This car is seriously underrated
Just leased the 2018 TLX 2.4 with tech package. No money down sign and drive $420.00 per mos. The base engine provides great acceleration in the lower gears and not so great in the higher gears but still plenty of oomph for me. Seats are better than my previous car which was a Volvo. Handling is good but the best part about how this car rides is the tight chassis. Cabin is very quiet only if I am not blasting the ELS sound system which is fantastic. I went to Honda to lease a 2018 Accord and they wanted $550 a mos. For a Honda! I challenge anybody to find another car that will give you a luxury brand for this price and quality.

Back with Acura again
my 04 TL has 208,000 original miles still kicking. traded in 13 accord sport with 88,000 that was a great car for the money. I wanted to go back to acura even though the accord was a newer car the fit and finish of the acura was way better. the honda felt lighter and not really solid. I loved all the standard features of the A-Spec, V6 power its not a 4 cylinder turbo which is the new thing now. the solid feeling driving the car over bumps, sound of the engine exhaust , great red leather seats that feels like it will last more then 10yrs of use. excellent sound system, ambient lighting, beautiful LED lights with the yellow amber eyebrow lights, Navi system very easy to use. SH-awd around the curves or exit ramps very planted. The Cons gas mileage not very good, hate the automatic engine shut off have to this engage every time I start the car. or every time you open door while backing up for instance so i can see the curb while parking it automatically puts it in park, the ventilated seats are not super cold like the Lexus seats, There are so many things I need to read about this car. So the bottom line is I still love this car and happy to be with Acura again. So shop around and try to get a good price the AWD option is a must have even if you don't get an A-Spec model it changes the driving dynamics of the car for the good. Update 3 yrs later 68,000 miles zero problem love the V6 also no gas cap read 2019 unhappy Rdx 2.0 with electrical problems and transmission reviews so I’m a bit leery with 21 TLX I will wait for type-s V6 and wait for owners comment at edmunds.com

Don't listen to Edmunds, A-Spec package is a must!
This is my third Acura in a row. I've now had a 2013 TSX Special Edition, 2016 TLX 2.4 Tech and now this 2019 TLX A-Spec Red 2.4. While I have always been a fan of and owned many Hondas and Acuras over the years, this one is my favorite by a pretty fair margin. All of that said, the biggest improvement of this TLX over my '16 is the A-Spec package. While my '16 was a nice enough car, it was simply not exciting, or as engaging to drive. This one blends the best of both worlds that my TSX and previous TLX occupied. It has the crispness and interior cache of the TSX with the refinement and comfort of my last TLX. Where the 2.4 Tech was bland, the A-Spec package makes the car not only better looking, but more fun to drive. From the interior all of the way to the exterior enhancements, this car gets allot of compliments. And the A-Spec package runs more than skin deep. The suspension, while by no means harsh, gives a more connected feeling to the driving experience. As I had been satisfied with the 4 cylinder model, I was glad to see the A-Spec model expanded to that engine offering. While not as smooth and powerful as the V6, the 8 speed DCT does an admirable job of delivering good performance with gas mileage that not only exceeds the EPA estimates, but is quite good for this size of sedan. So, to wrap all of this up, anyone looking for an extremely well equipped, comfortable near performance sedan, this car is for you! Update: still driving and enjoying this car! The gas mileage, while not quite as good as my last TLX, is still respectable for a car this size. And performance from the 4 cylinder, while sometimes a bit underwhelming, is pretty snappy in no small part due to the nearly-superb DCT. Handling still impresses. The A-Spec suspension and PAWS makes this car a blast to push deep into corners. My lease is up in October and if I don't buy this one out, I may very well be looking at the all-new TLX. Stay tuned.

Great car, but 9-speed automatic sometimes jerky
The TLX feels well built, and is quiet. It feels very premium. It takes the bumps well, it has great visibility, easy to get into and out of, and the leather seats feel extremely nice. The infotainment system is very easy to use, and the ELS audio system is fantastic. Even though the instrument cluster and infotainment system with the large knob seems a bit dated, it is easy to use and simply not an issue - I actually like it. However, after three weeks of driving the car, I really have not gotten used to the 9-speed transmission. It feels jerky, and so far is a real disappointment. It takes away from the fun and enjoyment of what would otherwise be an awesome car. Today's modern cars should shift swiftly and decisively through the gears, and should be better, not worse than prior generation cars. Instead, this car feels like a step backward from the drivetrain smoothness point of view. Overall, the TLX is a very comfortable, really good car, but what on earth is up with the transmission!

Great car and a step up from mass produced cars
I have owned 5 Hondas two Odysseys and three Accords, I have also had two Toyota Camrys also a 2008 Nissan Frontier (which has cost a small fortune to keep on the road). I am now in possession of two Acuras a 2017 MDX and a 2019 TLX. I have almost totally gone to Japanese cars now. Right now I am liking the Acuras a lot, they are similar to my previous Hondas just more bells and whistle and better handling and interior quality. They are not perfect, but for the $$ they are worth it. I have bought my last few vehicles used the MDX was almost 2yrs when I bought it and the TLX was 14months when I bought it both lease turn ins and single owners. I absolutely love this TLX I've had it for 3 weeks and took it on a 500 mile trip last week. It did great, car was full of people and stuff and still achieved 27.9mpg on 87 octane. I love the SH AWD and love it in the MDX too. You can pull out into traffic even on wet roads and it doesn't spin the tires it just goes. I haven't driven either vehicle in the snow, but I cut my teeth in the MTNs of East TN and my ice driving in Anchorage AK, so I think with the SH AWD systems they should be fine, the TLX weight will help in winter conditions and the SH AWD will be super helpful pulling out and going up hills, only winter tires help for stopping on ice and snow. This is my commuter (which I am not actually commuting at this time, so I can't judge it for that). But my Accord was a great commuter (40 miles each way). this vehicle has more horsepower, better shocks and quieter interior so it should be great. The trip I did last week was unbelievable in that it was so easy to drive with all the safety aids, lane assist, adaptive cruise, raw horsepower and silky transmission, just effortless. Lastly if you put it in Sport or Sport+ it really perks up the throttle and transmission response so it turns it into a lively vehicle. As compared to my Camry SE V6, it stays in sport mode, and it is one of the quickest cars I have owned it does sub 6 second 0-60s all day long, this TLX does all that but with more panache and excellence. Love the car and I think Acura is on the right track with their cars and SUV hopefully it will continue. Oh lastly, why didn't I buy a brand new Accord Touring (similar price)? I don't like turbo engines I keep vehicles for too long to worry if the turbo is going to last. I prefer v8s or V6s. I'd rather have a year old V6 than a brand-new turbo 4, and I don't care which is faster I prefer naturally aspirated cars. The 3.5 V6 and the new Accord 2.0 4-cyl have similar HP and torque I believe the Accord is faster, but I again would rather have a naturally aspirated engine. Update 2/23/2023. I have now owned this car since Aug 2021. We have no issues other than recalls with either of our Acura’s. I am still loving the car but I have come to appreciate the Acura brand more, they do a great job making tight rattle free cars. Since I bought the car we moved to a rural area in TN and the roads are horrible, but this car has some of the best shocks I have ever experienced and it has been wonderful, I use sport mode a lot more here bcs of the hills and curves. I almost sold it (and its bigger sibling our 2017 MDX) this past Monday for a Lincoln Navigator, but couldn’t get past the Lincolns shaking and noise. We left the dealership in the MDX to go home and was so relieved I didn’t close the deal, then I drove my TLX and was excited I didn’t sell the car. We drove a Lincoln Navigator for years and this new model of Navigator I would consider a step down. I am so glad we kept the Acuras and I am glad they were both made before the disease outbreak, you can’t beat Honda quality prior to 2020. We are going to keep driving these cars and if Lincoln improves, we will revisit buying a new one. Money wasn’t the problem it was quality.

TLX Outstanding Value
We’ve all heard / seen commercials urging comparison to competitive products “costing thousands of dollars more” .... well the TLX AWD V-6 w the Advance package truly offers a fully loaded car for thousands less than other mid-size premium cars. (In some cases for many, many thousands less.). Coupled w advanced safety and tech features, the car provides a smooth, comfortable and very quiet ride ... almost no wind or road / tire noise. The seats are very comfortable and the Advance package offers a driver’s power seat extension feature. For a taller guy that’s a much appreciated feature. My only nicks per se are the back seat leg room is a bit tight, trunk springs could be a bit stronger and the 9-speed trans is not as silky smooth as my previous car ( Audi A6). That said, the V6 AWD provides plenty of power and confident handling. The car is tight and feels solid. At 75mph the engine / trans are only turning 1,500 rpm! And, Acura finally dumped the beak grill got a modern, attractive and premium looking grill for the car making it a great looking car. When considering the price ($43,200 after Acura rebate) advanced safety, tech features and build quality this car is an outstanding value.

I love this TLX!
It's been said before: The TLX has been greatly under-rated by a lot of the reviewers. I suspect a certain bias by them in the direction of "snob appeal" as though that was a ultimate criteria for car ownership, as opposed to high quality, dependability, and general satisfaction. I would put the Acura TLX alongside any of the cars in its type and class. This is my second Acura, after owning several Honda Accords earlier. The earlier Acura was a 3.5RL (2004), and I would say the TLX (and the TL before that) is a better choice for a whole lot of reasons. For one, the RL (now RLX) is a fine car but the new vehicle price of some $20,000 to $25,000 above a TLX does not deliver that much more value in proportion. The TLX has all the features, technology, choice of engines, etc. that anyone really needs. Feature for feature the TLX is a far greater value, overall. As a "sport sedan", it combines the best in top-of-the-line value, with ease of driving, snappy pickup on the freeway, and much more.

Text Drive at 65 plus MPH
We have been a Honda family for the past two decades. We are now on our second Acura. Leased a 2019 A-Spec V6 AWD. Great looks and comfort until you hit 65 plus. The car begins to shake. The dealer has replaced the tires and front axles. The problem still exists, you literally shake driving down the freeway. Acura calls this a 'normal characteristic" of the car. I did research and there appears to be an issue with the subframe. Acura is turning their head on the many consumers that have this issue. My advice, stay clear until they remedy the issue. I am now stuck with a hefty payment for the next 32 months. Learn from my mistake and go in a different direction there are better choices for the money.

Great Car w/ Electrical issues
I've owned this car for over two years now. I'll be honest: It is one of the best sedans I have ever owned. I have the 2.4L V-4 with the tech Package, and the car maneuvers amazingly!!! I've gotten plenty of looks driving around the car and stopped just to ask about it. But be warned... I have had nothing but issues with the proximity sensor on the front. I am not sure if it's an electrical system (battery has failed/leaked twice on me now) or if it's mechanical. Regardless, when the proximity sensor has kicked in, my brake pedal stays down and the vehicle starts to sound like it's about to turn off. This has happened multiple times and have barely missed hitting vehicles as the pedal is soft. Very dangerous!!!!! The funny thing is that I was literally 3 - 5 car lengths driving normal (no speeding) and the sensor kicks in to stop. WTH!!! Car is back at dealership as I write this review. I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but be careful. Can be very scary when it happens. I will pursue to end my lease if they are unable to fix the issue.

My 2018 Acura TLX Technology Pkg. (6 Cyl.) PAWS
On a scale 1-5, I give this car a 4.5. The vehicle overall performs remarkable well. The new exterior body is what allures you, while all of this safety and creature comforts surround you and keep hold on to your every selfish desire and at a price point that is even more impressive. The interior is an extension of you, ergonomically adept and comfortable with a few array of technological features that any respectable geek would approve of. While there was a slight hint of road noise, it has an acceptable ride, but not as smooth a ride as I would expect and the GPS system that would fair better for the driver if it was more user friendly, but overall a very smart design, well thought out and fun to drive and look at. You cannot go wrong with the car at this price range against any other car in its class. I can see myself enjoying this car for years to come and so could you.

Good balance between comfort and handling, quiet
They struck a fine balance between a comfortable ride and performance handling. Yes, the handling is not quite as sharp as a BMW or Audi S series car, but it's better than a typical Toyota/Lexus/Honda family sedan, and the ride is comfortable without feeling to "floaty". I would have liked to have seen a 3.0L Turbo engine by now, but, the naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 certainly has adequate power (0 - 60 in 5.7 seconds) and, I was happy to save a little money with the discounted price which is probably due to the car having slightly less horsepower than some competition (which costs $5K - $15K more). The cabin road noise on the TLX is excellently quiet, superior to most other "luxury" cars until you approach the $100,000 or more price point and get dual pane windows like in a premium Mercedes AMG E series. This is a car that makes me want to drive more, even if it's just to the grocery store to pickup some onions that we need for dinner. It's also a far better looking car than much of the competition - the 2018 A4 looks like an upside down bathtub with a hamburger grill stuck on the front and the 2018 Accord and Toyota Camry both look like they're trying too hard to be "different" but not in a good way. I love the V6 in "Lunar Silver" or the A-Spec in the blue with red leather seats. (Mine is the silver)

Super Handling Describes It
I love this new 2018 A-SPEC SHAWD TLX, which replaced my 2005 Acura TL. Every day, I look forward to driving it. The SHAWD feature is impressive. If you test drive both the SHAWD and the standard front wheel drive version, you will recognize the obvious difference. I am yet to find the limit of this car's handling. The appearance is striking, and it gets a lot of looks from other drivers on the road. The interior is top notch. The ride is smooth and quiet. My only complaint is that every time I start the car, I have to manually disable the annoying gas saving feature that shuts the engine off at red lights. I am getting 26 mpg average. Hats off to Acura. I am glad I waited for the mid year refresh before I made my decision to purchase.

Perfect value!
Seriously, my favorite Acura to date-and I’ve had 3 Acura TLs &1 MDX. There's so much value for the money. Apple carplay is standard, a comfy, luxurious interior, and plenty of other tech gadgets- all for under 33k! The power from the 2.4 liter engine is plentiful, especially in sport/sport plus mode. Handling is the perfect balance of comfortable and sporty when you need it to be; plus, I average around 31 mpg in mixed driving. I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a sporty, luxury sedan! It’s a shame this vehicle is so underrated-the value alone helps in beat the competition!

Love the TLX
This car is beautiful! Love the overall shape of the car and design of new front grill. It has a great engine under the hood. I have the V6 and when I want power, it provides plenty in sport mode. When I just want to cruise, I put it in econ mode and turn on the adaptive cruise control to enjoy the ride. The adaptive cruise control is probably my favorite feature - saves the accelerator to brake action in bumper to bumper traffic since it slows down based on the car in front of you. I also love the safety features. If I don't brake in time, I get a warning that flashes up on the screen, and if I still don't stop, it stops for me (accidentally tested this out - it works but wouldn't try it on purpose). The android auto is very intuitive and lets me do multiple functions at once, like listening to music and navigation. I get text messages up on the screen while I'm driving, which prevents me from even thinking about pulling out my phone. Google assistant works with android auto as well!! Some people complain about the dual screens, but I have not had an issue with them. Android auto and navigation shows up on the top screen. Music and temperature control options are on the bottom screen. It's really nice having the two screens so you can see both navigation and music details at the same time. The car also has two settings for driver seat placement - so my seat is automatically adjusted to my personal settings when I get in. (though it would be nice if the steering wheel would do the same thing - so now that's what we battle over). Overall, I love this car!! Update: I've now had this car over a year and still LOVE every bit of what I wrote initially! The only annoyance is that the shifting is weird at about 35mph. If I'm going a steady speed, it shifts up and/or down really hard like it cant decide what gear to be in, causing a jerking motion for the passengers in the car. Not sure if this is due to it being a 9 speed or something is wrong, but I've read other reviews from people that had a similar experience.

I’m done with Acura
I have been a loyal Acura customer for the past 19 years and have owned 7 cars. A few TSX and TL’s and TLX. I am having an issue with the paint on my 2019 TLX, San Marino Red. I have had spots that seem to permanently stick to the surface. The dealer has attempted to buff them out, but you can still see them under the paint. Most recently, they buffed the clear coat off several sections and had to re-paint those areas. The service manager agrees that it must be something in the paint, yet Acura Client Services is claiming that it must be hard water spots. I have another Acura RDX parked next to mine which is cleaned with the same water and cleaning supplies and there is no issue. I also never had an issue with previous cars. The rep is trying to say it’s because I had darker cars in the past and never the red. Sounds like a bunch of b.s. instead of investigating this further. I feel something was missed at the factory. I was already missing a part to hold the back folding seat in place. I could literally pick the top of the back seat up and almost pull it out. It was missing the bolt that holds up in place. How could it leave the factory like that? So I don’t have much confidence in the quality aspect of this vehicle right now. Anyway, although I stood strongly behind Acura in the past, This will be my last Acura since I am no longer going to tolerate this lack of customer service and failure to do the right thing for the customer.
Perfect combo of style, performance, and comfort
I think Acura hit the sweet spot with this TLX model. The A-Spec package in still night pearl blue is a real looker. Very fun to drive, with acceleration and performance enough to satisfy all but the most critical performance geeks. Really impressed with how well this car does on snowy/icy roads as well. Feels really solid.

A good deal of everything at a value price
Bear in mind I stepped down fr9m a 2014 Silverado to a 2019 TLX. First thing is the value price. It is now July of 2021, and i purchased a 2019 TLX 2.4l base with 24,000 miles for $25,000. No BMW Audi, or Benz was even remotely in that price range. Neither are they at new msrp. So why is that not a factor in editors reviews? Some of the cons are comical. Interior not as good as audi, infotainment not as good as BMW, looks not as good as Mercedes, etc... HELLO, Acura never intended to compete with them. Acura has always been a value luxury car. I previously owned a 2001 Integra GSR (also a value at the time), and this car is bringing back memories (more than the ilx which i didnt like). The confusing multi screen? Cmon. Ive been learning it fine after a few days. Its very quick and east to figure iut, just have to get the memory going and it will become 2nd nature.the 4 banger is great and brings back the joys of vtec. Power is higher in the rev band. Starts off normal and then wooosh. Im keeping it in sport mode and getting 30-33 mpg's. The 8 speed transmission is great and finds the right gears. Havent experimented with the paddles too much. A slew of standard STANDARD safety features are welcome and the car is quite nimble. The seats are ridiculously comfortable and the cabin fits my 6'0 240lb frame nicely. Backseat can fit adults ok, but anyone over 6 foot may be uncomfortable. Again, smaller means more value. This is more of a compact midsize comoared to others. Has some features that would significantly raise the price of a german car. And another point, a honda is going to be more reliable and cheaper to maintain than a german car. Made in the USA unlike several GM's made in Mexico. My one gripe is that I had 4 6.5" kickers and a 10" kicker comp sub. It blows away the regular sound system (didnt listen to the upgraded els system. But, I yanked that stuff out of the truck and it will be going in the TLX next. Ive always said, why get a bose, beats, or ELS when you can get better (kicker, jbl, JL, etc...) for cheaper with actual power and better sound stage. Not knocking factory upgraded systems, but ive heard numerous silverado owners rip out the bose system for better. Save your money and get aftermarket and just pay someone to install. You'll get better and probably save $1,000. Android audio is great, I plug in my phone and google maps pops right up on the big screen. In conclusion, the base model gives you a better transmission (so ive heard) than the six cylinder, over 30mpg's, a car that is still quick, and a boatload of safety and convenience features. Any which way you go, if you have the money, go get a BMW, Mercedes, Audi, or Lexus. If you want an amazing car that finishes a bit below, great reliability (as good as Lexus) and an extra $7500 in your pocket, go Acura. If anything, the Acura will "probably" out last the german turbos. And I can only imagine a BMW repair bill.

Test drive an Acura TLX
Fantastic car for the money. Moved up from a Honda Accord—and wow, what a difference. The 4 wheel steering (yes) is a lot of fun. Handling is precise and sporty. The 8-speed dual clutch transmission is smooth and sporty. And I'm getting better highway mpg than I got with my Accord! My TLX 2.4 is getting from 37 to 39 mpg on the highway at c.70 mph with the air conditioning on. Seats are very comfortable, and the ELS sound system is fantastic. Test drive an Acura TLX and you'll probably agree that it's the best car out there in this price range.

One of the Better Cars I've Had, w/ Some Problems
I needed to replace my 2012 Camry, and the new Camrys are frankly awful inside and out, so I looked around and it came down to the TLX or Accord Touring. The Touring lost out primarily due to its use of a turbocharged engine. I really don't want to mess with all the issues around turbochargers. Despite claims above, the TLX's inline (and non-turbocharged) four is plenty powerful and smooth enough for city driving and freeway commuting. The car is a pleasure to drive!!! The seats are quite comfortable for the driver and front passenger. The mileage is surprising good on the freeway, a little less so in the city. On a 90+ mile drive to the Golden Triangle, I've gotten as high as 41 MPG when the A/C was not running much. Typical "open freeway" (i.e., weekends) commutes around town are closer to 38 MPG. The negatives for the TLX are the NAV system, the departure warning system, and voice recognition. The NAV system does not reroute you for traffic congestion like Google Maps does. The NAV display is also a little hard to read from the driver's position. I can see green traffic flow but the red and orange (if that is indeed orange) are difficult. The lane/road departure is confused by construction zones or any other place the lane markings are poor, partially erased, or change suddenly (unfortunately, that's about half of Houston these days). I wound up disabling the lane departure since I wound up fighting it 2-3 times a week. The voice recognition system has problems - sometimes it can't understand simple English street names and has no clue on the many Spanish street names we have around here. Also, very disappointed that the "100 month" battery died without warning after 18 months. Do consider the TLX, but if you do also look at the Accord Touring. And Acura/Honda, please fix your NAV and voice recognition systems!

Nice riding, comfortable BUT POOR electronics
Have had 8 Acura & 2 Honda products.. This is the worst!! Electronics & Technology Suck! Totally unreliable to the point of being inoperable, dangerous and frustrating! Nav buttons unresponsive. Rear view camera stays on in forward-unsafe and distracting! Nav constantly gives message-"device is not supported". Fuel low light stays on after getting gas. Phone answe button does not engage microphone so the person calling does not hear you initially. Dealer says "cannot reproduce the problem"- I have videos! No support! No quality control! Acura outdid itself in releasing this untested piece of junk. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR!!!

2019 TLX SHAWD V6 Tech Review
This vehicle is the best TL/TLX model Acura has put out yet, I have owned several over the last 15 years. For a midsize sporty luxury sedan it has outstanding performance, reliability, exceptional standard safety with the Tech package, and exceptional value on all of that relative to other makes and models. Earlier models with the 9A transmission were abit jerky but this 2019 TLX has it right, not sure if it was just a software upgrade but they fixed the slightly jerky tranny issue from earlier years. Sport and Sport+ modes give an exceptional performance advantage that you need to spend 10s of thousands more to get from other makes/models. Go test drive for yourself you will be impressed, by not only Sport and Sport+ performance, but the AcuraWatch driver assistance safety suite on the Tech package; it is second to none, especially at the price point, that Acura offers for this vehicle. My initial quality and reliability has been excellent, and going forward I'm confident that the reliability and resale are likely to be up to the typical high standards that the Acura/Honda reputation provides.

Ancient One
If you are an Acura fan, and looking for a great sporty sedan with power and performance, the A-Spec TLX is a great car. It comes either front wheel or AWD. The A-Spec is pricey for a TLX, however it has great value. It has a 290hp 3.5 Liter VTEC6-cylinder engine, which is the same engine in the MDX. It has 4 drive modes Econ, Normal, Sport, and Sport+. You’re burning rubber in Sport+. There is a 12-way driver’s seat and a long list of safety features. It’s a beautiful automobile inside and out that turns heads. With 23 mpg combined city/highway, it’s not very good on gas. But, driving in Econ mode helps.

My fourth TLX/TL and my last
When everything works it seems to be a nice car. Acura quality control is terrible for a luxury brand. My top of the line TLX came with A-Spec badging when it wasn't an A-Spec or is it? Writing to Acura VP and Honda CEO about that got me nothing not even an answer. Now the car calls home on the AcuraLink service all on it's own. Maybe a half dozen times now. Driving down the road when the "SOS" goes off is very disturbing. Makes me wonder if the brakes failed so the car phoned home? One time the care phoned home while it was sitting in the driveway overnight. When no one in the car answered they called 911. That should be reassuring if we were incapacitated but the trooper responding to the 911 call fell on the ice while checking it out! Trying to get call logs has been over 40 days now. Acura Client Relations is the worst customer support I have ever experienced in 40 years of being a consumer. Our 2008 was nice, the 2013 we still own and is nice, the 2016 TLX was terrible but I thought by 2018 it would be better. I should have my head examined.

Vibration is awful
Car vibrates and shakes at highway speeds. Very uncomfortable to drive on the highway which is where I do most of my driving. Acura customer care is a joke- They had a regional rep come out and drive the car and say the shaking was a “characteristic of the vehicle”. Very frustrating and I plan on filing a lemon law suit against them. Car would be ok without shaking and vibration ... I have been a Honda Driver for 10 years now. I promise there will be no brand loyalty from my family moving forward.

The worst Acura
This is my fifth Acura. By far the worst ever. Not only as an Acura but as a car, in general. In more detail: handling is very good, road noise minimal. That is all the positives the negatives: the technology is archaic and extremely slow. It is head scratching how Acura or Honda allows this car to be sold. The software has locked three times in two months! It changes settings by itself and you never know whether it works because it is extremely slow in responding. AWFUL! This is supposed to be a "luxury" automobile. The transmission bugs have not all been fixed. The jerking takes place occasionally, nothing dangerous. And the worst part: it is always trembling! Yes, trembling! At any speed!! You cannot enjoy the driving experience, period. I do not now whether it is the transmission or the "four wheel steering". My 2007 and 2013 TL's were far superior as was the 2010, six cylinder TLX. Even the ELS radio is not as good as was in the 2013 Tl. My daughter just bought a top of the line MAZDA 3. Almost half the price and by far a better car. I truly do not comprehend how Acura allows this disaster to be sold. Totally regret getting this car.

Is It Worth It?
When the TLX came out in 2015, I thought it would be gone in a few years. But, now they're releasing the 2019 model year, and sales are skyrocketing. But why? Well, because for 33 grand, you can have leather seats, dual-zone A/C, an infotainment system, and 206 horsepower. And, for $6400 more, you can get an extra 84 horses, and the A-spec pack, which enhances the car even more. That's all jolly and good, but is it worth it? Do you really need to spend the extra 6400k in return for a few more horses and a package you're not sure you really need? No, you don't. All the A-spec package does is make everything look more sporty by painting it black, and adding a few stickers that say A-spec. And, in reality, you don't need the extra power either, because 206 horses under the bonnet is enough to outrun the police and their ancient Fords, do donuts in car parks, and for the daily commute to the office. Perhaps you like to shake it up a bit, in which case, the A-spec would be perfect for you. But if you're just a normal person looking for a car that's stylish yet sensible, and won't leave you looking like a yobbo, then go for the 206hp TLX. You'll like it better.

Panache and sensibility!
Purchased a 2019 4 cylinder with the A spec appointments, steel grey with red leather interior. The styling of it inside and outside is spot on. Looks modern and sleek but it retains a high level of creature comfort. The backseat is a bit claustrophobic for adults however. The 4 cylinder engine sounds like a 6 cylinder and one gets the extra gas mileage savings. The car feels and looks like an expensive exotic sportscar without the dead broke price tag. Acura has done an exceptional job of designing a car that is relevant for its time. No longer does one feel it’s just a re-badged Honda. It’s taken them several redesigns over the yrs to reinvigorate the brand.

Wiring harness problems
I bought a 2018 Acura TLX Advance AWD and after 2000 miles it has a wiring harness problem. Been in shop over a month, so now qualifies under the “Lemon Law”. I’m a long-term loyal Honda/Acura owner, so this is a big concern for me. It appears the quality of Acura has gone down over the years, in my opinion. I also do not like the idol stop feature. I turn it off every time I start the engine. That feature is worthless in my opinion.

Acura still awesome
We moved on from the TSX to the 2018 TLX. We loved it the TSX and I love the TLX. I love the Acura. The Tech package is well worth the extra money. It puts the car at a different level. The car has decent pickup for a 4 cylinder and is fun to drive. It surely can seat 4 comfortably. It’s a perfect commuter car. It’s also a very cool looking car. So far, I like it lots. I hope it performs long term like out TSX did. I see no reason it won’t. It’s an Acura. Update: It’s been a year since we bought the Acura. It has about 17k on it now. It’s still a great car. We are very happy we bought an Acura TLX. No problems thus far. This makes us very happy.

Little bit of a let down
Had a 2016 touring accord coupe. My Accord rides better. My hood on my TLX flexing on the freeway. I live in Montana and the speed limit is 80. When I drive it the steering vibration and the front hood flexing and fluttering. Iv got to call Acura. Can't deal with this. Its got 2500 on it now. Closest dealer is 400 miles from Bozeman Montana.

Underwhelmed but it’s what I got
Coming from a BMW.. I’m disappointed with the handling, gas mileage, and performance. It’s a nice looking comfortable car with better than average amenities. The car is bulkier than I had anticipated. I would likely not purchase this car again. However, for the right driver it’s a great car!

She mine.....
Love this vehicle. And for the price it makes me even more happy to have a luxury performance vehicle that has the Honda quality. And, not cost me my first born to get repairs if ever needed (which is unlikely).

My favorite car out of 13 that i've owned!
Get the A-Spec! I've owned 13 cars in my life, I'm a car enthusiast and a Realtor, so I was looking for something thats fun to drive at all speeds, economical (as much as possible) respectable and presentable to all of my clients without being too flashy. At first, I wasn't too excited but the dealership gave me a great deal. Now, I go to bed thinking about waking up and starting it, and love driving it all day. The handling is great, the turn-in angle and steering feel is really impressive for the size and the fact that it's an Acura. This car has everything that I was planning on doing to my 2004 IS300. It has an impressive sound system, blown insulation in the interior so sound quality inside is fantastic. The A-Spec styling is perfect. It's nice, quiet and sturdy when cruising around. And it has a growl when you punch it that never get's old. It's fast enough for my needs, I haven't lost a stoplight race or entry to the onramp yet. (In my 2015 Genesis 3.8 Sedan I was used to ties with common cars like the Sonata). Of course, I doubt it can beat cars like the R/T trim level Dodge, but I enjoy cars that I can wrap out vs overpowered under-styled cars that will rarely be maxed. The rear seat is big enough for me to fit, I'm 5"11, if I were one inch taller my head would hit the window. The only complaint so far is that the transmission cant make up its mind around 40mph with steady throttle. and it sometimes vibrates around that speed. In summary, great car, good gas mileage while being sporty. Fun to drive slow and fast, corners surprisingly well. Sturdy and good feel. Very good looking car. Every-time I drive it, I like it more and more. Also, my girlfriend was nervous that I'd get a lot of attention driving it because, in her words, it makes me more attractive. That's a first.

Awesome TLX A Spec
I've had this car since 9/2019 and it is quiet, sharp looking, and fun to drive. No issues just normal maintenance. This is my 2nd tlx, other was not an a spec, but loved it. Had it for 5 yrs with alittle over 100k miles with no issues. Looking at getting new vehicle maybe this year. Can't do wrong with this Acura.

Great car
This car is extremely comfortable and quiet. It took me three weeks, however, I think I've got a handle on all of the tech gadgets. Car is loaded with technology and safety features. I got, probably, the best deal I've ever gotten purchasing a new car. Acura's gotten a pretty bad rep in recent years, but I have to say, "this is the nicest automobile I have ever owned."

Red TLX w/parchment leather TECH
My 3rd Acura in a row. I'm a believer. The TLX is an unbeatable value in the midsize luxury market. Feature filled, comfortable, sporty.....a head-turner. I really appreciate all the standard safety features. The TECH package is easy to use and understand and includes an amazing sound system. Hard to believe I have so much car and still get over 30mpg. Check it out. UPDATE: I've had my TLX over a year now and can't say a negative. I smile driving it every day. Stylish, quiet, fuel efficient, and safety tech too.

Superior technology versus the competition. Much lower price than German cars (That have always given me problems). Not as boring looking as the Lexus!!!

TLX review
My TLX is awesome. Not too many on the road, so my car is very unique and stands out where ever I go. I’m still trying to figure out everything this car has to offer, but so far I’m satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this car to anyone looking for a luxury vehicle.

2018 Acura TLX w/ tech much better than 2015 model
The acceleration is much peppier than 2015 model, which I previously had. The shifting is extremely smooth without any hesitancy. Very quiet interior. Adaptive cruise control is a great first step towards self driving, as it has lane assist. You are able to take your hands off the wheel, and the car will stay in lane. It is not perfect though, and I wouldn't suggest totally ignoring the drive. It would blow through the lane, especially on hard curves.

4th time lessee
Acura seems to have fallen behind with technology on the 2018 TLX. They changed the grille which looks nice. But safety features have not been upgraded since the 2015 model. Also, the display on the audio system provides even less info that the 2015 model. They have also done away with the ability to choose economy or other modes of driving.

Worst car I ever owned
This car is not worth the money. It is very hard to get in and out. I used to own the Accura TL's and they were a great car. This car is nothing like that. The ride is very hard. There is no give to the seat, tires, or suspension. It is painful to go over bumps and my back hurt constantly. I traded it in after owning for 4 months. The heat blasted out hot air on your foot so you had to turn the heat off. The radio is poor for what they claim is an upscale car. Only one speaker in the center. Save your money and buy another car.

Research, Research, Research before you BUY!
Ok so I decided to right this review, I'm not really savy or knowledgeable on vehicle I guess you can say most women aren't. I was given this vehicle as a loner (only 500 miles on it) while the dealer was replacing my airbags in my 2015 ILX, I feel in love with the space & sporty look, but noticed if you have to make a sudden stop it feels as if the shell of the car was going to fly off and you still will hit whatever you were trying to avoid, very difficult pairing your bluetooth had to take to dealer, not to mention 2yrs having this vehicle in 5/2018 while sitting at stop light in "drive" the vehicle decides it wants to go into "N" (neutral) and sometimes in "P" (park) which is scary (because I could easily be rear ended) considering I'm totally unaware until I attempt to take off. I took it to the dealer (which their fixing for FREE) but was told by the service advisor that the mechanic said, "that maybe I spilled something in the gears, which in NOT true, they want to blame it on someone other than Acura. I also forgot to mention the "voice recognition" is HORRIBLE, and the carpet edging inside the entire vehicle was very cheaply done. Thank god I'm leasing not really sure if I want to purchase at the end of my lease.

Not as good as it pretends
2018 TLX SH-AWD A-Spec with Tech Pack. Awesome car performance! Nice technology. Terrible quality. Paint is very fragile, chips and scratches very easily. Painted brake calipers look like cheetahs, paint chipping on beautiful mags, 3.5L engine makes valve noise - which my 2005 MDX does NOT. Bumper cover is made of very soft plastic which is easily damaged by road minute hazards. All this after only 26 months and 18,000 miles. I wrote to Acura CS and they did not even respond. This car is heading straight to a dealership for a trade. If you really crave a TLX, go for a lease, don’t buy.

Still an Excellent vehicle
Purchased the top of the line AWD version. Living in the Great White North makes it great to have the AWD. Excellent traction and self correcting ability when traction is momentarily lost. Comfortable to drive on long trips and fuel economy is better than advertised. On three hour trips through the Rocky Mountains we get right around 7.0 liters/100km (32.5 mpUSg) with the V6. Winter mileage drops to around 9.0 liters/100km in the city. Vented seats are okay, but a/c seats would be better. Overall, we will buy another one in the future. Up to 58,000 miles now, and still running great. No issues whatsoever.

2018 Acura TLX 2.4L 8-DCT Tech Pkg
Bought this car 2 weeks ago with <32K on it CPO. It surpasses our 2012 TSX 2.4L Tech Pkg, which was a really good car, in every important respect--power delivery, ride, composure, steering, noise. It is comparably quiet to our 2014 Lexus GX460 Luxury. Even though the engine has only 5 more hp than the TSX, it feels much quicker and more responsive and less taxed at higher revs. The 8-speed double clutch is responsible for most of that. The ride is settled and compliant but sure-footed. The car turns in nicely and stays flat and planted in normal driving, even more spirited normal driving than most people probably do. Foot room in the back is much improved over the TSX (which was smaller), and adults can be comfortable in back, but this is not the class of car you buy if back seat room is a major priority. I'm coming out of an S2000 and I love this car more than I thought I would--though I knew I would like it a lot. Throw in all the tech and the fantastic sound system and you have a hell of a package. Feels solid and well-built the way an Acura should. Update 10 Nov 2021: Still loving the TLX. No issues. Will probably test-drive the Integra when it comes out, just to row through the 6-speed if nothing else, but I would have to seriously fall in love to consider trading this in.

TLX is the perfect sedan
My wife and I both love the car. Just wish it had a sift lever and not push buttons for the tranny. Have the V6 and easily get 36 mpg on the highway have hit 40 mpg a couple times if I don’t push it. 25-28 around town and have the quiet power when I need it!!!! Great car and great value.
