Freelander problems are infinite

  • 2005 Land Rover Freelander 50,505 miles needs new engine!

Written by: kimmetzg on Feb 5, 2012 9:24:25 PM

Hi Everybody, I own a 2005 Freelander with 50,505 miles on it and after experiencing many many issues including most recently several coolant related issues, just learned that I too, now need a new engine. After having bought the car back in 2006 from my local dealer (had been a service loaner), and having only put roughly 30k of the miles on the car myself, I'm completely disappointed to say the ... Any help appreciated for a 2009 LR2 with all three packages...is it worth playing Land Rover dealers against each other? Help me over this mid life crisis so I can go buy a Honda? What are people paying?

Hi jenp123. There's definitely a reason why no one has talked about leasing an LR2 in a year, its lease program still stinks. It's as if Land Rover doesn't want to lease them. If you're interested in leasing a Land Rover, you might want to consider going with an LR4. That model has lease support available on it right now. If you really want to go with an LR2, take advantage ... Read More

Land Rover LR2 Prices Paid and Buying Experiences

  • 2008. 09. 2010? This LR model confuses me.

    Written by: nickr1 on Aug 2, 2009 6:59:21 PM

Hi, what is the current model LR2 for sale? Is it 2009? Are there any new 2008s? Or new 2010s? Are 2010s coming soon? What is the standard lease deal for these 3 years, if indeed all three years are available for lease? The new Sport and RR and LR3 seem to have a lot of changes coming this year, what about the LR2, I barely hear it mentioned? Why is ... Read More

Land Rover Complimentary Service?

  • Re: 09 Land Rover Comp Service [scogs]

I just called Land Rover USA and they said the 6 complimentary services will still be honored for 2008 LR2s. Starting with the 2009 models though, they'll only get the one service. That's too bad, but I'm glad we'll still get what we paid for when buying the '08 LR2. I would have been pretty bent if they rolled back that offering.

"Discontinued SE" What will that do to the resale value? Are they just adding HSE, no more SE not even for 2009, I guess no one really knows if they will even have LR2's in 2009 model? Thought I wanted the SE, but concerned about quite a few things...resale value, reliability (I know there are always lemons in every make, but sounds like a lot of the same problems here) I ... freelander never had low range so what made you think the LR2 would have low range" I admit to not having followed all of Land Rovers' developments and so did not know the freelander was similarly crippled. Even without low range the freelander is an amazing performer off road. You aren't going to do much rock crawling with it but it doesn't have the ground clearance for rock crawling anyway. Its ...
