....and that warranty on the Saab is the most likely to be needed. ;)
Of the three the Saab would have the longest warranty at this point, and its a lot of fun to drive.
I own a O6 tsx with 6MT and nav. The only difference with it and the 07 is the tpms on the 07. I bought my tsx new 11/06. It now has almost 120,000 problem free miles. Excellent car
Ive been looking for a new car for a few months and I have narrowed my search down to these three cars. I was wondering if people on the forums had any opinions about which one I should choose. Any input would be appreciated.
I've known several people who had leases end recently and were in the same situation. The lease-end purchase price in the original contract was higher than the current market value on their cars. At least two of them asked for my advice because they wanted to buy their car if they could get the price down to current market value. In both situations, I had little trouble getting the leasing company ... Read More

I am looking to buy a Saab convertible and am aiming for the sweet spot between buying used to get depreciated pricing but still wanting to get a CPO. A local Boston dealer is offering a 2007 Saab 9-3 Aero convertible for $21,000. Any thoughts?
Not a bad price, but strongly consider a "pre-owned" car as well! I had a 2007 9-3 Aero (6cyl 2.3) that I leased as new, and after turn in I moved on to a 2008 9-3 Turbo X. The TX I bought was a trade in vehicle with 11k miles that I paid $25.900 for in April 2009 (car originally titled in September 2008) .. it was a $46,000 car being ... Read More
Hi out there. I'm new to the Saab boards, but are seriously considering a used 9-3 Sportcombi 2.0 - 2007 or newer with less than 30K miles. What seems rather attractive is the 4 year/50K warranty. I previously owned a turbocharged car ( years ago, not a Saab ) in which the turbo itself had very limited life. The old turbocharger bearings were not water cooled, and the turbo I had ... Read More

After bringing the car home from Austin it has 34,800 miles. I like it; it gobbles highwy miles with ease. At 65MPH rpm is barely over 2000. I did not measure exact gas mileage but it had to be 30 or better with average spped close to 80MPH. My wife noticed it remided her of volkswagen she drove long time ago. Now let's hope it will hold up mechanically.

All, a little advice please. i've located a 2007 Saab 9-3 Convertible Anniversay Edition, CPO and only 3250 miles. dealer dropped the lot price a grand to $23,925. dealer will not budge on the price stating they just dropped the price $1000.00 on the lot. is this a good deal paying the asking of $23,925 or do you think the dealer has more room....plus, wife loves the car...
They're plentiful because a lot of them were leased and are now coming off of 2 and 3 yr leases. I wish I had the need for a new car- a used Saab would definitely show up on my short list. blp1 - I would say that the price is a bit high for that car. If you look around, you can find a 2007-2008 with lower miles for the same price. I came across more than a few 2007-2008 models with anywhere from 8,000 miles to 20,000 miles for $18-$20k. Hmm.. I would offer $17,500, then "bump" up to $18,000, and walk away once the negotiations circle around to $18,500. Beyond that, it's not that great of a deal. Sorry for the confusion - -let me try again. Did you purchase your Saab from 1) the dealer who searched for and found the car you wanted, or 2) the dealer who originally had the car before it was trailered? If #1, then who bought the car from the dealer who originally held it? Hope this makes sense. Thanks.
I bought my car from a non-local dealer who found the car after doing a national search. There was an extra $250.00 expense to have the car trailered to them. I drove 2 hrs to sign the papers and pickup the car. My local Saab dealer was not interested in searching for the car I wanted. I guess they wanted to sell what was on their lot.
Did you purchase your Saab from your local dealer (who did the national search), or from the dealer who had the car you wanted? If it was from your local dealer, was there some extra expense since your dealer served as a "middle man"? I'm asking because I may soon be in a similar situation with a Saab I want sitting across the country. Thanks.
I signed my contract to purchase the vehicle on 2/15/08 showing the $15,000 off. I'm getting a home equity loan through my credit union. That takes 2 - 3 weeks. The 08 looks nice. There is also rumor that Saab is developing a super high performance 93 V6, 320+hp, XWD called Black Turbo to directly competes with BMW M-series and Mercedes AMG. With all their marketing effort that Saab are born from Jets, a Black Turbo (Viggen) project is a strong step toward that direction. http://www.trollhattansaab.net/archives/2007/06/black_turbo_sni.html
sorry, I was asking gbv concerning the 2007 Aero SportCombi (6sp M) he mentioned, but please --sure, your impressions of the '08 to be released in August? My own impression is that it's a good step forward (in terms of overall quality) and for Saab, experiencing declining sales, it must succeed in the market. I'm wondering what one would comparison shop it against? I'm considering the new Pontiac G8 because I'm ... Read More

In a couple of posts I mentioned a poor experience I was having with trying to get a new SportCombi. I thought I would outline the experience here and ask for any suggestions....I am hoping that my experience is an anomaly and not the norm. First of all, I live in Toronto Canada. My local dealer is owned by a larger corporation who owns multiple dealerships including the other closest Saab ... Read More

Welcome k9prof. Even though it is your first time leasing, you are off to a good start. You were smart to find out the selling price of the car that you want. The price that you were quoted looks good to me. I have a 2005 Arc with the 2T turbo engine that I bought new. Saab dropped the Arc name in 2006, but I think you can still get the Arc features and options today. To date, the car has not given me any problems with the exception of the battery dying at 1.5 years, but Saab doesn't make the battery. It looks like Saab worked out the reliability issues they had ... Read More

I'm about to close tomorrow on a 27 month/15K per year lease on a 2007 Saab 9-3. It is a dealer demo car with 5130 miles on it. The dealer is quoting 4.35% Interest Rate and 68% Residual. Is that correct, or is he tacking an extra point on the interest rate? MSRP: $30495 Cap Cost: $28067 Tax, Acquisition fee, and registrations fees paid up front. Bottom line - the dealer ... Read More
