Used 2019 Acura RDX SH-AWD 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 10A) Consumer Reviews
This is the fourth RDX I have leased.
The 2019 model is an improvement over the previous models in terms of handling and comfort. The entertainment and information system is not user friendly. I have had the car for three months and I am just getting accustomed to the system but it still has drawbacks , especially trying to use it while driving. My frustration with the electronics have almost overshadowed the fact that this is a very good vehicle in all other respects. My wife just leased a new Subaru, and the information system is much friendlier. Additionally the local Subaru dealers offer a trainer who will reach out to help you with the vehicle. The RDX is a better fit for my driving, but the Acura dealers can't match the local Subaru dealers in customer support

Electronics & Tech NOT user Friendly
The technology is unnecessarily complicated. There is a touch pad that is used to access the electronic options like your desktop. Interesting idea but it is like operating your computer while driving - DANGEROUS ! I like technology - so I am a good judge of ease of use and usefulness. Listening to the radio is like booting up your computer then going through the system interface before getting to pandora. AND the display is NOT a touchpad. Too many steps to listing. There is no direct access to any function - Bluetooth, radio or aux or car system adjustments. And for over $40,000 I could not get blind side warning. You have to buy the next teck package up. As for the transmission, it is noisy in the first four gears. It is really noisy. My wife thought there was a problem and asked me to take it to the dealer to get checked. Unless you must have an Acura go buy something else. I rushed and did not take enough time with this RDX before my purchase. I would not have made the purchase if I had and I told the dealer such. This is a new model year - my guess is there will be changed before the 2020 models arrive. As for the gas mileage - TERRIBLE we got max 21.6 miles per gallon on the highway after a 1200 trip.

I wish i never bought this car
I got problems with this car from the very beginning. 1. Very poor MPG -13.5 in NYC. 2. Rougb shifts between 0-25 mph. 3. Radar gets blocked constantly during rain or light snow. 4. Very noise brakes. 5. Awful infotainment issues. 6. Turbo hesitates more often then not. 7. Steering wheel does not come back to the center after left turn. 8. Backup camera gets blocked and become useless during light rain. 9. Practically no lumbar support. 10. Panoramic roof glass gets condensation every time outside temp drops to 22F or below.

Acura is using toxic interior materials
I leased the car and noticed strange synthetic smell. The fumes simply made me sick. Acura stopped using leather in their entry level models and started using artificial leather - a variation of leatherette. This materials evaporates harsh chemical fumes. I contacted Acura client relationship (case number 08920583). They spoke to me several times, requested a lot of information, even my medical records to prove that I did not have preconditions. When I provided everything they asked, they still told me that they were not going to help me at all. The case manager actually admitted that a small percentage of the population does get sick from this material. Even if most of the people are not severely sick, the chemical fumes cannot be good for anyone. I do not want my child in this car. Acura is still using real letter in their higher end models. They just reduced the cost of manufacturing of their entry level cars. As Acura gave me the runaround and refused to help, I must replace the car with a huge loss. I just went to a Honda dealership. Honda and Acura is the same company. The salesperson told me that indeed the synthetic smell in my car was caused by Acura leatherette and they know that this smell is unpleasant at best. Of course, Acura puts no warning that they replaced leather with artificial materials, which may be harmful for some people.
