Great drive but horrendous tech

2022 Audi A4 allroad Prestige 4dr Wagon AWD w/45 TFSI (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric mild hybrid 7AM)

It’s such a shame that this car drives so well and us extremely quiet, but the entire experience is ruined with a ridiculously buggy infotainment. It takes 2-5 minutes for the system to initialize, the navigation entry is worse than first generation GPS circa 1990. Results are not in order of distance, never returns consistent results, delayed button push, and completely forget voice commands. Audi should be ashamed to put this out on the market. I’m only 3 months in and looking to trade it in.

BEST ALLAROUND

Pricey but well worth while. Car is an amazing combination of luxury, comfort and utility. It make you smile as you go down the road; however, it will NOT accept a trailer hitch even though articles say it does.

Steering rack failed

Jay, 11/12/2021

At just 51,000k the steering rack started making a ratcheting noise. Dealership replaced it out of warranty. Very very expensive repair. Customer to pay full cost is unwarranted given premature failure.

Third time is a charm

This 2022 allroad is my third allroad. I started with a 2001 A6 allroad with the V6 bi-turbo That car was the Audi from hell! It spent as much time in the shop as on the road. The air suspension gave me the most problems. Fuel milage was awful with a 16 MPG average. However when it was good it was very good. It took until 2015 before I waded back into the Audi pond and I am glad that I did. The 2 liter turbo 4 gave much better fuel milage of 27.0 MPG average for 81,000 miles. Performance was almost as good as the 2001 V6. I was perfectly happy with the car until My sales rep cornered me and showed me a new A6 allroad. We did the math and it was just more money than I wanted to commit to. So I had her run the numbers for the 2022 A4 allroad. Audi was offering a 1.99% finance package and the 2015 did have over 92,000 miles on it. If you are still with me let me tell you about the 2022. I love the infotainment center. Easy to read, and after a pretty steep learning curve, more information than you need. Great fuel milage from the start. 37 MPG on the interstate running 75 MPH. Very quick acceleration, Four damping rates for the suspension and good visibility all around. Why four stars? Due to the microchip shortage I don't have blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruse control, or foot operated opening and closing of the luggage compartment lift gate. I hope these features will become available as a plug and play once the microchips become available. Bottom line, ample cargo room, great performance, comfortable ride, and good fuel milage. Other than the mentioned microchip issues, what's not to love?

The thrill in Back!

The A4 2.0Turbo, is a stealthy wagon often overlooked in the current market of SUV's and crossovers. Fuel economy is great for a mid-size car, above average storage and sporty good looks. Positive stares and comments on a great looking automobile. Enjoy cruising for short road trips and and traveling to vineyards. The overall advantages of a Tesla fighter are evident except for no hybrid option. Audi is leading seller of stylish vehicles with great technology and safety features. We enjoy the front seat comfort, adjustable lumbar and leg bolster support. Very impressive speed from turbo, and with insulated windows low road noise. The 18" wheels are low profile but give you a more tactical than cushy ride over bumps and potholes.
