2007 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan Wolfsburg Edition PZEV 4dr Sedan (2.5L 5cyl 6A)
Just bought my first VW Jetta. Overall I like the car. Of course my daughter lost one keyfob at school almost immediately. Extremely frustrating that VW dealers charge $250 for another key including programming. That's completely insane and no other locksmith or reliable service is able to provide at a lower cost. VW SHAME ON YOU!!!! This alone makes me not want to be loyal to VW and not feel good about talking about VW. I will not buy VW again.

I bought my Jetta Brand New of the lot.
Everything on this car is decent to good but not stellar. It's a nice, sporty vehicle, great sound system, handles well and I loved it while I leased it.
But even during that time frame there were recalls on the vehicle for small things like Light adjustments. Another recall was for the sunroof but they charge you $150 to fix it. Third recall was for fixing the wiper blades which threaten to cut the fuel line.
The spedometer is off and the clock runs fast. But be warned: If the EPC light comes on you won't have any idea WHAT it is! Recently just spent $400 to repair the speed sensor. As with any foreign car: Expect expensive parts and limited service.
Brakes can stop on a dime, control is perfect, easy turning, nice safety features, good stereos, sunroof is fun, comfortable seats, lots of leg room, amazing amount of storage with flip-down back seats, love the fact you
can chose to flip down either 2/3rds or 1/3rd of the seat and still carry 3-4 people, trunk is very spacious.
Gas mileage could use some work only gets about 22-24/gal. Too many minor recalls and not free to fix! Parts are expensive due to being a "foreign" car even though it's made in Mexico. Service is limited, either have to go 20 miles to an auto service for german/foreign cars or to the dealership and pay lots more. EPC light can come on without a fix. Maintenance is costly. oil change is costly since it requires synthetic oil. Long term cost is high for what you DON'T save off the lot. Also Dealership service charges for loaner cars, so make sure you have a ride!

I bought it in 2010 as a certified used car with 40K miles on it, and I need to say it is a blast to drive it everyday, I drove many cars before from Olds to Ford, Toyota and Chrysler but none kept me interested in keeping the car longer then 2 years.
But this one is the best in quality fabrication, interior space quality and ride pleasure.
I averaged about 30MPG before I changed my tires and had an allingment done now with the new ecopias it is even better new avg is 33-34 MPG and the cabin is so quiet. Also after 35k miles driven now no problems not even the rear breaks, but the dealer told me I would need to replace them after about 40K miles.
I LOVE THE JETTA.
The Automatic/ manual transmission.
the wiper system is great. You have it on and you come to a halt a the red light and the wipers are going on interval mode then back to normal when you drive off again.(Never seen that with any other brand.
The trunk space and bag holder and the small space on the side(I keep my empty recycle bags in there when not in use).
the gas mileage is good to great.
the 10 speakers in the car are great in sound.
All the windows have a 1 touch button up or down.
But the best is in the hot weather days here in Texas, insert your key in the door and turn it to the left and hold it for about 5 sec. and all windows opens same and it closes them to the right.Clever
keep it up with those small clever ideas and you will stay ahead of the competition.
If you buy a Jetta or a VW in general look at the small details like the unti pinch window never heard about it try it out open the window put your hand in the window place and close the window after it feels resistance it will drop about 5 inches and stop. Child safety is great.
Also the cooled glove compartment is great.
Yes the ipod could be somewhere else but it is ok.

Just turned 75K miles; a GREAT car for the past 5 yrs.
It's economical (23-31mpg), sufficiently fast, rides better on the highway than cars costing much more, big trunk, and top safety ratings.
It's a pleasure to drive every day, and it's just a base model car with the 150 HP engine.
I had the rear brake problem, but my dealer put new rotors on under warranty and everything seems to be OK.
I've put little else into the car - I do much of the routine maintenance myself, and without the dealer labor, the upkeep is reasonable.
I enjoy the little luxuries on the base car, like soft touch plastics, lighted switches, climate control, 1 touch windows, etc.
A great deal and reliable, too.
Road feel and handling.
This is my fourth new VW and I keep buying them because nothing else in this price range drives quite like a VW.
The car feels as solid and secure at 80-100 MPH as most cars do at 60.
There is sufficient power in the 5cyl for any driving, and will cruise at the elevated speeds already mentioned - all day.
Twice I've cruised at triple digits and my wife, reading a book, never noticed the speed.
Why aren't the seats made with the same foam padding as the German cars use?
The Golf/Rabbit of the same year had much more comfortable seats, and they were theoretically the same.

I have owned my Jetta for almost 4 years now. I have almost 70,000 miles, and
have had very few problems. My gas milage averages 23 city and 31 hwy. Car is fast, handles well, and is SUPER comfortable. The trunk is very large, I can fit a bike with the seats down.
Down Side: maintenance is expensive at least 500.00 every 5,000 miles. I have had a problem with my brakes, which was not discovered in the scheduled maintenance and cost over 600.00 with the extended warranty. My air/vent dial currently does not work and air only blow on high. Who knows how much that will cost. The ipod jack should be in the arm rest and not the glove box. Next car will be a Jetta Wagon TDI, or Audi A4 wagon.
heated seats, blue/purple interior lights, very large trunk, rear seats fold down, ipod jack
