2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C230 Kompressor Rwd 4dr Sport Sedan (1.8L 4cyl S/C 6M) C230 Kompressor Rwd 4dr Sport Sedan (1.8L 4cyl S/C 6M)
Bought this car used for 13.5K in 2010 with 60K miles. Surprisingly at this price point in 2010 other cars of different brands did not come equipped with side airbags (Chevy, Ford, etc.) excluding BMW which was more expensive and Asian cars which I wouldnt touch for fear of build quality. Even though this car is the entry level model of Mercedes build quality is unreal. When you shut the doors you feel like you are in a concert hall. Very good audio, hardly any rattles, incredibly solid and heavy door feel and overall what you expect from true German engineering. Next comes the drive.. Oh My Gosh. The supercharger kicks in at very low RPMs and the steering is tight and precise.
Incredibly smooth ride due to long wheelbase. Accurate and smooth transmission. Steering wheel controls. Safe feeling while driving.
If you purchase this car BE PREPARED to spend 1000's at the Benz dealership or take the time consuming but far less expensive route of home maintentance. Owning this car for 40,000 miles I have had to replace the alternator, and change all the fluids routinely as well as constant brake wear maintenance. Just yesterday the tensioner pulley broke which is common at 90K-100K miles which is sad but I still love this car. After 4 hours and 200 dollars the car will be good as new and will run strongly for another 10,000 miles until some other finicky thing breaks. Oh well like I said the more repairs the more I love this car. :)

I've had this car for about 3 mo's and bought it used with 78k and so far it's been a decent car. My gripe is mainly the lil buggy issues. 1. Driver side front parking lamp went out, now it's working again. 2. Instrument cluster stopped working however the center digital center gauge is working fine and the dash lights still work. In other words, all the needles are at 0. It's an excellend drive and it's pretty quiet on the road/freeway but Mercedes is suppose to be a well made automobile, but with little annoying things like this coming up it could potentially make the driver not want to purchase this brand of car again. Ps: This car has automatic trans.
handling, suspension, rear shade, smooth ride.

Had car since it was new. 2005 Mercedes C-230 Kompressor. Don't get me wrong the car is beautiful and is a jet when it comes to ride and handling but thats not what we use it for. The car is a daily to work and back car and every now and then a road trip maybe one state over. it seems like every week there is some expensive service that needs to be done on it. The car eats tires due to a poor suspension geometry, and you have to change the brakes every 20k miles it seems like. The car leaks oil and constantly showing error messages. I pride myself at maintaining my cars but I cant seem to stay on top with this one. Getting rid of it as soon as possible. 90k on it now.
Suspension issues. Give me a engine oil dipstick so I can check it!
We loved our C230 2005 Kompressor, decent all around car. slightly expensive to maintain, but thats not unreasonable for this type of car I write this review today for 1 reason, i flipped the car 2 x and took out a light pole on the freeway @ 60 in the rain both my lovely wife and i walked away with some very minor bruising and sore muscles, the car is totaled, all 10 air bags burst and i believe this saved us from a lot of trauma. I rate this car an 10+ for safety, if you saw it after the wreck you would have been amazed, a lesser car would not have done so well, writing this at home 24 hrs after the crash is amazing best to all
i survived , and decent gas, and everybody is impressed it's a mercedes
I've owned 10 cars and this car keeps delivering me smiles. I've gotten 35 mpg on the way to la. I consistently get 27 mpg. This car meets all my needs and more. I bought this car used with 40k miles and it has 55k miles on it now. Carfax report says car has had transmission work done. Tranny sometimes stays in first if car is cold then shifts roughly. This is a rare occurrence.
mpg gauge, auto sensing wipers, great stereo sound, great handling, eats up bumps, very safe. spectacular car. If you smoke when it rains, the wipers push rain into the car.
no dipstick, no aux jack to plug in my ipod/iphone. trunk is kind of small. rear legroom is poor.
I bought this car when it came off a dealer lease. It has been a pleasure to drive and gets great gas mileage 26- 30mpg. It is stylish and easy to navigate the controls. The only downside I have seen is replacing the tires every 10,000 miles. It doesn't matter if you put Michelen or Kumho, you get the same results. I have had it aligned and the mechanic says this is an issue with all Mercedes and BMW. You sacrifice comfort and cornering for tires. The brake dust is horrible, you constantly have to clean your wheels.
Styling, gas mileage, easy to navigate, fun, fun, fun to drive
Fix the rear end so you don't have to put tires on it all the time. Put ceramic pads on to reduce brake dust.
This car is a blast to drive and gets great fuel mileage. Average driving I get around 24.5 mpg back and forth to work (some city and some hwy) and during road trips I have gotten as high as 36 mpg. This blows away my old Taurus and this one is actually fun to drive and fun to be seen in! Bought mine used with 36k and now have 52k on it. At the last service had to have the drivers door switch panel replaced because the truck switch rattled in tune with the music (had to fight a little to get covered under warr), dealer also replaced center speaker and then replaced the cylinder head due to excessive carbon, all under warranty. Love the car and love the dealer until I see the cashier!
Looks, the C230 looks like a sports car, were as the C240 looked like a German Cadillac. Fuel mileage. Love the engine. Ride and handling are just right.
Improve the transmission shifting (auto) and better quality speakers (I listen a normal levels) Accessories should be more reasonable. Ipod integration kit was $600 installed. Make bluetooth standard.
I've been a Mercedes Benz driver since my 19th birthday. My first was a white/black 2003 c230 Kompressor 1.8L. I loved this car so I was hesitant to buy another car, and refused to buy anything other than another Mercedes. My black/black sedan is quite comparable. When I first got it I often had to remind myself that I was driving a new car (as the interiors of the kompressor coupe and sedan are essentially identical). I sprung for the leather this time, but chose xenons instead of seat heaters. The xenons are ridiculously bright. love them.
Three spoke sport steering wheel. Rims/tire package. Xenons. The fake leather was the best choice for me. They're dead easy to take care of and I don't have to worry about the weather affecting them. Just wipe them clean.
The coupe handled much better in the rain/snowy weather. When I say much better I mean much better. I don't drive my sedan in the snow anymore. Drove it a total of three times in the snow, and lost control of the car at least twice each time. Also the coupe had slightly faster acceleration.
Fast, fuel efficient, stylish and supremely comfortable. This is my second C class (previous 2001 C240) and is by far the nicest car I could find with 30+ MPG highway.
Highway fuel economy. I average 32MPG
None as this model has since been replaced. As for the new generation C class, bring back the supercharged 4-cylinder, with $4.30 per gallon fuel, we need it!
This my 9th Mercedes-Benz. I really like this car a lot. Mine is Orion Blue with Ash interior, and gets a lot of compliments. I bought Yokohama S- Drive tires for it right after I got it, and love the comfort ride, and the handling. Great combination of car and tires.
Styling, ride, comfort, hard to come up with just one favorite feature.
Wish the exhaust note wasn't so "4 cylinder" sounding, even though it is a 4 cylinder. Sounds a little wimpy.
Ive had a 2005 C230 Sport Sedan for 2 years now and love the car. With the AMG styling and upgrades the sport sedan has its a real head turner. I have had zero problems with the car and I drive it about 30000 miles a year. I've only brought it in for scheduled maintanence and had a couple recall problems fixed. I'd buy this car again and would recommend it to anyone. My friend has a BMW 325xi and my Benz is much more fun to drive
Radio controls on the steering wheel. The heated seats in the winter. The AMG body kit and upgrades to the suspension and brakes. The fact I average 28 mpg daily and Ive gotten up to 37 mpg on the highway. I also like that I can drive over 500 miles on a tank during a road trip.
I purchased this automobile as a retirement gift to myself as my old truck had finally croaked. Everything about this vehicle is a delight to own, handle and drive. From dealer servicing regardless of where I have managed to land to quality of repairs and frequency of service. Its comfortable on long rides, its quiet its fun. I would really purchase no other car given a choice.
6 speed manual transmission, radio controls in the steering wheel, frigid AC reasonable service intervals (car should be out providing fun for the owner not in the shop every other month)
Different wheel choices. 7 speed manual
The C230 has been a solid and reliable purchase and wouldn't hesitate to do it all over again. It has the classic MB good looks in a package that is fun to drive without hitting the wallet in a bad way. The 1.8L Kompressor engine provides ample performance and zip. It is both fast and quick as well as being responsive to the touch. My C230 has 50,000 miles on it and has yet to see a service bay for other than the scheduled maintenance. It's fuel economy is in keeping with other 1.8L engines. Bottom line... I never get tired of driving it and plan on keeping it a long time.
I fell that the engine's performance and what it delivers out of 1.8L is the cars best feature. It can kick you back in the seat. The front driver console is excellent with easy access to what needed.
The upholstering could be improved to add a better comfort level.
Great car. Fun to drive. A lot of features for the money and much more than comparable BMWs. Performance when you need it with the kompressor. Wife feels very safe in the car. Great gas mileage. On a recent 300mi highway trip, I got 34mpg by using cruise and keeping my speed at 65mph
Rain sensing wipers. Automatic headlights. Two tier cruise control (keeps it at or above a limit or at or below a limit) Heated seats - great for winter mornings
I am not good with big cars, I found this C Class to be a perfect fit. Parking inside the garage as well as in parking lots is very convenient. Driving this Compressor is just a lot of fun ! It corners with zest. It does take off and comes up onto the highway very eagerly. Visiblity is very good for me. Even fuel efficiency is great since gas prices are dreary. Enjoy, get one.
The quieteness and comfort of the car is very much appreciated. The comfort of the driver's seat is so well contoured. It simply hugs you. The quick get up and go !
Perhaps a bit interior roominess. How they can do it I have no idea but I traded my Camry for this one. Outside size was similar but the Camry seemed roomier ?
Love the mileage, 24 in the city, up to 35 on I-95 with performance. Mine is a 6 speed manual. Love to accelerate in 2nd gear. Stability is super and so is breaking. Would change it only for another C class.
Paint protection underbody
My first MB and certainly not my last. What a blast to drive. Fun is only a down shift away, blow by anyone on the highway no problem, gaps in traffic just seem to open up for you like moses and the red sea. Fuel economy is fantastic, 28mpg at 90 mph, 30mpg at 70, 32mpg at 60; can't beat that, its ridiculous. Watch out for cops tho, this is a dangerous car, can do 90 without even realizing it. The sound of the engine is music to my ears, I put the radio on mute (which sounds great as well) just to listen to it when accelerating.
Supercharged 4cly, remote rear sunshade, sound system, short-throw 6spd MT shifter
More comfortable seats, leave only functional buttons above the radio, mute button for sound system on the wheel, cruise control on the wheel
This car looks amazing from the outside. The handling is exceptional, too bad there are too many problems. I drove this one off the lot and have had nothing but problems. The car veered to the right and it took Mercedes 3 trips to the dealer to fix. At 10K engine leaks. I have been in the shop 7 times in 18 months for a non working radio. After having a loaner for 14 weeks I finally got MBUSA to buy back this car. Too bad because I love to drive this car but tired of the problems. Mercedes is not what it used to be. Replaced it with a 2007 Lexus 350 .
Best looking car I have owned, Great handling, braking.
Way too small inside , for comfortable seats, rear passenger leg room and Please have a radio that works.
It was a bumpy ride at first. I bought a dealer/loaner C230k from the dealership. That said, I've only had one problem with it, a blown oil line which leaked all over my garage. The maintenance is kind of costly, but it is the best auto I've ever driven. I've driven a lot cars around the world (Military). If you want a fun car this is it. Fast on the draw and will suprise you how quick it is. Sometimes it does sputters when moving at slow speeds on the highwqy trying to dodge in and out of traffic.
Style, performance and looks. Should I say anything more? It's a Mercedes! Ya gota love it.
More selection with the tires and rims. Mercedes seems content on being generic. Plastic pieces and not SS or aluminum? Come-on, I paid $96 a piece for plastic headlamp rings?
Compared to a used 2004 2D BMW 325Ci 5- speed coupe with similar mileage and my previous 4D BMW 325i auto -- the MB wins hands down: more elegant and classy, while almost as sporty and peppy. Ride is smooth and quiet. Seats are very comfortable for a family of 4. Mileage is terrific considering performance. Put side-by-side, the MB is much more of a head-turner than the BMW. No regrets so far!
Exterior and interior appearance superior to BMW. Peppy plant at gears 2+, smooth shifter, steering controls, low road noise
Could use more pep off the line. Nimble but less so than BMW
This is the first MB I've owned. I've enjoyed every minute and every situation of driving this car. Now that the snow tires are put on, the MB winter driving proved much fun and saver than my other 'light-weight' car in the house!
Feeling safe, stable on high-speed and long distance driving, good gas mileage. Easy on wintery conditions with snow tires on.
It took me a while to figure out how to handle the snow season and snow tire purchasing. Will be helpful for the east coast (say, like Boston) customer if MB can provide a detailed instructions on how to prepare the snow season.
I compared this car to the BMW 3 series and found it to be a better all around car. I almost bought the 2006 model with v6 motor, but wanted the supercharged 4L with better gas mileage. This car is truly a fun car to drive. I know its not MB top of the line, but my car came with the H/K sound system, NAV,Xenon lights,Tel-Aid phone,Powered driver seat,17" chrome wheels etc. etc.. It's nice to know that I get the same extra amenities that the bigger (more expensive) upper models get, but at a fraction of the cost.
The overall power for a 4 cyl is just amazing to me. The Nav and H/K sound system are a major plus for me.
The temp control knobs, a/c vents, and window buttons appear of very cheap quality. The cup holder, when popped out to make two holders, appear as cheap plastic as well. I feel as some point in the near future, I will have to replace these items due to the cheap quality.
This car is most enjoyable. While there are some detractors, the flat four with supercharger is a nice plant. I have pushed 35 mpg on the highway at somewhere above 70 mph. The car shifts very smoothly and cleanly. A very nice car.
The computer and the little tweaks for the comforts. The radio controls on the wheel and the six speed manual is quick and smooth
Driver's seat is hard to get in and out of because of a low seat and cramped cockpit, right leg annoyingly rests against center console but I eventually got used to it. Transmission went after one year due to "metal shavings" Still not quite sure what that means, but Mercedes replaced it under warranty and gave me an E-Class sedan to drive while it was being repaired, as they've done for all my service check-ups as well. The steering wheel controls, which offer menu options to change settings on the vehicle, are overly complicated and require too much time to learn that I, or any other working husband and father, has time to learn. I still have trouble with those menus. Truly compared to the BMW 3-series I tested this car is gold. The engine sound is truly invigorating. The back seat is a little small but my kids fit fine and the trunk is spacious. Very intuitive design and very safe. The car has a luxury feel for an affordable price and I would highly reccomend it.
Complaints aside the car is wonderful. It feels rock solid, performs like a racecar, and achieves mpg comperable to an economy car.
I finally found a vehicle that I felt good about. Great price, great fuel economy and very good customer service. I purchased a demo here in ATL in May and find myself liking the car more and more everytime I drive it. I'm coming from an SUV that avg'd at most 20 mpg. My C230 hit an avg high of 33.5 mpg a couple of weeks ago. I went a full two weeks without fueling! The AMG design is classic and the car is roomy enough to take friends to dinner. I never thought that I would own a Benz and plan on keeping this one as long as I can.
Smooth sports ride, stereo system, Benz extras like the back window shade that helps keep the car cool, and all around luxury. Roomy trunk!
My only issue is that Benz needs to make the seats a little more comfortable and add more tint to the windows.
I love how my C230 looks inside and out! However, it is slow and I have had it in the shop for issues w/ tail lights, brakes, amplifier (twice), driver seat motor bad, steering column motor bad. Total of 6 times that were unscheduled maint. I plan to buy a BMW next.
It's very classy looking and sleek.
Needs more horsepower and more durable breaks.
40,000 miles in one year. 98% hi-way driving. Average 29.7 to 29.9MPG between oil changes
Feels safe on the road under any road condition and speed
Raise top end speed above 135mph. Perhaps lower octane gas. How about a diesel C-class?
The car is a pleasure to drive. It has a lot of pep for a 4 cyl. The Kompreser kicks in and you can feel it take off. Everything about it is automatic makeing it easy to drive. The car handles well in the rain.
I enjoy the sun roof package with the upgraded 6 changes CD
Would love to see a front sun visor like the rear window visor.
This is my first Benz and it sure won't be my last. I just returned from a trip out west and was very impressed at my fuel mileage of 35mpg running 80mph hwy. It was a joy to drive 10hrs straight in.
Styling, stereo, seat warmers
A tad bit more legg room would be nice as I'm a 6'2 male. Bluetooth would be real nice as a standard feature. Navigation is very poor for Benz
Everything runs excellent. Winter snow tires are the only problem I've encountered. The '05 model need a wider wheel for the front tires, for that reason, I added the spacer for the front wheel snow tires.
Excellent tire options for summer driving. Need to provide a better option for winter/snow driving.
It's my first MB. Previous car was a '96 BMW 328i. So my comparison is 2 top notch performers. After almost 6000 miles I have no complaints about MB.
Automatic with up/down Gear shift. The AMG look. Handling. Decent fuel economy: averaging 30.9mpg after 5500 miles.
Stereo should be Bluetooth enabled and able to play mp3 via USB or CD.
Had a 2005 C230 Kompressor with a total of 7 uncheduled visits to the Service department, 4 of them related to a problem with the check engine light and loss of engine power. The vehicle had around 7000 miles when problems started and this week had to trade in with 10000 miles. I traded for another Mercedes Benz 2006 C280. Even when I had lost of problems with the C230k , I loved this car and would not hesitate to have it back. I think I just had a bad one from a bunch.
Comfort, front look and very good gas mileage
Power seat and telephone buttons should be standard and not optional
The car is "zippy." It feels very nimble on the road and around corners, especially in parking lots with its wheels-turn-in directional steering. I used to have an Infiniti G35 Sedan and it always felt cubersome driving around town. The Mercedes is fun in terms of acceleration because it gives you the boost with sound without immediately taking you over the speed limit. Great for someone who commutes through 40 mph zones 90% of the time.
Looks, with the 5-spoke wheels and lowered body aerodyamics it looks like a really sporty car - like an AMG.
More horsepower, if possible for the same price, but who wouldn't want that?
Take the time to test drive one of these if you have not already. Don't be mislead by reading the reviews for the coupe variant of the C-Class; that coupe was an abortion of a vehicle and should've never been built. I know because I traded one in for this sedan. I decided to give MB one more shot and I'm glad that I did. The C- Class sport sedan is a stunning machine. The interior is finely crafted; the engine is smooth & responsive despite being supercharged. Road noise is very low, and if you get the entertainment package, prepared to be wowed by the audio. If you can't stomach the '06 pricing, look for one of these '05 beauties on the pre-owned lot - you will not be disappointed.
The interior and exterior styling are top notch; fit & finish is among the best. MPG is none too shabby at 26+.
Could stand a bit more power since it competes with the 3 Series; pricing seems a bit high.
I took delivery at the plant in Sttutgart , receiving the royal treatment there, including a full tank of gas. Took off for Berlin inmediately in the Autobahn. Got it in the States for Christmas. Performance is beyond my expectations, handling , braking and high speed acceleration are superb and so is confort. Front seats can be stretched to form a bed for a quick nap in rest areas. Very thrifty on gas specially in the 60 miles range.
Like the hard to scratch paint.
MB should bring a TurboDiesel to the States and do it now.
I've had mine for over a month and 4500 great miles. I have had zero problems. The dealership is great. Very little road noise, great mileage, and very good looks. Love the stereo and the seats. This is an awesome car. 13000 mile oil change interval!!
The whole car, brakes, handling, esthetics, electronics, engine, and service.
Offer a diesel in the US or atleast keep the 4 cylinder.
This is my 4th Mercedes Benz and I think my favorite. It replaced a Mini Cooper S that while fun to drive, spent more time in the dealer's garage than in mine. The MB is just as fun to drive and gives the same fuel economy - with all the benefits of the three point star:(safety, solid chassis and cashe). My wife's already talking of trading her suv in for another C230 Sport Sedan. I even think the price is within reason for the features that come with the car. Look for 2005 models still on the lot - my dealer discounted over $3,000 to move the car. Can't beat that!
Exterior style, interior style and intelligent layout of controls. This car was designed by car people - not just engineers that think they know "how it should work."
I just can't get over not having a dip stick. Call me old fashioned, but I want to look at the oil's condition rather than rely on a computer to estimate when it needs changing.
Ive had my 05 C230 Sport Sedan for about 2 months now and I can't tell you how impressed I am with her. She is sexy, sleek and women love the car! I have about 3k on the car, and it hasn't given me a single problem to complain about. Gas mileage is great, especially because I'm a student. The car handles amazing. My brother just got a 2005 Honda S2000 for about the same price as mine, and its not nearly as pratical and 20 times sportier, but the C230 is just as fun to drive. It's the best entry level luxury/sport sedan for me. I got a better price on her then the 325 or the a4, plus everyother person out there has a BMW or Audi. For 30g's my money is more than well spent.
Exterior Appearance, Suspension, Praticality, Supercharger (I'm glad I didn't get the 06 C230), Metallic trim finish. All this and safety too!
The car is a bit slow, 189hp, but I can do without the speeding tickets. Keep in mind, this is a 30k Benz, not a $60k c55, so its not exactly the fastest. If you want a nicer faster car, spend more money, the equation is simple.
My 2005 MB c230 Kompressor so far has been a pretty big disappointment. It only has 16K on it and I've already had to buy three (3) sets of tires. It chews them up like cheap candy. The dealer has done 2 alignments already and multiple tire balances. The road noise is horrific after only a few thousand miles on each new set. The dealer has NOT been helpful. I try to drive as conservatively as possible but it still chews the tires up. I'm considering going back to a BMW. The MB is a nice car but I can't afford to keep buying tires like this. My dealer has been ZERO help. MB has not returned my calls or letters. Guess its time for an attorney. Buyer Beware.
Looks, sound system
Do something with the tires/suspension!! Perhaps take a few lessons from the competition.....like BMW.
I bought this car because it was the only stick shift they had on the lot. I have not been disappointed. The ride is excellent, and it is simply fun to drive. It gets incredible gas mileage (compared to the Trailblazer I traded). I am looking forward to purchasing one for my wife when it is time to trade her car.
6 speed, stereo system, climate control
Stretch the car five inches. I am 6'3" and it is hell on the knees of the poor person sitting behind me.
I have had the C230K since 10/2004 and there have been problems non stop. Brakes squealing all the time, replaced twice. There is very ittle gas pedal room. Handles not even close to an Audi or BMW. Horrible traction in a little snow or rain. Loud engine noise. the only things great about this car are the gas mileage and style. Customer service is very poor and watch out for the salesmen on telling you that this car is fully covered. That standard option end in 2004. Now you have to pay for this bumper to bumper option. Things changed for the worse after the merger with Chrysler. Bottom line, last MB I will ever recommend or buy.
Gas mileage and style
Brakes, handling, driver side leg room
Just traded in a Cadillac CTS-V for a 2005 M-B C230 KOMPRESSOR black-on-black sedan with a navigation system. Not a very powerful vehicle, especially having just had 400 hp under the hood of the Cadillac. Nevertheless, much more fun to drive, in that the seats are more supportive and one feels much more in-tune with the car, rather than just a passenger. The vehicle gets great gas mileage, has sufficient pep from the supercharged 4-cylinder engine and is a pleasure to drive. The navigation system is very user friendly, although could use a graphics improvement. I have no regrets investing in this vehicle. In fact, my girlfriend purchased the same vehicle (but red-on-black); she loves it!
Driving experience/handling/precise steering, sport-tuned suspension that is not hard on the bones/comfortable ride, navigation system, power memory seats, AMG appearance, great value for the money, etc.
Standard digital climate control, voice- activated navigation, standard satellite radio (with option of choosing XM or Sirius) rather than the optional Sirius
I have had my C230 for a year now with no trouble. The performance has been enhanced by the addition of a K&N air filter. This simple install has given me a little more low end power and much better gas mileage. I am getting 32 MPG very easily. For the money I do not know how you could do much better. Had an Audi A4 3.0Q and like the Benz much better.
AMG Look, and low profile. Transmission is super smooth.
None. It is what it is. A good value in an auto.
A very cute and aggressive looking car, with MB AMG appreance. Interior is a little bit tight inside, but it's a small car. So far so good with out any problems. Gas mileage is about 22mpg.
Exterior apperance, stands out from the crowd. Way better looking then BMW 3 series, Lexus IS 300, or Audi A4
A little bit more power, and more room in the interior.
This is my 2nd Mercedes C230 Kompressor and the '05 redesign is outstanding. I love the sporty aggressive stance it has. I recently had the misfortune of having a side impact collision with my car and I am so impressed with the stability of this car. Although the door was caved in on the passenger side, the air bags did not deploy thanks to the child safety component and the car really held its ground. I was shaken but unhurt. This was one of the main reasons I bought this car. It's economical to operate and it gives you the rock solid feel of a well built car while it still gives you ability to have fun. I traded an '04 BMW 330I for my MB and I don't regret it at all. Safety, comfort and style.
Sporty styling, heated seats, safety, fuel economy, fun to drive, and very eye catching.
Better standard sound system and full power seats. Better grade leather and having full leather instead of inserts.
I am impressed by the performance of this vehicle. The gas consumption was great also. Looks are definitely eye catching to many as I drove it on the streets and highways.
The car has been great and is fun to drive. I wish it had more power (was driving a 6 spd Maxima) especially when the A/C is on. Handling is wonderful and the car loves corners. I only purchased 2 options (CD changer and sunroof package) and have been very pleased. So far the car has had two unscheduled services (sunshade instalation and cold start/computer issue). Annual oil change at dealer was $150. Other than that no surprises to date. If buying again I'd wait for the 320 or new 350 (new 2007/8 C-class looks amazing).
The cruise control knob (once you get used to it, it makes sense), rain sensing wipers, rear power sunshade, transmission, exhaust note, drilled front brakes, seats and steering wheel, and rims and tires
The only improvement I'd make would be to offer more performance enhancements (dealer installed). While it's a sports sedan, it lacks power, and aftermarket product selection is terrible. In this arena the BMW is king.
Beautiful and easy to handle. It's not too big, but has 4 doors. I love it! I feel classy, I feel pretty. Drive one and see!
Fancier interior. More controls for moving the seats. Softer leather.
The C230 Sports Sedan that I own is an amazing vehicle for its price. In its class, nothing compares overall. Mercedes introduced a new nano-technicological paint which virtually eliminates scratching, and looks great as the car ages. Even chipped paint is a rare sight. The exterior of this car is really a nice sight. 17 inch alloy wheels, an AMG ground effects package, with chrome exaust tips, and even a supercharger. makes this car, second to none.
Xenon Lights, 17 inch rims, Cockpit style gauges, crossed drilled rotors, supercharged engine, best and easiest sport shift.
The Harmon Kardon Stereo/Navagation System and Surround Speakers is not as good as the previous Bose System. The Navagation is great, but the sound coming through the speakers at higher volume levels is limited.
This is a great zip around town car. I love the feel, looks, and handling. You could be going 90 and it feels like your going 30. just an all around awesome car.
Heated seats, hands free communication. Super smooth ride.
More leg room in the back seat.
Other than the radio needing to be replaced, the car has been flawless to date. Fun, quick, respectable, efficient. Everything you could want out of a car.
Aggressive look and handling.
Leather extended to the entire face of the seat (only middle section is without full leather option). Radio performance is below average.
The Mercedes Benz C230 is pure luxury. Great car and is a thrill to drive. Beautiful design.
The steering wheel,
This car is an absolute blast. It blows the C240 away. If you are looking for something that is reasonably quick yet cheap, this is your car. However, maintenance is quite expensive. Just went through the first oil change, $65! The thing requires Mobil 1 SuperSyn 0W- 40 and there are only a couple of places you can buy that. Approximate cost is $7.50 a quart. Other than that, enjoy.
Love the package options. Got the one with all three, headlamp, sunroof, and sound system options. Also got the automatic. Makes life so easy. The sound system is awesome for a "stock upgrade" system.
The only thing I wish they would do is offer the Kompressor for the 320. I would have bought that car, but it only had 25 more horsepower out of a V6, and it was really not all that much faster. The pickup from the supercharger is amazing.
I kept going back to the MB dealership to stare at it. Almost bought the 2006 BMW 3, which is frankly a better car. But the 230k just looked so great in Mars red, I couldn't resist. And while it has been the head- turner I thought it would be, ther are some issues. The paint chips very easily. The trunk lid has a wide gap and looks not fully closed at all times. The cruise control fob is badly located, and I keep trying to use it as for directional signal. The radio difficult to read in sunlight. The powerseats are sub standard. It already needs to have some work done on window insulation. It's slightly underpowered. All that being said, I'd buy it again. Sexy outside, sleek inside and a relatively good value.
It looks fast standing still. Love the aluminum trimmed interior. Has killer rims/wheels. The body styling and overall interior finish.
Power seats need to be improved. The paint should have a few more coats. More power (maybe v-6 standard?) An AWD version would be great. It should be MP3/iPod prewired like BMW. Relocate the cruise control.
It has the crisp, tight, precise driving that one can only enjoy from a Mercedes Benz. I have owned many bigger and more powerful Mercedes, yet the C230 Kompressor is an absolute pleasure to drive. It's quick, responsive, and still gives the driver the confidence of a well built, secure vehicle.
With current high gas prices, this model is a winner at the gas pump.
Perhaps in future models the navigation system could be raised to the same eye level as the speedometer on the dash.
The exterior is sophistocated, sporty, classy, and compact. The raised rear gives it a feeling of perpetural motion even when parked. My car is black, so the "shine" factor is ever present. The light bouncing off of it is a truly beautiful sight. Seats are firmer than I would like, but the front seats have sheep skin covers so that helps.
The exterior styling
I eagerly awaited the arrival of this car as I made my selection while it was on the ship. I have not been disappointed. It handles well, has superb performance, and gets 29.5/30 mpg on the highway. I love the way it drives, the way it looks, and the compliments I receive from friends. The longest trip I have taken was over 7 hours on some rough back roads and it was a comfortable trip. The workmanship is excellent, with not one problem to report after 8,000 miles. It is one of the best car buying decisions I have made in my 47 years of buying cars.
Looks, gas mileage, comfort, and performance
The classy/sporty combination this car boasts is unequalled in today's market. She handles remarkably well at any speed and is quite responsive when asked to politely grace the left lane. I can't keep from peeking back at the sporty, low-profile appeal she exudes inside and out. Soft leather, multiple steering wheel controls, and premium sound will keep this Benz in my garage for a long time. This entire purchase, from the test drive to the daily drive home from work has been the real deal!
Aggressive power (for a 4cyl) and handling. Tons of manipulative-easy to access controls, and comfortable size for the price. Also, she has tremendous curb appleal.
I love evertything about this car, however, my wife says she sometimes uses the cruise control for a turn signal.
She is sporty. She is safe, and she is the best car I have ever owned. I love the silver in front. My seats are comfortable and I believe she drives herself. I have never been happier.
The way she looks and takes off!
Power button and not manual controls to pull the seat forward and back.
I use this car predominantly for my 20 mile per day commute to work. It is a pleasure to drive and has excellent fuel economy for its class. On weekends I've taken the family on longer trips - and even though its a small car everyone has been comfortable. I now have 5000 miles on the odometer and have had zero problems with this car.
Automatic washers and headlights - sound system is very good.
I would love to have a hybrid or fuel cell version of this car. ipod audio attachment standard would be great too!
Great sporty car. Nice to drive, incredible handling, elegant interior and the perfect size and look.
The look. The interior is classy and elegant. Has everything you need. Can drive for hours. Fun in the traffic, amazing on the highway. The exterior has a great look.
I just traded in the 2004 for the 2005 and I can't even begin to tell you how much more I am impressed. The new design inside and out is beautiful and modern. Handling on the freeways is crisp and precise. I love my new car!
New lights and single CD in dash.
It is the car of my dreams, it combines sporty features with luxury, great exterior design, sunroof, excellent stereo sound, great interior design, all friends and family love it, keeps heads turning around on the streets.
Exterior design, 5 spoke wheels, trip- computer, CD-stereo, sunroof, headlamps, etc
Muffler a little too noisy for me.
I like its combined simple, straightforward, yet sporty styling. It looks every bit as it drives and performs.
The clean ash-colored leather interior and bright silver exterior sitting on 4 aluminum alloys with low-profile tires.
Ride is a bit bumpy on concrete roads but I guess this is to be expected from lowered springs, stiff shocks & low- profile tires for handling.
I'm very happy with the C230. The dealer was outstanding. The product was better than what I expected. My wife and I share the vehicle. It's like that commercial whoever is getting to the vehicle first, drives it.
The exterior and interior redesign. It wasn't much but it deffinetly makes heads turn!!
More Horsepower...the HP and torque that it has, is not bad but it would be nice that it would come standard with 200+hp
In August 2004 I got a 2005 230 Kompressor after last having a MB 11 years ago (300E)--wow have they gotten fun. It's red, fast and really fun. Interior is well done. Exterior is as sporty as anything on the road. Technology is first class. But it's got warranty issues: console lid broke, paint is chipping and the CD player just ate my AC/DC CD! Dealership has been good though. For a guy in his 50's, I can't imagine anything I'd rather have for my daily driver.
Best thing is that Kompressor -- it really takes off. Also like the styling, especially the wheels. Low-profile tires and sport cladding. And oh yes, a good value for the money.
Better paint. Better console engineering. A CD player that doesn't eat my CD's
I test drove the 325 BMW and thought it was the car for me. The C230 has more style, more sex appeal, and has alot more bells and whistles than a 325 of the same price range. The engine pulls with gobs of torque, quick response steering and is built to last. It is my first Mercedes but wont be my last. I have had 37 cars over the past 20 years. It is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
Quality of workmanship, ride, torque, tons of cool stuff..computer, awesome stock stereo, slick 6 speed
The cruise control lever is a pain. Keep using it by mistake as a turn signal.
Great car for a lower end MB. Very stable and powerful, the supercharger is a nice touch. Got it nearly fully loaded (minus navigation and bi-xenon lights). Still, not bad for my first car. Great handling, very responsive.
Supercharger, radio control on the steering wheel.
Make the navigation standard...on all MB's..bump up the i4 to a v6..and give it a sportier stance.
This car is awesome. Prior to this MB I had a Passat V6 . Not only is this car nicer on the outside, but moves faster and smoother than the Passat. The exterior is so AMG-like! I love it. Nice features and comfortable seats. Perfect car for a young girl!
Heated Seats, Radio panel, body kit, nice comfortable soft leather seats
More leg room in the back. Front seats should be automatic without having to pay extra. Come on, its a MB
Excellent driving pleasure with pleasing exteriors. Responds to control very well. Superior acoustics and a 6 change CD player make driving fun. Besides, the dealership is excellent with tremendous post sales follow up. In fact, that was the major deciding factor as the Lexus and BMW salespersons were so lacklustre in their sales pitch that I was apprehensive if they would have any post-sales interest in me at all. However, still feel I was slightly overcharged for the car so go with the invoice and don't budge while bargaining.
The flaring exteriors and aggressive post sales follow up.
2-3 inch wider rear seat will make a lot of difference. Also couldn't the wiper control be on the steering wheel too or on its right side. In its present location it is at a kind of a blind spot for a driver between 5'7 to 5'10''.
Most fun I've had driving a car in a long time. And in a city where BMW builds cars, the new design and AMG body panels get a lot of compliments.
I traded in my '03 G35 for this little gem. Not as fast as the G35, but a wonderful, solid feel. Extremely well made, great handling, and MUCH better gas mileage. I'm much less likely to get speeding tickets, yet I'm really enjoying driving this exceptional car. The "Tiptronic" manual shifting is much better, quicker, than in the G35.
Great road feel - wonderful suspension.
The CD changer takes up too much room in the glove box.
I test drove the BMW 3 series, Lexus IS300, and the Acura TL and none could compare to the overall package. This car has the right balance of luxury and sport. The car drives like a dream and the new 2005 updates make the car flawless. The 189 hp drives like a 6 cylinder and the car gives you awesome gas mileage. This car was well worth the wait, I had to order my car so it took me almost 3 months to get my baby. The Mercedes feel and quality is by far unmatched. Even driving at 130 mph the car is so silent and smooth. The brakes are awesome other than the frequent brake dust, but the rims are so easy to clean.
AMG body styling / clear headlamps / new interior design / 3 spoke steering wheel / It's a "BENZ" factor / awesome staggered 17 inch wheels with the lowered sport suspension standard / all of my options: Brilliant silver - charcoal interior - automatic - entertainment / sunroof / lighting packages
Give me more horsepower. You can never get enough..full power seats without having to buy an additional option. More phone options with the bluetooth in car setup...minor things, but man do I love driving my car!
The Mercedes-Benz C230 Sport Sedan is a poor excuse for a Mercedes-Benz that should never have been marketed. The car is junk. The only thing that they accomplished is that I will never purchase another Mercedes product. I hate this car.
The 2005 Mercedes-Benz C230 Sport Sedan is very fun, Comfortable, and reliable. Its great styling turns a lot of heads.
The navigation system is great.
Improve the sound system.
Go buy it! I test drove the BMW 325i and found the C-Class better looking inside and out. Plus I think it has more leg room. I've put over 1,300 miles and I'm really enjoying it. Get the Entertainment Package, love the Harman/Kardon sound system. I'm surprised by the power of the little supercharged 4-banger. I just got out of a 2001 Volvo S60 2.4t, it's smaller inside then the Volvo but I'm having fun!!! The ride is better and quieter. So far I'm really enjoying the car.
Get the Entertainment Package for the Harmon/Kardon sound system. Get the Sunroof Package for autodimming driver and Rearview mirror. Don't forget the Power Driver Seat/steering column w/memory option. The automatic transmission is smooth and works great! The computer is cool. Great brakes.
Doors are small. If I needed to add anything: More HP. Bigger seats would be nice, a left foot rest for long haul. Changing channels on the steering wheel to match pre-programmed, not just a search.
The truth be know everyone knows me as Mr. Frugal. I have to say that my Mercedes-Benz C230 Sport Sedan is one of the best non-investment purchases that I have ever made. Besides the heads that turn every time I pass anyone, this vehicle is a real treat to own. It has good low-end torque, its braking is exellent, it handles nice, and gets great gas milage. Let's face it, when it comes to performance the Germans are tops. This car should be on you must test drive list. The only complaint I have, is that I'm 6'1 and I could use a little more leg room, but other that that it's perfect...and it fit into Mr. Frugal's budget. This is a great car.
The torque, braking, and instrumentation.
Add leg room and upgrade the CD player to make is MP3 capable.
I drove the BMW 3 series, Acura TL, Lexus IS300, Volvo S60 but none compare to the 2005 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan. I really thought I wanted a BMW, but the dealer was awful and the car was plain with no options. The Mercedes dealer was WONDERFUL and the 2005 C-class is beautiful and feels much more expensive than it is (vs the BMW that feels cheap). My wife immediately said "this is the one" when we went on the test drive. The console lid was broken on delivery but the dealer offered to come to my house the next day to fix it. I'll be a Mercedes driver for life!
Torque of the supercharged engine is great. The 5 speed automatic is very smooth and holds gears on it's own when you're being agressive, or you can do the manumatic thing. So smooth and quiet at 80 on the hwy. Great stereo, and the trip computer is outstanding. Impressive gas mileage too!
Larger trunk opening; the trunk is large enough but the opening is small. I can't fit my son's stroller through the opening. Offer an iPod interface for the radio. Beware the rain sensing wipers - you can't control the intermittent rate and sometimes they just wipe like crazy!
I drove the BMW 325i, Lexus IS300, Saab 9-3 Arc, & Acura TSX, before buying the C230K. BMW was great at everything, but adding 17" wheels and sport pkg made it more than the MB, which came standard with 17" wheels & sport susp. Also, could get lthr-faced seats w/o high- cost lthr pkg. Added sunroof pkg which gets you the cool power rear sunshade and rain-sensing wipers. Lexus had smaller backseats and trunk, Saab had low resale value & turbo lag & fr wh drive. TSX is value leader, but fr wh drive hurt handling & interior too much like an Accord (which it is). C230 is very quick, point-&-shoot handling, AWESOME exterior styling w/AMG trim, incredible stopping power, fabulous gas mileage-32hwy!
Rain sensing wipers, power sunshade, styling, turn signal falls right into your fingers w/o taking hand off wheel, wonderful handling, supercharger keeps boost pressure up all the time (no turbo lag), ash interior looks awesome-- especially through cool blue-tint windows. 13,000 mile service intrvls!
Renntech.com offers a performance upgrade that adds 20 HP (209) and 27 lb ft of torque (219) for $1,695. Wish MB would offer that on the car from factory. Center armrest not deep enough to fill with CDs. A bit more rear legroom would make it a total class- beater.
I remember seeing an advertisment for a C230 about a year ago saying "Remember how much you loved your first car? Imagin how much you will love your first Mercedes". This car is not only my first car (at 17), but also my first Mercedes. I guess it is for this reason that I am a little bias with my rating. However, this car truly is a wonderful car full of great acceleration and amazing interior comfort, not to mention a great sound system.
The engine (althouh I wish it had less of a delay when pushing the gas quicky), the semi-automatic transmission, sound system, the key (it has the Benz key...or lack of key)
There really isn't much more to improve on, unless we get outrageous like if you push a button, the car turns into a supersonic jet.
Have had no problem so far with 11,000 miles on car.
more supercharger :)
First time I have ever owned MB. Had 3 BMW's and an Infiniti G35. BMW's now run on Microsoft Windows. If you want a car that can crash before you leave your driveway, BMW's for you. Get an eMachine instead. I much prefer German cars over Japanese. I love driving this car. It is very stylish and comfortable. The fuel economy is pretty good. Looking forward to MB sending the diesel version of this car to the US. This car is very well put together and has great attention to detail.
Heated seats (they turn themselves down automatically to keep you from getting too hot), smart key, adjustable arm rest center console, heat resistant glass keeps interior much cooler than the Infiniti
bluetooth phone interface, iPod interface, more audio controls on steering wheel (on/off, change scan preset stations),
This car is awesome! The handling is superb. The Kompressor engine makes the four cylinder engine feel like six. The interior design is very attractive and the exterior design is an attention grabber. This is the first Mercedes I have owned and it won't be the last. The sound system is impressive and Mercedes uses high quality materials in its interior. Don't miss an opportunity to test drive this car. You'll find that you are getting a lot of bang for your buck.
Handling,17 inch wheels, oversize exhaust, tinted windows, steering ratio, interior design, exterior design...just about everything.
More leg space in front and back. Seats should be fully powered.
GO BUY A C-230 SPORT SEDAN !! YOU WILL LOVE IT!! The car has been perfect. Fit finish and quality of materials is excelent, controls are perfect, NO rattles no squeeks, rides well, performs great, FUN TO DRIVE and looks VERY cool! When people see and ride in this car they can't beleive that a Mercedes Benz with this quality these amenaties only cost just over 30 grand!
It has the overall feel of a very high quality car. It feels solid, quiet, and comfortable yet sporty. Sun roof, seats, steering, performace, braking, styling.
Small doors and low chassis make it a bit hard to get in and out of.
I test drove the Audi A4 and the BMW 325i and I was immediately sold on the 2005 C230 Kompressor. Truly a well-made, put together vehicle that sets the "prestige" standard. This car is beautiful inside and out.
Black on black; very few autos will retain the showroom sparkle; this one will.
It could use more a few more cockpit compartments along with a coin holder.
I LOVE THIS CAR. I HAVE HAD IT NOW FOR 4 MONTHS AND STILL LOVE DRIVING IT. I GOT MINE WITH EVERY OPTION AVAILABLE AND AM GLAD I DID. THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM SETS OFF THE ALUMINUM IN THE INTERIOR JUST RIGHT. THE INTEGRATED PHONE IS GREAT ON ROAD TRIPS, OR JUST WHEN YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION. THE BI-XENON LIGHTS WERE WELL WORTH THE MONEY. 10 OUT OF 10
ALL OF THE TOYS
MAKE THE TIE RODS MORE STABLE. I HIT A CURB DOING 15 MPH AND DID $3000 OF DAMAGE. ALSO MAKE A BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL SO YOU CAN SWITCH BETWEEN CD/CD CHANGER/SAT RADIO.
My husband and I have owned 8 mercedes. Mostly E-Class and one 240 Diesel.I researched, drove and compared this C-230 Kompressor with the Acura TL, BMW 3, BMW 5, Lexus 330 and 300 LS and GS. The C-230 has it all. Safety, handling, quality construction MB known for and that style that one is still pleased to drive and still attracts attention 10 years later. Exhilarating driving experience. The BMW3 handles the same, the Lexus and Acura don't come close. BMW3 poor left door safety rating on side impact studies. Comparing paint finishes--just check out two or more year olds from Acura, BMW, Lexus.... no comparison to MB.
HANDLING ON ROAD. TURN RADIUS. NO SWAY ON QUICK SWERVES. ACCELERATION, BRAKING. THE MOST WONDERFUL DRIVING EXPERIENCE COUPLED WITH THE BEST SAFETY RATINGS. Power rear window shade. Lumbar support THE WHOLE CAR INSIDE AND OUT.
SINGLE WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADE. IT WAS AN MB TRADEMARK AND A SYMBOL OF CLASS.
Truly a phenomenal vehicle. The dealer really tried to sell me on the automatic 230K on the lot, so glad I got the 6 speed manual. Not only is the manual smooth, you are able to use that supercharged 4 cyl. to its fullest potential. The rear quarters are a little cramped, however I bought this car to drive not to ride in. My son has enough room for his car seat and other misc. items in the rear and myself and the wife are quite comfortable up front. I traded in my 03 Navigator so I knew going in I was losing space, but definitely saving at the pump. Overall I highly recommend this car!
I absolutely love the color Granite Gray. Although I had to wait 3 months after ordering this particular color and 6 spd, it was well worth the wait. The AMG styled body work is beatiful, she is the Michelle Phifer of cars :p
Ok if I have any thing to suggest it would be more space in the rear, however adding more space could change the dynamics of an already great vehicle. It suits the needs of my family just fine, baby in back mom and dad in front. If it aint broke dont fix it! Oh yeah give me an even 200 ponies.
We purchased our C230 this past August, and does this car ever turn heads! People often mistake it for a $65 - $70K car. The MB personnel at the dealership, from sales to service, were/are 100% pleasant and professional!
Accel'n fantastic! Beats BMW, Lexus and Volvo pricing. We would never drive a BMW with everyone and their uncle driving them in SC due to the BMW plant in Sptnbrg SC. Sporting and quick! ESP provides peace of mind.
Can't think anything we'd want more. All that and a bag of chips too!
MB finally got it right with this version of the C class sedan. This car is extremely fun to drive and rides like a sports car. While the 4 cyl doesn't have an overwhelming amount of power it provides enough speed for changing lanes on the highway. If you're looking for a sporty luxury sedan that rides like a sports car this is it.
Vented brakes, staggered wheels, C32 body with mesh lower grilles, aluminum interior, sport seats, sport steering wheel, exhaust note
make xenon lights standard, in-dash 6 cd changer rather than the glove box mounted unit offered currently
I have owned several cars, I must say the C230 has the quality and reliabiltiy that I was looking for.
This is a fun little car. I have it a month and it's been a pleasure to drive.
All the features that they get for extras, are standard on most cars, such as the cd changer, sunroof and electric seats. They sort of nickle and dime you.
Just bought the car after comparing the Audi a4 and the BMW 3 series. Am totally sold on the Merceds design, quality of fit and finish and performance. It is the only one of the three that is distinctly recognizable as what it is. The BMW and Audi look alot like many other brands ie, Audi=volkswagen, BMW like many Japanese cars. I Love it.
Exterior and interior design fun to drive great sound (Harmon Kardon) Granite color
Make more of the fun toys and options easier to add and more available off the lot.
My car is so much fun to drive. This is my fourth MB, no other car I've had has matched the performance of a MB. Comfortable, on long trips no more backaches. Reliability and dealer service has been great in the past. Stability and control excellent. Had an incident on I20 to come face to face with a deer. The deer and my husband missed each by mere inches, after a swere to miss the deer the car straightened out and we preceding on. Lucky for the deer and us that we were driving a MB! I am certain.
Stabiliity, control and comfort.
Go back to single blade windshield wipers.
I bought this car on August 1st and she was in the shop on August 5th. Things happen. But guess what....Mercedes does have 2005 parts in stock in US...or Germany. After two months of driving a loaner. I started with letters to MBUSA. Threat of Lawsuits...etc. Finally, since the dealer was waiting till the cows came home. MBUSA intervened, they have asked someone to send the part over from factory. It is now October 20 and I am still waiting for my car.
Everything. This car is like a baby S Class or AMG. All the fun. All the features at and affordable price. I am sure I will love this car if I ever see it again
Before Mercedes sells a car, they can either stock up on parts in US or tell the buyer that he or she is SOL if anything breaks.
I purchased a C240 first in 2003 and then realized the features of the C240 2004 and traded.
The C230 is a sports car.
The rear seat could use some expansion.
Great car for the price!
Very fast, does not feel like a 4 cyl.
More rear space.
great car! and you look abfab in it! my only complaint is that the a/c isn't up to par
sunroof and stereo
2005 doesn't come standard with 6 cd changer
Great to drive has been a lot of fun. A great entry level car.
Equiped with a 320 watt stereo
Would love to see an auto sunshade for the windshield when parking vehicle.
This car is awesome. Beautify to look at and drive. New interior vastly improved..
Sport package. New interior. Looks. Sound system.
Slightly more pep. Full leather interior option.
I always owned Japenese Luxury, until now! I looked at Mercedes because the exterior styling was fantastic. Then I drove it and knew I had to buy it. Then I discovered it was affordable. I am only worried about the reliability. If it is reliable, then this car is the best car I've owned.
The styling looks like the $100,000 Mercedes.
Bluetooth wireless capability.
Greatest car I have ever bought I have always bought the car that fitted my budget this time I bought my MB. I have longed for it since I was 5. Superior handling, Acceleration when needed majestic looks and affordable price. I think you can not put all of theses in a car and then some. Suspension and breaking is marvelous. Sound system is absolutely NiteClub. Real head turner. No modifications eve needed. Go to you dealership and check it out yourself. You won`t regret
Rims, AMG Lips, Sound system, conviniency of the controls, computurized mileage and fuel usage indicators (also tells you everyting else)
2005 Models does not come with free maintanence like the older models.
I stopped by and looked at the BMW 3 series, Acura TL, Audi A4 and Volvo's. Once you see the 2005 C230 sedan in person you will fall in love with it...pictures on the internet don't even come close. Overall a great package, it has style, handling, performance and that little something called MB...I expect quality to be world class.
AMG look for $20K less, the best looking car on the sedan market!!! The wheels are spectacular.
Increase the HP. Competing models are faster. HP is an expensive proposition at MB. Try putting Z rated 245/40 tires all round...for easy rotation.
The Kompressor model will shave 10 years off your age the moment you hit the gas pedal. Warning: If you test drive it - you'll buy it! This sporty model is not your grandma's car. Quick out of the gate and responsive to corners. If you like getting horizontal through turns -this car is not for you. The ride is oh so smooth-no gritty feel of the road as with the BMW. This is a well thought out car in terms of storage. Ample glove compartment even with a 6 CD changer and a large truck with 2 built in side pockets. The hands free Harmon Kardon stereo system and built-in phone are accessable without thought.
Sporty style-sure the back seat is on the small side but if it was lengthened it wouldn't be the same car!
Great car. Best 4 cyl ever made. You would never know its a 4 cyl. Even on the hwy at 90 mph, there is little engine noise. Exterior, the car turns heads. Stereo sounds great. Get the upgrade to the 300+ watt. Its worth it. 10 speakers makes all the difference.
Overall ride of the car
Space. Hard to fits car seats in the back. If you are taller than 5 8" and have car seats (infant) you may have issues. Look into first. Its a tight squeeze.
The new 2005 MB C230 Sedan is not only fun and comfy to drive but also delivers nods and gazes of recognition and admiration. Hence it is not easy to summarize one's experience since the latter qualities are hard to measure and quantify. The sporty trim and structure makes the ride and handling a little more stiff and noisy, but one has to accept these because it is a SPORT sedan, not a regular sedan.
The great looks, the power boost when you need it and instant starting with just a click. Also, the good air con and sound system, as well as the easy to use mooonroof. Another great idea is the sealed engine with minimal maintainance, and and the 24 hour contact system via satellite
A little more noise padding and headlight controls attached to the driving wheel.
I seriously considered the Accord coupe and Maxima, until I realized I could drive a Benz for the same price! This car is awesome. A great intro to Luxury. Looks and feels like a $50,000 car.
The new AMG style front lip. Looks exactly like the C32, but $20,000 cheaper! The supercharger is great! 29 MPG! Cheaper to insure than V6 Accord/Maxima!
More front leg room. If you're over 6'0 your knees will rub the dash.
I looked at the BMW 325,Acura TL and Volvo S60 2.4T/R models before choosing the Mercedes. I've never regretted it. I've been driving quite a bit in the past month and it is so fun to drive and comfortable on the driver. I used to own a BMW but I'm not sure if I'll go back. I'm waiting to see if the Mercedes has the long term quality that I would expect.
Exterior/Interior looks and the Horsepower to gas mileage ratio. It has a lot of pickup for a 4cyl but gets 30mpg on the highway. Gotta love that and it draws a lot of looks and comments. It looks very expensive even though it isn't really.
I would like to see the horsepower increased to 200+. The 189 is not bad but I like a little more hp if possible without sacrificing gas mileage.
I have owned BMW's before and was just ready to buy another when a friend suggested I check out the C230 Compressor.. Boy am I sure glad I did! Beautiful styling, luxury interior, smooth ride and with the turbo compressor engine, I have more horsepower than a BMW325- but with 33mpgs on the highway and 25 mpgs in the city! The best of all worlds!
Compressor engine-- it's a marvel- 189 hp power from a 4 cylinder! Car also looks like a million bucks!
I have had the car for a week and I can't find anything wrong so far!
this car has the best handling and superioro comfort. this is the best investment so far.
This vehicle is excellent. A great car and the BEST price for a MB..turns lots of heads, and is QUICK! Don't settle for anything less than a Mercedes!
More rear space.
This car is great in every way. A great blend of performance and luxury. Mercedes is finally back :)
Acceleration, 5-speed automatic, fuel economy, interior and exterior design.
exterior design is superb gives a sporty feeling
maybe make it slightly bigger
This car is amazing. It handles great and there a ton of features. Can also be easily customized to fit the look you need.
Rain sensor, auto-dimming driver mirror and rearview mirror, drive settings
I hear the tires get eaten up quickly but this is not a Mercedes improvement
