2001.5 A4
I haven't had any problems with the car other than rear wheel bearings and front tie rod ends.
not so overwhelmed
I think part of the problem is that i had built this car up in my head during the 4 month period i was waiting to receive delivery of it. the 1.8t, although peppy required a chip to satisfy me. my older vr6 put a much bigger grin on my face. other than that. the car has really loosed up quite a bit. which is very disappointing for a $32,000 car with all the tricks and german engineering.

A Good Car, A Strong Car, A Good Choice
A petite car with the power of a bulldozer. It's a car to drive when you want to pass another going uphill, downhill, and, any other way you need to drive safely and quickly; To feel it grip the road on icy, waterey, snowy roads you'll immediately be thankful for selecting a car with AWD- it's an awesome feel of safety, comfort and security.
Solid, sporty, and fun to tinker with
Bought this car brand new, and now have about 33k miles. No major problems; a few burnt out headlights, the ashtray is stuck, and coffee stickiness has made the cupholder stick sometimes. Replaced the stock goodyears at 27k with sticky Yokohamas and "chipped" the ECU with Neuspeed at 24k for 30 more horsepower. Other enhancements include a K&N air filter. Got a check engine light due to busted vacuum hose, and noisy cam tensioner, but all replaced under warranty. Car is noisier now, rattles, etc. but still solid. Plan to keep for a few more years.
50k Summary
Well, it's 50k later and this car is still so fun to drive. (I highly recommend the sport package for improved handling and low-to-the-ground stance.) With routine oil changes and TLC, she has held up remarkably well. The engineering is impressive and the styling classic. Some have said reliability is an issue, but that's not what this car is about. Performance, stlying, and design inside and out - that's Audi.
