthly not paid in 3 year blocks. Also, the entire online and app integration isn't what you'd expect at this price point. The traditional auto makers need to take a lesson from Tesla on on-line/offline access. I was charged twice for the Infotainment subscription, Audi USA was useless to resolve and ultimately AT&T issued a refund. Pretty disappointed how Audi responded to that issue. Even the dealership couldn't get them to respond.

Worthwhile Upgrade From 2014 Audi A5 Cabriolet
This is my second consecutive Audi A5 Cabriolet and I'm an enthusiastic supporter of this car. I traded out of my low mileage 2014 model entirely based on the migration of virtually all of the latest technology & safety features from the higher end Audi models to the current A4 & A5 platforms. Especially important to me was inclusion of Audi's version of cross traffic (rear) monitoring; although my 2014 had "Blind Spot Monitoring", this back-up feature was not previously available in the A5. IMO, this is an almost essential safety feature where I live because of the number of large cars & pick-up trucks which make backing out of parking spaces a nightmare. I also enjoy the convenience of the Heads Up Display and the Virtual Cockpit rendering of the main display. The optional adaptive cruise control provides semi-autonomous driving and has been of great assistance while driving in the stop and go traffic conditions which I encounter on a daily basis. The 2018 model has a more powerful engine and there has been further improvement of the suspension system. My Prestige trim level's insulated cloth top now provides better sound insulation than in the 2014 model and there has been an improvement in the way in which the top stores in the trunk (relative to storage capacity). I preferred the more classic body style of the 2014 A5, as the newly sharpened/enhanced sheet metal lines seem only to have been changed to compete with BMW & M-B. I truly dislike what has been done to the interior of the car. Compared to the "quiet" and integrated European appearance of the 2014 A5. To me, the straight across dashboard of the 2018 looks like a mid-80s GM product. Optional wood veneers shriek "plastic" and the standard shiny metal trim doesn't match the other metallic components in the cockpit. I'm not a fan of the new non-retractable separate (top center dash mounted) display screen which has become favored by European makers; note that this display is NOT a touch screen, but is controlled by a large ("MMI") knob in the center console. It is convenient, however, to be able to show different displays on this screen and the virtual cockpit, giving the driver exceptional control of information. The 2018 A5 accepts Android Auto and Apple Car Play and there is seamless integration of these programs with regards to navigation and media; unfortunately, Audi does not currently permit "Waze" or other non-media applications in Android Auto (compared with other manufacturers). My biggest disappointment is with the lack of interior space in the cabin. The glove box is now essentially useless, as Audi has moved the bulky CD & SD card player to that location from the center stack; there isn't even enough room to put the owner's manual case there (I've NEVER owned a car with that limitation). The center console storage space is VERY shallow and not completely covered by the adjustable center arm rest; a small covered cubbyhole is provided in the lower dash to the left of the driver in a location which is not easy to safely access while driving. Please note that Audi does not provide ANY ability to equip the A5 with an ash tray & lighter/receptacle, not even as a build option when ordering the car to specifications from Germany (this option is available in Europe). It seems that there was little (if any) input from actual drivers regarding these convenience features. Setting aside my complaints about the shortcomings of the interior space, I absolutely LOVE the 2018 A5. Its combination of all precise wheel drive handling in any weather/road condition, more powerful engine and outstanding/state-of-the-art technology made it a no-brainer for me to upgrade from an already superb 2014 A5 Cabriolet.

Best car I have ever driven in my life
We were replacing my wife's 2010 Lexus IS250 C. A hardtop convertible which still was plenty plush, had about 90,000 miles on it and was kept in pristine condition. She didn't want to let it go because everything she test drove was not as plush. We test drove a Porche Boxter, BMW 430i and 440i, and Mercedes C 300 Cabriolet. We almost purchased the BMW 440i Hardtop, because the 430i with its 4 cylinder had turbo lag. The 440i had plenty of power, but the interior was a bit cheap for the amount of money they wanted for the car. Finally, I convinced my wife to take a test drive in the Audi A5 cabriolet. All I can say is after the first test drive, she didn't say much to me for about 24 hours. The next day, she told me that the car was the best thing she had ever driven but didn't want to get to excited about it. Sure it was way way more plush and had more power than the 6 Cylinder that was in the Lexus, but she had some reservations about the color combinations offered by Audi. The combinations between exterior and interior are limited. BMW actually has more choices and the fabric in the 4 series is heat sensitive. Meaning the BMW seat material will not heat up to more than 80 degrees with the top down (it is the only series which has this feature). So you can have black seats and not burn your legs if you are wearing shorts. But the allure of the Audi interior and the way the car drove was what ultimately sealed the deal. The Audi interior is plush, plusher than the Mercedes and way way more quiet. The 4 cylinder turbo has 252 horses which explode, as the car just eats up bumps in the road and feels like it glides over them. The car exudes fun and has a plush ride. Car and driver as one, what a concept. The car we purchased has the 19" summer wheels with sport suspension and taking a curve with them is sheer joy. The car feels like it will not come off the pavement. It is as if it is part of the road. The Prestige model is the only trim level which allows for the latest self driving safety options/features to be installed as additional accessories. The Driver Assist Package compliments the other safety systems which come standard in the car. The Driver Assist Package also allows for the car to basically drive by itself so long as their are lines painted on the road or Hi-way. I suggest taking the A5 out on the highway so you can see for yourself how the car stays within the lines and also accelerates around corners. I can say, the driving assist features work really well. On the way home from the dealership a vehicle cut us off (we were traveling 55 MPH). Before my wife could put on the brakes, the car actually braked by itself, allowing us to easily avoid what could have been a very bad accident. The car is also loaded with other safety features which when engaged actually make the driving experience that much better. My wife commented on how the acceleration in the car was amazing. No hesitation, but the car jumps forward smoothly. The lines are fantastic and the seats are comfortable. The car also is the poster child for Technology. There is so much stuff packed into it I cannot fuuly describe it here, but I suggest again, looking on line about all the features and options, then go take one for a test drive. The technology in the Audi A5 is highly intuitive, when you first get it, you can train it to listen for your voice. Once trained (takes less than 5 minutes) you are going to have the most fun you have had in a long long time. A Just remember warning, if you to depress the gas petal, your head will snap back.

Love this car
So I'm pretty frugal. And when my 2000 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8 T finally died 17 years after I bought it brand new, I figured it was time for an upgrade. I skipped VW and went straight to the Audi dealership. The S8 was lovely, but a bit out of my price range. The A3, with that high roof, looked too much like my old Jetta. It would make a nice Pope-mobile. And then there sat the A5. The four door is nice but I wasn't going to be hauling my family around in this car. We have a Yukon XL for that. This one is just to move my butt up and down the George Washington Parkway, alone, in comfort--it had to be a Coupe. If you compare the coupe to the sportback, well there is no contest from a styling perspective. I guess if you have three kids, you may be compelled to buy the sportback, which gives you an extra seat in the middle. I have more than three kids, so I might as well have been buying a Ducati. I was a little apprehensive about the 2.0T, which powers quite a few smaller VWs in lesser forms, but this car flies: 0-60 in 5 sec. Good enough for me, who has no plans to take it to the drag strip. It's a great car. **Update after one year** I’ve had my A5 coupe for 14 months now and have had no issues. As I said above, the Audi replaced my 2000 Jetta 1.8T 5-speed manual, which I purchased new and basically traded for the scrap metal value, lol. I have driven manuals since age 16, and still prefer rowing through the gears. Living in northern VA, and working inside the beltway, however, constantly pumping a clutch in traffic is not practical. The DSG transmission offers a good compromise, but certainly takes some getting used to. In manual mode, it shifts faster than humanly possible due to one of two concentric clutches being engaged at all times. In normal mode, the automatic shifting is a little spongy, and in sport mide it tends to be a little jerky when you let off the accelerator. I typically get off the line in sport mode, then toggle to normal mode once underway (with a 1/2” flick of the shifter). I only typically use the manual mode when doing a hole-shot on I-95. Just flick the left paddle twice, and hold onto your hat (or sunglasses which often fly from the center console into the back seat). I really enjoy driving this car. It’s a little tight, but I don’t know why people are complaining about storage in a coupe. This would not suit most people as a sole vehicle. You won’t be taking trips to Home Depot or going on vacation in the A5 unless you get a roof rack and a huge cargo box (which is a possibility). I should note that you CAN fit a mountainbike in the trunk with the seats flipped down (front wheel removed, obviously). This isn’t the family truckster; it’s the car that gets daddy to and from work, takes mommy out on dates, or runs 1-3 of the kids to baseball practice. With a family of six, a minivan or SUV is a necessity. This is the other car. I’m glad I went with the coupe (sacrificing the rear center seat), which is sexy as hell. I only have two complaints: 1) The nav system is not as user-friendly as Google maps, and not as interactive as WAZE (I need to know where 5-0 is the way I drive this car). So despite that glorious nav display which allows for the ideal setup of a zoomed-in 3d map in the cluster and a zoomed-out overview in the center, I usually navigate by the iPhone in my cupholder; 2) The trunk lid, when covered with water will pop vertical upon opening and dump about 8 oz of water onto the glass, then right into the trunk, due to the insufficient channel around the opening. I can live with that.

unexpected rocket
I've had my sport back for a week. bought it as certified pre owned- got a good deal as its the end of the year, etc. I'm not sure why I was in the dealer for 5+ hours! You'd think that "old school" approach to car buying could be fixed by now. The one I opted for happened to have the "S" trim line and the "black optic package". Which, basically added a few trim pieces and a 3D B&O radio. ( I could have done without as the radio on the non-B&O is very nice for me. however this was the CPO vehicle in my price range, so I went with it) I agree with another consumer review, the car is a sports car in disguise. The Good: very responsive, sport suspension and sport mode transmission (along with other drive modes). A 4 door "sedan" with the versatility of the hatch back (which can tend to look weird but AUDI's is done very well). Lots of technology to play with. Coming from a Mazda CX5, I have a steep learning curve. I even had to call the Audi customer service because I could not figure out how to get "connected". Even with manuals and YouTube videos, I was clearly doing something wrong. Turns out a lot of the connectivity options and tech gadgets require a WiFi subscription- that is pricey. I'll stick to Apple CarPlay, as soon as I figure that out. Had the opportunity to car a road trip, 2 days into owning the car. It was a very pleasant drive, lots of room in the back for my 6 year old. He said it looked like a rocket inside. The bad: again agree with the reviewer(s). very limited storage inside. I'll likely use one of the cup holders for storage of keys and iPhone. speaking of iphone- there is a wireless charger in the console. which is probably great for some, but I think its a waste of the already limited space. and you can't turn it off. If you put your phone there to "store" it- the charger will engage and make the phone very warm/hot to the touch. I was also surprised that I could not connect wirelessly to Apple Play. The phone needs to be pulled in. No other real complaints. The car does everything very well. I didn't give the car a 5 star because of storage and WiFi annoyances.
There is a learning curve!!
This car is the best I have ever owned. The technology for both the entertainment and the driving systems is fantastic. It takes a little while to learn where all the menu items are and what they all do. But well worth the learning involved. And I get envious looks every time I drive it. I have read some reviews that adults can sit in the back seat. Maybe, just not if there is a driver in the front seat! Not even big enough for children back there. But it is MY convertible, so I don't care.

Fun car, happy with purchase.
Overall I give it 4 stars. I tend to have high expectations when it comes to cars, and its difficult to find a vehicle in today's market that checks all of the boxes. This car comes close, with some minor annoyances. Pros: Great look, gets lots of compliments with the blue exterior and black optic package. Comfortable ride, great handling/acceleration, lots of room in the back for cargo. Fit/finish. Dealer was great to work with. Cons: ZERO storage up front. I went from a large SUV to this and truly didn't realize the amount of junk I keep in my car. The one small area in the center to store things has the wireless charger, so you have to keep it clear to use this feature. The glove box won't close if you put anything larger than a pair of sunglasses in it. Summer tires come standard on any appealing wheel choice, so I'll have to get a pair of all-seasons for the winter. Why Audi offers standard AWD and doesn't offer all-seasons is beyond me. Back seat leg room is meant for small children, middle seat is useless. Some paint chipping on the hood lip with less than 1k miles. Overall happy with the car, but will probably regret the purchase once I'm a few months into the payment.

34 mpg on a 52 Horsepower engine!
Anyone who knows a bit about cars knows that the more power the engine can produce, the less fuel efficient it gets. Audi/VW has really done well with their latest EA888 gen 3.5 engine with 34 mpg and up to 40 mpg on a perfect summer day. Audi is always the most extreme weather capable vehicle that money can buy and it does it in luxurious comfort and style. No other car maker comes close to the ease of car control in snow and blizzard conditions. Subaru is probably the only other company that can do this, but I always prefer Audi (and this is my 3rd Audi). On the side note, never try to go cheap on tires especially if you live in bad weather environment. The Michelin crossclimate 2 is the real deal, it grips so well on many inches of snow like it is a dry road. You still need to be careful on braking and this is where your foot sensitivity is better than relying on ABS. The car has good practicality for the style. A lot of length in the rear booth allows me to transport bulky stuff easily. This car also comes with a real spare tire and not just a run-flats or repair kit with no spare tire. IMO, this is what all cars should come with but they don't these days. My car comes with cold climate package that has steering heating and rear seat heating. The steering heating is really comfortable and has minimal hot spot. The seats are still made of real leather unlike many other brands (BMW). Unofficial customization. If you get a Carista OBD dongle, you can customize the car's display as well as turn off the start/stop function. I never use the start/stop function so it is permanently turned off and I still get 34 mpg easily. You can also turn off/on the fake engine noise. If you do that, you'll realize the sound of engine is practically absent. Another testament to the amazing engineering of this car. My car is out of warranty so I have nothing to lose. The car currently has done 88000 miles. Now some CONs: There is no touch screen on the infotainment but it comes with real buttons. No touch screen means navigating on Carplay is very primitive. The ground clearance is very low - less than 10 mm in some areas and the long front overhang does not help. So my car has been scraped quite a few times and the plastic shield underneath has scratches and cracks... The car does not have real fog lights. This is a real pain when driving in the dark on bad weather. So I ended up installing some aftermarket lights which helps a lot.

A5 Sportback
I have had the car for over a month and love it. It rides great and with 4 driver modes you can select how you want the steering response is to be. The cooled seats are great (I live in Florida). This is actually a sports car in disguise. The reason I say this is getting in and out is a bit of chore till you figure out what is best for you. I use the steering wheel as a support to get in and our. The back seats are for kids or really small people. Otherwise they are not useable. All of the electronics are great, but some are hard to understand, especially the lane keeping system. My only point of reference is my second generation Ford Fusion. It had the same kind of lane warning: vibrating steering wheel. However, on the Ford it was on all the time and worked at all speeds. On the A5 you have to set it up and then actually turn it on but depressing button of the end of the cruise control stalk and it only works above 40 MPH. The very best feature of the car is the virtual dashboard and the HUD (heads up display). All the information I need is displayed on the drives window and can moved up or down till it is just at the correct eye level. It is worth every penny I paid. I prepaid the three year lease and intend to buy it at the end of the lease. The price stated below includes a 6.5% sales tax. I also had to select the coupe designation since there is no sport-back listed above.

The thrill is gone….
And it's still a thrill to drive and the look is still fire. So I've had Rhi Rhi now over 2 years and over 35k in miles and I haven't done anything to this car other than the required maintenance and new tires. No transmission issues, no engine problems, no overheating, no brake problems...mechanically she's sound. The paint on the vehicle is fantastic, no fading and very little chips or even minor scratches. I don’t take any extra precautions like use a car cover as she resides at my residence beneath a carport and at work she sits in the hot GA sun. No cracks or splits in the dash or fading. The seats are holding up very well. I have the light gray ones and other than a little transference of indigo from my blue jeans, which amazingly cleans up nicely, no issues. Everything that was functioning day one still is working. I have and Australian Cattle dog that rides with me occasionally and the rear seats still look new, I do use a dog hammock. The ride and performance are still great. I changed to a different tire by Continental but I actually noticed an improvement in road noise and comfort due to better tires. The OEM weren't bad. The sporback is an amazingly good looking vehicle and the hatch is a huge plus when it comes to me loading items in from places like home improvement stores. Heck I loaded a 65 gallon aquarium in the hatch area. Since I've had mine I've noticed several newer ones in the workplace parking lot. 3 by people who’ve asked me about mine. One of them works with me, he traded in year old 3 BMW for one that looks just like mine save for the black optic package. He's always been a BMW guy, but now I believe that's changed. He raves about the vehicle often. No buyer’s remorse or regrets, so much so that my dealership has tried to get me into a newer model, the S5, RS 5, and even a S7....but I'm good. My personal mechanic who works only on German vehicles specializing in VW and Audi told me this car is the sweet spot that even Audi didn't realize how good they did creating this one. I only see him for oil changes. Over $19k for a new engine. Payments still left. I’m done with Audi and or any other VE products as my 2017 had electoral issues, I traded that for the Audi. Three days before four years of ownership and the thrill was gone, gone away. I wish you current owners better fortunes. Peace.

6th Audi Best yet
This is my 2nd a5 Cpe & 6th Audi, they just keep getting better...the re-design is classy, sleek, & way better in engine performance, sound, acceleration. Love it, this could be the keeper! B & O is beyond awesome. The materials aren't quiet as high quality as earlier models (trim), & don't care for the controls for the sound system as its not as user friendly as previous models which were more straight forward. Really dislike the new cup holder location in the front, under the dash, no average height bottles here. Please put them back in the center.

Sexy styling and top performance
Keeping it short and simple. First became interested in this car because of the styling, including the LED headlamps, dynamic rear lamps and the overall look. My lease was up on my BMW 330i and was considering getting a new one. After test driving the Audi A5 Sportback Premium Plus, I was sold. All the conveniences at your fingertips. It feels like you're sitting in a cockpit, ready to take on and master any challenging obstacle course. But I digress. PROs: sport handling, clean lines, modern interior, power-folding mirrors, fingertip conveniences CONs: antiquated Apple CarPlay (non wireless), non-touchscreen display, no pleasing "Home Screen" - only a confusing display of options like Audi Connect, Sound, etc, connectivity issues, lack of front storage for daily items, cumbersome controls on the steering wheel APP CONs: does not allow location monitoring while car is in motion, lacks remote engine start, lacks pre climatization, cannot sound horn remotely or flash lights

My 13th convertible and this is the best!
I have owned Triumphs, Austin Healy’s, 3 BMW’s, a Boxster, 2 Miata’s, etc., and this is by far the most overall enjoyable convertible and car I have owned. I really liked BMW’s evolution to hardtop convertibles until I bought my Audi A5. The soft top is every bit as quiet as the hardtop convertibles, but the additional trunk space when the top is down is significant (means I can get my golf clubs in the trunk versus back seat)! The power in the A5 is quite impressive, and I have even gotten up to 38 MPG on the highway. This is a very smooth driving and accelerating car, with slightly less road feel that my 05 BMW 3 series, but comparable feel to the BMW 4 series. The technology and sound system are second to none, and I have found them very user friendly and easy to learn and use. With the wind stop in place and windows up with the top down, there is minimal wind buffeting. If too hot, the ventilated seats keep you much cooler (BMW does not have this helpful feature). And the rear seats are adequately comfortable around town for adults, but getting in and out is a challenge. This Audi A5 will likely be a long term keeper for me, for it may be the best overall car I have driven! I have now owned this car for over a year, and all of the positive comments I entered are still true about this great car. And the mileage remains an impressive overall 32 MPG. I would gladly buy this car again...but it WILL be a long term keeper for me!

Ticks all the boxes... .almost
24,500 miles on this now. Tires wore out a bit faster than I expected and I'll need to get 4 new ones soon, which will run me at least $1000. Performance is excellent for a 4cyl, particularly acceleration off the line. The car is very, very quiet on decent roads, and the interior is immaculate. It's not something you'll use to haul more than 2 people around for more than a few miles at a time, and I knew this going in. The storage room is exceptional for this size of car. Quattro system really makes you feel confident on the road. I absolutely love the look of this car both inside and out. The base safety systems that come with this car are very nice to have. Frustrations are few but I'll note them now. First, I wish they'd have made the gas tank a few gallons bigger, as I feel like range is too short if you're driving in the city. I am replacing a 2009 Acura TSX which had about a 16 gal tank, so it's a bit annoying. Apple CarPlay issues I had early on seem to have been fixed through iOS updates, and while it occasionally doesn't connect, for the most part the glitches i had early on have disappeared. I use Waze, Apple Music, and almost never the Audi MMI or nav. Basic front of cockpit storage is pretty inadequate. No sunglass storage, very little center console storage (probably for the better so I don't stash useless things). The cup holders are aligned in a way that has larger cups hitting the button stack above it, which is annoying. The virtual cockpit is fun and useful, the large on dash screen as well, and the MMI system is very user friendly.

Exciting car, enjoy your life!
Audi hit a grand slam with the 2018 A5 Cab. Super fun to drive, exterior and interior design are minimalist and logical. Crisp steering and acceleration. Exceptional storage space and backset roominess for the kids ( and even adults) to enjoy the ride. Interior materials are exceptional. The nighttime lighting configuration is beautiful. If you are buying this car you must get the upgraded Bang and Olufsen sound system and upgraded (ventilated seats). Upgraded sound is a $900 upgrade and worth every penny when you are on the highway with the top down. Upgraded seats are the most comfortable I have ever experienced. Because Audi was able to make the body extra stiff and the top is 3 layers of sound proofing, you will not lose performance due to the soft top or even feel like you are in a convertible with the top up. My only issue is the software that powers the MMI is slightly buggy. If you are considering the A5, go for the Cab. you will not regret it!

Smooth, fast, quiet and really easy on the eyes
Sorry for the sexist title, but I fell in love with the A5 Sportback, not because it was practical, but because I was in love with the looks. It's a fine automobile with many fine attributes, but let's be honest it's not the most practical of cars. What do I love other than the looks? It's quiet, loaded with cool features for both comfort and safety, has an automate lifting hatch back, great sound system, ventilated seats, and it's sexy oh so sexy. Now for what's impractical: It's sleek frame and lowered stance means it takes effort to get into and out of. You actually get a core work out each time you enter and exit the car. The suspension will feel every bump on the road. I don't even have the sport edition, and can't imagine what that would feel like - the non sport edition is plenty sporty enough for me. Beyond that it's just my standard gripe that comes with the territory of high insurance costs, average fuel economy with premium fuel, depreciation and the pending maintenance that comes with vanity. I had to do it - only time will tell if I'd do it all over again. 2 years of ownership update: I'm adding a star and really have grown to love this car even more. The fuel economy is actually pretty great considering it has a sport tuned turbo 4 cyl engine that gives you all the passing power you could ever need. I can get 35 mpg on the HWY and 25 in the city. The AWD means I can take it up to Tahoe all year long. One snowy road trip I not only enjoyed the AWD, but the heated seats and steering wheel. There's a pass through for the skis in back. Also due to the shortage of new cars and the sudden demand has meant my car after two years of ownership has actually increased in value which is hard to believe. I bought this car as a CPO vehicle from an Audi dealer - it was a service loaner and had only 6,000 miles when I purchased it. The threw in an extra year factory warranty. The cost (Premium Plus with vented seats) was $33,500 + tax and license two years ago. Can't say I've ever owned a car that has gone up in value - until now. Word to the wise: Don't buy the Audi maintenance plan - they will make you believe a $200 oil change is saving you money because they will perform 30 something checks blah blah blah. I went to a nearby Meineke and got the full synthetic oil change with tire rotation for $70 and I didn't have to leave the car for the day. The Audi package wanted extra for the tire rotation.

Audi outdid themselves on this redesign
This is my 4th A5 Cab. Obviously this is the first redesign. Wow !!! is all I can say. The car is fantastic, solid, bold, head turning, powerful enough, just a joy to get behind the wheel of. Yes the tech is overwhelming and lots to learn but I am getting it. Its a great combo of luxury and sport. I own a 2017 E Class Benz. That car cannot hold a candle to this one. Night and day in my opinion. Having a soft top gives you lots of trunk space even the top is down. I have seen a convertible that has more trunk space. Audi nailed it on this one.

A5 Fun to Drive
After seven Months no problems. The car has less road noise than my previous TLX. The body construction is solid and materials of construction are high quality. Acceleration is a excellent for the engine size, especially for passing on two lane roads. The sport suspension gives an expected firm ride. Quattro handling is great. Bang and Olufsen sound system is excellent.

Audi A5 - To Drive It Is To Love It!
Great design an incredible lines define this car. The sportback has incredible cargo capacity while still maintaining the look and feel of a midsize performance sedan. The technology took a bit to get use to, but after several days of driving it became second nature and things I didn’t necessarily value at time of purchase became highly prized - like MMI for example. Strongly recommend.

This car is business suit.
This car is outstanding. I leased a 2019 Florette Silver Metallic Audit A5 S-Line with the optic black package which includes the blacked out grille, mirror housings, flat-bottom steering while and piano black dash inlays (which I don't like very much but they're alright). The things I love the most are: 1. The looks of this car are amazing like I said, is a business suit. 2. The car drives and feel very nice. If you get the sport seats and flat bottom steering wheel like mine you're going to love the way this car feel when you are driving it. 3. This car is very practical with outstanding storage space and and a tail gate but with the looks of a coupe making it better than other basic sedans out there. 4. The audi MMI (multi media interface), virtual cockpit and controls feel nice, look nice and are easy to use, the Audi A5 is a nice place to be, you'll look for excuses to take out, to go to places in it, I even started going to the gym more often. The only thing I don't like about this car is: - Although practical with the tail gate and all it has VERY little interior storage in the front for basic items. The A5 doesn't even have a compartment for sun glasses so I have to put my sunglass case in the area under the arm rest, the problem with this is, thats where the wireless charger is taking up most of the space, other than that this car is basically perfect. 3 Years Update: 25k miles in it and 0 issues, just a lot of flat tires (these wide grippy summer tires love eating nails) Another thing that has been annoying the bejesus of out of me, is the Android Auto which tends to disconnect very often and just doesn't work well. The BT is good but doesn't connect to my phone right away (might be something in my phone settings) but I have friends with Toyotas that don't struggle as much as I do with with their android auto and BlueTooth setups. 3 years in, this car still gets looks in the street.

Best Car I've ever owned
This is my second Audi, previously had the A3 which although fun to drive, felt too small in general. I'm in love with my A5 after almost a year of ownership. The style nevers gets dull to look at. The interior quality is more than outstanding. But nothing beats how this car drives. Want it to cruise around like a luxury sedan and it will do just that. Set it up in Dynamic (sport) mode and it'll transform into a quick, solid rocket. It offers the best of everything in a car. Looks, power, build quality, comfort and efficiency. On a 12 hour road trip I averaged 5.5 L / 100KM and managed to get 880 KM of range. I love this car more than anything and if I don't keep it for a long time will definitely replace it with one just like it.

Traded for Volvo S90
It’s a pretty car but became too cramped. I became tired of the heavy and long doors getting in and out of parking spaces, and missed having an easy to use touchscreen. Also, the Google gps is cool but over time impractable. I didn’t need to see stuff so far to the left and right as laid out horizontally on the dash. Finally, the Audi dealer would not refund the maintenance plan a month after we bought it. Very inflexible dealer. I traded for the new and much larger Volvo S90 and love it. For the same cost, it has Auto pilot and a huge touch screen similar to the Tesla. It also has a huge back seat and drives like the Audi and with same gas mileage. I’m much happier with my Volvo and use the auto pilot all the time. I no longer mess with the Audi mouse and click on my touch screen directly. Also, the screen is vertical so I can see more of what’s ahead of me and not wasted space like in the Audi screen. Lastly, the Volvo has amazing headlights that turn with auto bright at night that makes night look like day.

A joy to drive and easy on the eyes
I've now had my 2019 A5 Hatchback for over a year and really love taking it on road trips when I don't have to haul the entire family. For two people and the dog in the back seat, there's plenty of space for all our stuff to get up to Lake Tahoe for the week or weekend. My dog would prefer that the window in the back seat roll all the way down, but the best I can do is about half way due to the configuration of the door is my guess. I much prefer the windows up while cruising at highway speeds because the cabin is very quiet. The standard stereo system is good to very good mainly due to the insulated cabin. It take a while to get used to the transmission and media knob in the center console, but once you do, you can then focus on driving which is a joy. The car corners and accelerates so well, you can own the road with confidence. I've recently driven the car in the snow including un-plowed conditions on hills and at low speeds the AWD performed excellent - as well as my Subaru Crostrek. One draw back in the road clearance - you wouldn't want to be caught in a foot of new snow with such a low lying car. In cold weather I really enjoyed the heated seat and steering wheel. In hot weather I have enjoyed the cooled seats - but I will say they don't get as chill as I would like. Fuel economy has been as advertised - I'll get mid 30's on the HWY, upper 20's combined. The back seats are not great for full size adults unless it's a short trip. The looks? That's what attracted me to this car. For the cost of a loaded up Camry or Accord, I was able to get a 6mo. old certified pre-owned A5 Hatchback, premium plus for about the same price. It also included a 5th year factory warranty.
Great car and fun to drive.
My last car was an A4 so I already liked the Audi brand and driving the A5 was even more fun. Plus the attention to details inside the vehicle are great. Love the virtual dash. Wish that there was more storage in the vehicle and I liked how the older Audi’s had SD card slots for music, but still very happy with my purchase.

Why did they do this??
I previously owned the 2013 version of this car, which was fantastic. I upgraded to the 2018 and have been asking myself ever since, "why did they do that?". First the good news: the acceleration is a little quicker than the 2013 and the convertible roof operates slightly faster. The new back window is very nice and top notch for a convertible. The new instrument cluster is very nice and very easy to configure. The speakerphone is much better and now very nice to use. Now the bad news: they downgraded the transmission from the super-smooth 8-speed that came with the 2013 and replaced it with a 7-speed that, while quick, is nowhere near as smooth. The GPS now uses primarily voice commands, or at least it tries to. The results would be humorous if they were not entirely frustrating. Resorting to manual entry is cumbersome as Audi, for some reason, made this much more difficult. DO NOT pay the extra for the navigation system. They also moved the cup holders much further forward so as to be nearly out of reach. And they are tucked under the dashboard slightly so that tall water bottles, for example, no longer fit. Why Audi, why? The gas tank fills very slowly and shuts off the auto-fill at most pumps. Again, this worked just fine in 2013. The roof rattles where it meets the driver side window. It took several years for the 2013 to start to do this. The 2018 took just a couple of months to start. The driver side window usually goes all the way up when you shut the door but sometime it stays open a little so you have to pull the switch to raise it all the way. The glove box has gotten even smaller. The settings for the heated/cooled seats are less intuitive. The door pockets are smaller. Why are you shrinking, Audi? You can upgrade the wheels but if you do you can only get them with summer tires. Up north here that's fun for a while but within a couple of months you will need to buy something for all four seasons. This is such an odd restriction. The false triggers from the accident avoidance system are annoying and much more frequent than you would think. Prepare to have the car suddenly slam on the brakes as you back down your driveway if there is a car crossing behind you. Finally there is the gear shifter. What were they thinking?? You push it forward to go in reverse. You pull it back to go forward. You press a small button to put it in park. This is progress? Now, after a couple of years, the car is constantly displaying warnings that I need to replace the brake pads. This in spite of the fact that it has fewer than 20k miles and the most recent service at the dealer showed that they are still like new. Overall, still a nice car but this is easily the most frustrating vehicle I have owned.

Awesome 2023 A5 Audi Sportback
The styling and performance of this Premium Plus Audi are outstanding. This low sitting sedan is a sports car in disguise and gets lots of attention wherever I go. This is my second Audi, after primarily driving BMW, MBENZ, Porsche, and Corvettes. I am very impressed with this car. I might be an Audi fan for life after owning and driving this A5 Sportback!

My Audi
I just purchased a barely used 2019 Audi A5 and love it. The color is Navarro metallic blue. It is beautiful! One of the best things is that the warranty is great. I have 4 years unlimited miles. I love the pick up of this little 4 cylinder, the looks, style, as well as the interior. So far, I haven’t found any negative points on this car.

2018 Audi A5 Hatchback Rocks
Great car. Virtual Cockpit makes viewing map guidance a breeze. Bank & Olufsen radio rocks. MMI navigation is intuitive to learn. Only took a day or two to get the hang of the system. Considered an A-4, but decided on the A5 hatchback because of the increased versatility and giant cargo space compared to the sedan. The extra cost of an A5 over an A4 is well worth it.

Love this car!!!
Was looking for another car with some power and easy access to the trunk. This car is great !! 2 displays, one in front of steering wheel the other above the A/C system. You can see map\ navigation on both. If you use Android auto or Apple carplay , the display is over the a/c, plus you can see your appointments and what music you are playing at a glance. Fabulous.
SEXY
99% of the time, the A5 Coupe is the best looking car in most parking lots. The vehicle is solid and drives amazing! You can't go wrong with Audi’s all wheel drive system either. We've ran 93 & 87 octane without any noticeable change in performance or mileage. I'll take 33mpg hwy all day! We love it!

Pleasantly Surprised!
A few years ago I moved from a Acura TL SHAWD to a VW Golf R....I decided to venture into an Audi for other reasons. You sometimes get HP crazed and a bit to concerned with 0-60 times. I was pleasantly surprised by the pick up and acceleration of this vehicle. I haven't had it but three days and I am blown away by the fit, finish, craftsmanship, materials, tech, handling....I could go on. I looked into MB and BMW as options, but the Audi's have always been a vehicle I wanted to own. The sportback is so darn alluring. At this point I'm going with fives across the board unless I notice something that would have me post otherwise. I have the Prestige model in Glacier white with the Rock Gray seats, it looks so classy.

Best value for style and tech
This is an amazing vehicle with so many positive aspects, the looks, style, technology, acceleration, handeling and comfort. Only downsides I have are smaller back seats that barely handle children and unexpectedly lower gas mileage. I can only imagine it’s gas mileage was based in a cool climate where the start stop function could be utilized. I’m in AZ where the AC is used all the time so the start/stop does not work while that’s on, therefore gas mileage is closer to high teens low 20’s if you drive very conservatively. Other than those 2 items, this is an amazing vehicle!

A nice but unexciting car
This is my second Audi A5 prestige model coupe. My last one was a 2010, and I loved the car - but it had gotten long in the tooth. The 2018 prestige coupe seems much better mechanically than the 2010, and both the engine and transmission are incredible. In addition, the car seems much quicker than the statistics Audi publishes, particularly in the sport mode. The steering is also very good for electric steering, and isn't too light and doesn't entirely lack road feel as many do. The electronics are also superb. In addition, the cabin materials are exceptional, and the fit and finish seems as perfect as a car can be. On the less than great side, the flat dash with the MMI screen stuck to it is sort of generic looking, and I don't think it is anywhere near as nicely designed as in the previous model. The appearance of the interior is nice, but that's about all it is. Also, the redesigned body appearance is, in my view, just okay. I used to like just looking at my dark metallic blue 2010 A5, and I thought it was truly beautiful; the 2018 model's appearance is less than awe inspiring, and lacks the uniqueness and character of the model it replaced. That's true of the interior design as well. Both are sort of bland, and there's nothing about them that stands out from the crowd. This is a car that is very good in all respects, but isn't exceptional or exciting in any respect. This is an update to the review above. I've now had the car a bit over a year, and my view of it really hasn't changed. It handles beautifully, is much quicker than expected, and both the interior and exterior are very nice. But I still think it lacks the beauty and character of the last model, both inside and out, and as a result is not a car I would love as opposed to like. Candidly, I'm still in the market for a car that is less generic, and has more of a unique character. This is another update. I've had the car nearly two years now, and my view of it hasn't changed. It drives very well, and the electronics are excellent. The fit, finish, and quality of the interior appointments is excellent. It is a very good car, but as I said before - it lacks the beauty, uniqueness and character of the previous model. If you are looking for something unique, and really fun to drive, this isn't the car to buy. I like it, but I don't love it as I did the last model. I'm still looking for a replacement.

Too New To Know
This is my 4th convertible. They were/are 1964 Ford 500 XL (a big boat of a car), 1976 Fiat Spyder (a real fun car), 1997 Sebring (a sedan with a top that went down) and the Audi 5A. The "car" before the Audi was a Rav4 SUV. (Also a couple of station wagons along the way between convertibles.) Stepping up in size is not a problem, stepping down is taking some getting use to. With less than one month ownership I have taken a trip from Chicago area around Lake Michigan and a second trip to Door County in WI. I am learning that a 77 year old body is not as flexible as a 35 year old one. Getting in, sitting and driving is not the problem. It is getting out after a few hours of driving. One problem is blocking the sun with the top up or down. The driver sun screen is very small. The Rav4 had a sun screen that when on the side window could be slide back to do a good job of blocking the sun from the side. The Audi does not. Most of the other "issues" with the car are due to lack of knowledge and education. Hopefully these will decrease with time. Biggest problem is finding cheap high octane gasoline for the car. Pulled into one station where regular was $2.83 and the hi test was $3.83. I did not buy there. But still paying 40 to 70 cents a gallon more. Have been told mid-grade gasoline should do an adequate job. Will try that since it is only about 20 cents more than regular.

Love my 2018 Audi A5 Sport back
The difference between the A5 Sport Back and the Audi A 4 sedan is that the trunk fits more stuff in it and that the car is much better looking. The car gets great gas mileage (city 26+ and hw 32+) and has been problem free. The car was on a 3 year lease but I liked the car so much I decided to buy it.

Best car I’ve owned
Transitioned from a fun and versatile 3.7 V6 Infiniti Q50. I was a little nervous at first switching from V6 to V4 but honestly I’m surprised, extremely satisfied with its performance almost seems faster. I love the exterior and interior, with its flashy led headlights/taillights, slick four door hatchback design, and the technology it offers that makes driving it even more awesome. The small list of things I wish they would change, which they have in the 2020 models is; touchscreen infotainment system, faster entry level engine, and factory remote start options. I love this car it’s a great buy probably better option than the 4series or C300

Well, it's now 5 years old but my Audi A5, affectionately known to me as Lucy, is alive and kicking! I love it as much as my husband's brand new Q5! 2018 A5 Sportback
Magnificent car. So fun to drive. The 2.0 is plenty powerful and great on gas. I find storage adequate but don't keep much in my car. For minor complaints it's a little tough to get in and out of, but plenty of room once you're in. Poor interior lighting at night from the dome. Wish it had a back wiper. Again, an outstanding little rocket car that's a blast to drive hard.
